ifegy: Re the PGWP question, check with your school or the CIC. Seems since June a one year Master's will get you up to a three year's PGWP, as happened for a kid who just finished their Master's in ON this year and applied for their PGWP in Alberta a few weeks ago.
@ ife, thanks. How and Where exactly on d school site do one as not sure it's stated explicitly on skul's site?

Jijola: Ph.D involves long procedures, but it is worth the procedure. As for a second masters, you need to go for a more specialised one so as to show the necessity for the second masters, otherwise it will make you look desperate.Since you have an M.Sc, why not apply for MBA or MFA? I did something similar and my visa was approved. You just need to write a strongly-worded SOP to link your current master and the intended one-the current is general and the intended one is specialised. But then, you may desist from stating it if you think there's no strong link for the two, or that stating the fact is not an added advantage to your visa application. You can also mention it in your admission application and not mention it in your visa application, if you think it will favour the former but not the latter. In my own case, stating my previous Master really helped in the admission as well as the visa application.
I advise you apply for Master in one school and Ph.D in another.Morning.
@ jijola, thanks. Stil searching for another school that waives gre/toefl for Eco. aside manitoba
Sent u a PM. Please revert, need to find out one or 2 stuff from you

Hi dear Bros / sis,

I would like to appreciate everyone on this thread. Well done. So sorry if I am taking the forum back again

I am new here. Been thinking of how to go about gaining admission into canadian school.
Been on Google checking up schools and the likes but majorly most schools require GRE or toefl for ECONOMICS

I have a bsc economics (4.35 cgpa) and Msc Economics ( 63B)

My questions:

Please would appreciate if any1 knows universities that waives gre / toefl and gives admission for masters and phd in ECONOMICS that I can apply to.

And do I go in for a 2nd masters n proceed to Phd or am I good to apply for phd straight away considering naija certification. Pls I need Your advice and schools that waives gre as am looking at fall 2015.

Your kind assistance and response is highly appreciated
