I would be needing this model of drivers: TB6600 1 axis Stepper Motor 2-phase Driver Board for CNC Router 50v, 5A. Alot of them. |

So when you you come to think of all the movements involved, you find out that there are going to be alot of stepper motors for this 3D house printer. The motors are going to range from small smaller, small, big, bigger and large if you can permit that lexicon. |

The reason why the bricks are going to be fed to the header one at a time is because the weight of one brick is approximately 20kg, having more than one brick to be fed to the header would impose more weight in the truss. The truss is already carrying the weight of alot of things e.g the metals, stepper motors, motar, motar tank, bricks etc. And besides, the header can only handle one brick at a time, so why have the other brick sat there waiting where i could have it sit on one end of the truss where the beams can support its weight. |

On the truss is a moving bucket called; mortar bucket. This bucket can slide on the same path as would the header, from one end of the truss, to the other end of the truss . The mortar bucket conveys mortar from one end of the truss, after receiving it from the Archimedes screw pump below, to the concrete tank of the header, only when the motar in the mortar tank of the header is at 5% of it's full capacity of the tank. The reason of using such bucket setup is because, the length of the truss is very long, so using a long hose instead of a bucket, to convey motar to the header would impose problems of handling the long hose when the header slides from one end of the truss to the othe end of the truss. |
The motar feed system will feed motar from a motar tank on the ground. This tank is very large, it is fixed to the gantry and can move along with it. An archimedes screw pump, pumps mortar from this tank, through pvc hose, to the upper level of that end of the truss, and into a mortar bucket that awaits it. |
This is a saftey feature. Without it the 3D printer would continue printing a house despite the fact there isn't any mortar or any bricks. You can imagine what it would be like when this happens. |
Once the bricks are loaded, the tray is swung back in position by tilting it 90 degrees upwards to stand erect. The brick tray is fixed to the gantry and move along with it as a single piece. The brick tray emptys its bricks by pushing out one brick at a time, on to a belt conveyor that conveys the brick to where it is to be taken to the header. Once the brick tray is empty the 'empty feedback' tells the 3D printer to pause. This pausing of the 3D printer also happens whenever the concrete in the tank attached to the header, is 5% of the tank's volume. The 'empty feedback' of the concrete pauses the 3D printer. |
The brick feed system will feed brick from the ground where the bricks are packed, to the header. Meanwhile, the bricks are packed into a brick tray. This tray is almost as long as the gantry. To load the brick tray, the tray is tilted 90 degrees downwards. This will enable the bricks to be loaded. The brick tray will hold 60 bricks. |

I am well aware i did'nt throw any light on the feed system. Let me do that now. What i mean by the feed system is: the mechanism that feeds brick and mortar to the header. |
Ok.. Below is the specs i want. The length is 140 inches (355.6cm). The thickness is 0.25 inches (0.635cm). Angle is 90 degrees, angle lenth is 2.5 inches (6.35cm) But if they don't have these specs, then get me all the specs they have, let me choose the specs that is close to my choice.

Any slight deflection of 1 millimeter in the truss would spell trouble. This is one of the many places i shall face a great deal of challenge. The plane B i have for this area, is to use steel cables hooked to the two opposite beams and fasten them to the middle of the truss to stop it from deflecting under the influence of both static and current loads. |

I've been looking for a good fabrication company in Nigeria that would fabricate parts for me, and i came across Nigeria foundries limite (NFL) www.nigerianfoundries.com/the-company.php I think they have quite a good reputation for the job. I would go with them. |
micktoxin:I am not of the assumption this would work first, it would work as expected because i am working with tried and tested logics. I am only of the assumption the number of calibrations i would need to do on the 3D house printer because; i aint inventing any logics here, i am just combining different established logics. Thats the only new thing i am doing here. |
micktoxin:Offcourse i do have contingency plans, but these are in places where i am bringing in some novelty to reduce the cost of building the 3D house printer. I intend to make this 3D house printer as cheap as i can, so i am adopting some novel way of building it to achieve that low cost. So among the areas of this novelty, i might expect some slight failures, but these would be drastically rare because i am working with established tried and tested logics so i doubt if any mishap would occur.. But i still have an already made plan-B that awaits any such mishap in these areas. If i do encounter any mishap, i would be forced to take plan B and that would incure some slight cost in building the 3D house printer. |
