I see more of ethnic bile than brains on this thread...it's such a shame. I weep for this country. Sometimes I wonder what the sacrifice is all for...
Politics › Re: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by Pain(m): 8:26pm On Dec 28, 2013
Ola one: I have always said this: Gordon Brown who was a Chancellor of the Exchequer in Britain didn't study Economics. He's widely respected in the same field because of his stellar performance in Britain.

More importantly, Christiane Largade, the woman in charge of the IMF didn't study economics at any level. She was also the minister of finance in France.

Nigerians or should I say NLanders need to grow up.
Thank you. Dont mind all these "Nairaland Intellectuals" most of whom may only achieve a tenth of what SLS has achieved if they are ever lucky enough in their lifetime. Anyway, the "short bouts of delusions granduer" nairaland provides has helped to stabilise the number of potential destitutes and trolls we would have had physically on our streets. Thanks to Seun for his rather latent contribution to our social capital.
Politics › Re: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by Pain(m): 8:04pm On Dec 28, 2013
For all those blowing “hot air” please note that a background in Economics is not a guarantee or pre-requisite for a successful tenure as a Governor of the Central Bank.

It is worthy of note that longest serving Chairman of US Federal reserve, William Mc Chesney Martin (1951-1970), who had a sterling tenure of two decades serving under five US presidents had his first degree in English & Latin. He pursued graduate study in economics at Columbia University from 1931 to 1937; however, he did not receive a degree.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_McChesney_Martin,_Jr.

In fact several Chairmen of the Federal Reserve were Lawyers by Profession before being appointed. The same applies to past Governors of the Bank of England

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Richardson,_Baron_Richardson_of_Duntisbourne

So quit trying to table your arguments on the "Professorial" locus because we all know how far the so called bastions of intellectual glory have taken us. NOI comes to mind in this instance.
Politics › Re: Tony Elumelu - The Next CBN Governor by Pain(m): 7:10pm On Dec 28, 2013
PapaBrowne: These are not the functions of a CBN governor. Managing the monetary angle of of an economy is much larger that strength of dollar a d cashless policy. Sanusi's belittled the position because of his intellectual limitations.
What is this one saying? You are just blowing hot air.

Romance › Re: After 3 Abortions, He Will Marry Another Lady This Month by Pain(m): 9:35am On Dec 27, 2013
Most guys already know what they want from a relationship from the very first day. It's the bitter truth. The reaction of a guy when you break the news of pregnancy can reveal to a large degree (95%) accuracy if he intends spending the rest of his life with you.

I withheld the 5% for the chronically unemployed. Any guy with a means of livelihood asking you to commit to a bout of multiple abortions doesn't see you as a future wife. He would never subject the womb of his future wife to such a high risk venture.

Most guys will keep wife material intact and experiment with other willing lab rats. Some will deny this, but its the fact.
