AdvertsRe: Freebies Section On Nairaland by page9(m): 7:23pm On Jul 14, 2011
Pls guys I think d thread is very important and I will urge Seun Osewa to create a section for give-aways
.
I strongly support d idea especially among nigerians in nigeria.

Just this Morning while it was raining heavily, I saw 4 fully occupied danfo buses conveying students of Aina memorial pry school in Agiliti-Mile 12, Ketu in Lagos to a God-knows location to see how a desktop computer looks like! In dis age and time! I learnt d students were charged N200 each for d trip.
There and then, I thought of donating my long abandoned desktop computer to d school but I know they will need more than one unit. So, my fellow Nairalanders if you are touched by this and you have similar things you want to donate to this school or other school alike.
D school I'm talking about is a public school and I believe most public schools in Nigeria, lagos inclusive lack computer of any sort.
We all may not have all d money to assist d less priviledge in d society but we can stil do our bits by encouraging those who have no used for items that could still make difference in the lives of others.

We are looking for volunteers who have similar passion to help d less priviledge to contact me on 08060008171 or on ddebayo@yahoo.com
Pls note that the donation of all items will go to public schools in need of computer to teach d students but it is expected to b replicated in other states.

Secondly, we are not restricted to computer alone but any item that you consider may still b useful to others such as clothes, household appliances, furnitures etc can b donated to old peoples home, disaster victims and so on.
I know that so many people have no conscience anymore and that is why people find it difficult to help after experiences of so many deceptive people but I'm by His Grace comfortable, I have a thriving business but I believe that d idea of "Me, Myself and I" will not help.
So,If U know any Individuals or organisations both in Nigeria or abroad who can donate used desktop, flat screen, laptops and other computer pheripherals that would b good enough to teach students in both public pry & secondary schools in Nigeria on how to use computer, pls reach me through d above mentioned phone or e-mail add.

Seun, pls join us in dis noble project to help humanity.
Thank you all as we await ur positive response
AdvertsRe: Invest! by page9(m): 5:51pm On Jul 14, 2011
So in essence ur business idea is worth N20,000,000. Apart from ur idea what else are you investing? Are there other things on ground already. What is d cost of d whole project? Have u done an objective analysis of d biz? Theory is far apart from practise. A typical new biz is unlikely to make significant profit in d first six month.
I often smile whenever I see a greenhorn making claim to bogus return on investment when he hasn't started at all.I have over 25yrs experience in d management of small and medium busineses, I can safely say that d nigeria enviroment is extremely hostile to business,
All d same, wish you all d best

AdvertsRe: Business Financing Made Easy by page9(m): 2:57pm On Jul 14, 2011
Chino_anyi: was right. The world seem to be full of scammers using various means to reap people of their hard-earned money.
You know too well that those who need seminars on access to capitals are d poor in our society. Yet, you are charging N12,500 per person! Why do people find it difficult to help d poor? N3500 will b a more reasonable amount to charge if indeed d goal is to help and not to reap-off.
So what happens if as a participant,I'm not satisfied with d seminar? Would u give a refund? Do scammers give refund?
Who are ur resource pple? What is their qualifications and experience on dis issue?
From ur response above you don't like to b criticised but d society belongs to us all and it is d responsibility of all and sundry to make it a better place

Why do you want to add to d problems of ur victim of spiritual problem? If someone is in problem, I don't think asking for money under d guise of consultancy is fair. It's unafrican. Rather, why don't you expect d person to show appreciation. For ur help after d resolution of d problem?

It is dis same shallow argument that those who advocate for removal of d imaginary subsidy on fuel always give .I am an economist and I make bold to challenge anyone to provide d tru cost of producing fuel or power or any product or service offer by govt.
The truth is 70% of the cost is made up of inefficiencies & corruption.

Have you had cause to transact biz wit any govt establishment? You will understand what I'm talking about.

Sometimes, I wonder why china products are amazingly cheap. They also produce high quality products to europe and america at cheaper prices. They have been able to do this among other reasons because they have zoro tolerance for corruption and they keep working on their inefficiencies.Several Govt officials have been sentenced to death in chiina for corruption.

