It is a statement of fact that Oshiomole as chairman would have ended Obaseki's political career and would have destroyed PDP combined. Fubara sacked Wike's boy as CSO, he has been appointed a more powerful position than a CSO. With the recent appointment of Wike's boys as commanders of key security architecture of Rivers state, Wike is gaining more, Fubara losing more.

Following his sack, some APC Governors and party chieftains were boasting of getting rid of him. The cabals within the party had their pound of flesh. APC led by Buhari would later dissolve the NWC loyal to Oshiomole and Buni appointed the caretaker chairman. Things went on a downward spiral from there, Oshiomole became a fish out of water, he retired back home an empty man, even his great ally the Jagaban could do nothing to help at the time. The intention of the cabal was clear, Jagaban himself was the primary target, stop Oshiomole, stop Jagaban.
Without the federal might, without the support of the party cabals, Oshiomole could not move a muscle against Obaseki and Wike. i strongly believe if Oshiomole still had control at the center like Wike currently enjoying, Obaseki would have failed.

Still on godfatherism, Oshiomole was a powerful chairman of the ruiling APC, he was such a fearsome force to reckon with, some revered him, some feared him including the opposition PDP. He put down his feet against the dark forces within the APC, flushed them down the tunnel back into PDP. With sheer determination and vigour, Oshiomole was able to record the most remarkable success of the party, retaining all his party's Governorship seats and winning more from the opposition, APC had a very large majority in the NASS and to top it all, he returned Buhari easily even after the likes of Atiku, Saraki, Tambuwal, Dogara and their footsoldiers were thrown out.
It all started off smoothly when Oshiomole had Obaseki screen out of the primaries, Obaseki became like an orphan who eventually found comfort at the waiting arms of Wike. Then thunder struck when a high court in Abuja ruled that Oshiomole had been legally sacked as a party member by his ward, the ruiling was eventually upheld by an Appeal court.
