I just got my gcms note, please

@frankrobbn1 @lekiboboe @justmellow please urgent

Good day, after I sent a comprehensive letter of explanation concerning the pre-assessment on my gcms note, I just got this today from Lagos after Nairobi told me it is currently under active review.

Please what does this really mean?

A deed of gift from sponsor? That doesn't sound logical in the immigration terms. He should rather state it on his letter of sponsorship and affidavit of support that he has transferred a certain amount to demonstrate his financial capability of sponsoring your studies in Canada.

It will end in praise

Frank I already submitted my application January 12, I just requested for the gcms April and got it may 6th.

So you gave that advice, how should I do it now? How should I tackle this issue, the one of sponsor.

Have you drafted a response for not declaring the previous refusal you had from US?. You should implement the advices I have enumerated in my last post. With regards to the evidence to establish strong proof of relationship with your uncle (sponsor), its important that you include old photos, proof of tuition payment and/or transfer of your living expenses into your account.

It will end in praise

Once he transfer it to me, do I need to prepare a gift deed or something?

From the GCMS notes, the program case analyst has grave concerns that you've not truthfully answered all the questions asked of you especially for the fact that you didn't declare your past visa refusal to the US.

To tackle this concern, you need a well-thought argument and detailed explanation that would express your honesty of not having any intention to mislead the immigration authorities. In your response, you should clearly state that it was an honest mistake and highlight the credibility of your several attempts to correct the mistake.

As for your sponsor financial stance, the program case analyst is also not satisfied that there will be adequate funds for your proposed period of stay in Canada. To address this concern, I will recommend you print a 1 year bank statement accompanied with mybank statement certificate with ticket ID and password. If possible, you should get pictures of you and your sponsor in the past and evidence of history and ongoing financial support from your sponsor.

Act fast NOW!

I have sent my sponsor's 1year statements and MBS.
But the rest I kinda don't have.

What is the visibility of getting the visa.

Far too many times, prospective applicants applicants ask me questions relating to this topic.

In this post, I will carefully address the real issues and meaning behind "Recommend Interview". I hope every participant on this platform makes the most of the information below.

Kindly be advised that every immigration applications submitted to IRCC are reviewed by at least two levels of people:

1. Program Case Analyst:

Most of the time, it's the Program Case Analyst who does the initial R-10 check that often positions certain applications on "Recommend Interview". They review all information present on file and can only make recommendations as per the applicant's circumstance - i.e, recommended interview (RI), review required (RR), recommended refusal/eligibility failed (EF). The Program Case Analyst may also be able to refuse some ill-equipped applications due to poor documentation.

Reason for Recommend Interview;

The eligibility status - "Recommend Interview" is mostly common when the Program Case Analyst has certain concerns about the submission of the applicant for an immigration application to Canada.

This is largely due to some irregularities on the applicant's employment reference letter and inability to verify applicant's work experience, ineligible financial documents to cover for the applicant's proposed program and upkeep in Canada, and in some cases due to salaries being paid by cash at applicant's place of work.

2. Senior Immigration Officer

The Senior immigration officer (visa officer) will then review the notes and assessments of the program case analyst and make the final decision, this also includes whether or not an interview is required. If an interview is necessary to continue processing your application, the status would change to "interview required". However, since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC have not been conducting interviews for prospective applicants both for work permit, spousal sponsorship, parents sponsorship and some other PR applications. In view of the foregoing, an immigration officer may disregard a recommended interview and subsequently grant an approval.

My observations;

I have reviewed several GCMS notes as of recent and in the past and I have come to understand that majority of applicant's with "Recommend Interview" as the current eligibility assessment on their GCMS notes are later in the visa process approved by the Senior Immigration Officer.

Although, in a few cases, some applications may be rejected due to the limited knowledge on the applicant's part to address the initial concerns. This also stems from the fact that the format is not clearly spelled out by the immigration authorities.

This is not much of a bother you know, i would recommend you check properly for the pre-assessment notes/comments which can be found on the page 2 or the last two pages of the Gcms notes.

I hope this information satisfies your enquiry and future questions relating to the subject matter.

It will end in praise.

What about recommend review

This means the visa officer was not well convinced when he/she read your statement of purpose. That is one of the first documents they read to have an overall view of the applicant. It is almost the replica of having a visa interview with the VO at the US embassy. The difference with Canada is you have to document all your defence and motivations on paper.

Also, third-party funds mean the amount given to you either by parents, siblings, relatives etc. The area to look out for to re-address is your study plan (why you want to study your proposed course in Canada and not Nigeria and considering the same course available in Nigeria universities. What value would this add to you, and how relevant would that be to your plan after your studies. You might also want to speak to the current pandemic that has made it possible for students to study online without any need to travel, so you might want to address why you have to travel to Canada despite the current reality. e.g. A clue that you can address is the poor internet bandwidth, irregular power supply, the difference in time zones, as the need to have access to a more conducive environment in Canada to study.

The visa officer also has concerns with the finances- I think @Spectro has done a lot of justice in explaining how to tackle finances. I would not want to over-flog this aspect. Still, you need to revisit your SOP vis-a-vis the supporting documents you submitted to guide you in wording your letter of explanation to address the loopholes and don't forget the God factor in all these. Put it all in prayer.

All the best!

Thanks done that

Just write a new letter of explanation explaining the refusal and the actions previously made to correct that via webform, you can also use that avenue to tackle the other questions raised

Ok thanks, how will I tackle " the proposed studies do not seem like a reasonable expense when compared to local options".

" Document submitted submitter show some funds seem available, but there are concerns that third party funds would be sufficient and available for the whole course."

My brother applied to 3 University for an undergraduate course, all 3 gave him admissions. Please is there any future implication if he confirm acceptance of all and present one for visa processing. Will the 2 other university consider take the acceptance a wasted slot. A senerio of been denied visa now and reapplying to the same school for admission and he will be given (chances) to process his visa in future

He should choose the one he want and deny the rest!