What do we have here, Alamesiegha,Ibori,Igbinedon, d list is endless are d godfathers of politics in nigeria and they get away with impunity.EFCC has been overwhelmed by d depth of corruption in Nigeria.Make no mistake, Bankole's case will soon b forgotten and he will b walking about freely intimidating d rest of us with stolen money.Have you all forgotten Olabode George so soon? Wherever corruption & inefficiencies thrive, nothing works!

The truth is that marketing or selling info is profitable outside naija but the Alaba and computer village boys only need to buy a copy and whoola! It's everywhere @ N50 per copy.Ask those in entertainment industry about their experiences and you will b shocked @ the sophistication of the pirates. They have all the equipments And network to distribute any vcd or dvd. They are more like mafia. But all said and done, don't like discouraging pple. But factor piracy in the project so that you won't b dissapointed

Why most pple struggle despite plum income is because they tend to acquire more liabilities than assets. Rent posch house, big cars, expensive and unsustainable lifestyle untill d bubble bust.d books are very good and I will recommend it for pple in early twenties when they about to start earning income. The books are practical
BusinessRe: Great Income Opportunity any one interested?? by page9(m): 11:28am On Jun 24, 2011
The truth b told, if you expect the bank to finance N3m biz for you and you can't raise N85k or N100k ur self thru ur family and friends.if ur own money is not in why should you expect anyone to invest?what if the bank reject ur proposal? What will happen to the N100k?. Most times people think investors have free funds to waste but what most of us want to see is your level of financial commitment to ur project.
If you really don't have much to loose in a biz if it fails, then I will b foolish to invest in that biz.
BusinessRe: Rich Dad, Poor Dad by page9(m): 11:04am On Jun 24, 2011
Reading through the thread, all I can see is that individual understanding and views differs. While some will always see a cup half-empty,others may see it half-full.

While all kiyosaki's theories may not b applicable here, if you apply most of the steps with ur ingenuity, it could make a difference.
I read his books in year 2000, the area that bothers me is the rat-race theory where you do all d work but you only get enough to survive till the next payday while the boss enjoy all the money!I got my paradigm shift thereafter and I started a side business in 2001 as a gsm dealer when gsm started not now when d biz is something else, resigned in 2002 and have never work for anyone since then. Have more than 35 staff on my pay roll now and still counting.

The lesson of the story is that information or knowledge is usefull only when it is applied.what works or doesn't work must first be tested.
It may not be easy but we all need to develop a good entreprenuer mindset where you see more opportunities when others in their usual xters see more problems.
I will recommend his books to those who are tired of working for someone and needs a paradigm shift.what you do after that now depends on how much sacrifice you are willing to endure
BusinessRe: Need The Next Big Thing- Need Inspiration by page9(m): 9:35am On Jun 24, 2011
I feel u,but. You could do more with ur situation.Do a thorough and objective assessment of your situation.Find out Where you went wrong,How did you arrive at this?was it mgt? Was it external? 'Our present condition is product of our past decisions, our current decisions will certainly determine our future direction. If you do a good analysis of ur situation, you would have solved the first step.

because what is responsible for ur present predicament may still be there.Secondly, there are lots of businesses that you can do directly or thru salesgirls in d university enviroment depending on ur level of pride.Items like foodstuffs, stationeries, typying & photocopying, operating barbing salon, phone call and football viewing  center, laundry etc.you may need to hire experts in areas like salon (good enough for both sexes)and laundry.you share d proceed with dis experts depending on sharing formular.

Now, there could b people already offering similar services, all you need to do is to device a marketong strategies that will attract the customers to you, moreso with ur existing brand. I could have been more specific in my suggestions if I were to be on ground, but you could also seek input with people you respect around you.Genuine Success is usually made from  junkyard of failures.Be sure to  learn from ur failures so that history will not repeat itself when you finally bounce back bigger and better.
Best of luck
