BBC. November 20, 2022
A gunman opened fire inside a gay club in the US state of Colorado on Saturday night, killing five people and injuring 18.
A suspect was in custody and being treated for injuries, police said.
Club Q, in Colorado Springs, released a statement on Facebook saying it was "devastated by the senseless attack on our community", and thanking customers who "subdued" the gunman.

In 2016, 49 people were killed in a shooting at a gay club in Florida.
Colorado Springs police said they received an initial emergency call about an active shooter at 23:57 (06:57 GMT) on Saturday.
The suspect was found inside the club when police entered.
Police did not immediately suggest a motive for the shooting and said the number of dead and injured could change as the investigation continues.

Collective defense and Article 5

The principle of collective defence is at the very heart of NATO’s founding treaty. It remains a unique and enduring principle that binds its members together, committing them to protect each other and setting a spirit of solidarity within the Alliance.

Foreign AffairsRe: Why Are There So Many US /EU Military Bases In Djibouti? - Horn Of Africa by panafrican(m):
bn365:
What makes this horn of Africa nation attractive to global military powers?
The horn of Africa comprises of these countries Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Seychelles, and Kenya.
Ethiopia Accused the US, and EU of supporting Tigray Rebels, Djibouti also provides a vital port for landlocked neighbor Ethiopia
Somalia, to the southeast, has been a hotbed of unrest - Biden in May approved plans to redeploy US troops to Somalia.
Yemen, currently in conflict, is less than 20 miles northeast across the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait - also an easy pathway into the Middle East.

Djibouti, a small country on the Red Sea, is home to military bases from the US and France, for many reasons but one could be the fact that China's interest is now becoming increasingly apparent.
US pays $63m annually in rent for its base and the Chinese will bring in $100m for theirs, in addition to their ongoing infrastructure projects so it is not difficult to see why Djibouti is looking past the rivalries of the global powers and enjoying its lucrative role as their landlord.
Chinese-led infrastructure projects - including the construction of air and maritime ports - are present here, just as they are elsewhere in Africa.
The presence of the US army in the Horn of Africa appears to be a destabilizing force in the internal affairs of the region's governments.
Some of the reasons of the military presence in Djibouti on the shore of the red sea,
1. Suez Canal.
France, UK and Israel failed in their attempt to seize the Suez Canal in 1956. Had they succeeded, them and the US would be
controlling the main road to the Middle East oil today. And they would surely make billions taxing all the boats passing there.
The West is still angry about that missed opportunity. So what can some of them do ? Well , getting closer to the canal through "bilateral" agreements on military bases . The main goal being to still keep a close eye on that route and forcibly use it in case of an all-out war.

2. Spy on Iran , Iraq, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Kenya and other East African countries.

3. Be able to quickly intervene in the India ocean including the eastern coast of Africa against China, India, Iran and Russia.

You all stop smoking weed !
Who did the Boers find there ? Who did the British find there ?
How can you guys say South Africa does not belong to South Africans ( Black)? Come on now !
It is so outrageous to hear some Africans act as if they were drunk. One hears Guineans and Senegalese
say the same thing about some West African countries.

Every African has a country, a region in that country, a tribe in that region , a sub -tribe within the big tribe,
a village within the tribe and a family in that village . In the family you have your own house !
When you leave your own African country to go to another African country just remember that in a village everyone has a family .
If you don't feel welcomed in another village or another family , just go back to yours.
This been said, South Africans are not Europeans. They did not invade us. So leave them alone. It is as simple as that.
It is not their fault if many of our political leaders are slow in terms of vision.

Foreign AffairsWe ( Africans) Should Stop Accusing South Africans Of Being Xenophobic. by panafrican(op):
How can some Africans dare say South Africa does not belong to Black South Africans?
This is really ridiculous and unnecessarily provocative.

South Africans suffered too much under Apartheid. We ( other African countries ) helped
but it did not and could not stop the wave of murders , kidnappings, rapes, enslavement
humiliation, and tortures that were their daily life for centuries.

After the fall of Apartheid, other African migrants should have waited at least 10 or 15 years before going there,
so that Black South Africans could have the chance to breath, heal from the trauma, regenerate, get jobs, rebuild their shattered lives, create wealth, and feel secure in their own country.
This did not happen . As soon as Apartheid ended there were waves over waves ( hundreds of thousands) of Africans pouring into South Africa. some of those migrants felt at home as we usually do in "ordinary" African countries, I mean countries that are now not in the wee hours of the end of a very oppressive regime. It was inappropriate and many South Africans felt it as arrogance.
Never been to South Africa, but if I have to go there it will be for tourism, not to take the jobs of South Africans, not to buy their land either.
They have the right to own their country. You don't ask someone who just escaped from drowning to jump back into the river.
Let's say it again: leave South Africans alone. They are in their own country. Stop those provocative threads.
Every African belongs to at least one of the 54 countries on the African continent.
Stay in your own African country or go to America, Canada or Europe.
You rather accuse the politicians of your own country instead of accusing South Africans of being xenophobic. They can share if and only if they have enough.

PS: We Africans can go to America, Canada, or Europe because those countries came to Africa without being invited.
They did not steal only minerals and timber, they also stole human beings and used the latter as slaves for at least three centuries.

Is the RIGHT-WING really about religion, family, and country?
The answer is NO. The right wing is proud to make use those blankets and make people vote against their own interests.

Is this the way Christians should act? Preaching hate and lies.
No. The right Wing claims to be Christian on purpose to hide its
extremist, xenophobic and racist agenda.

The right wants to preserve the traditional family values and support them because I am African, but this hatred is not something that I would love to be a part of because I support freedom and democracy.
. Agreed!
They will see you as an infiltrated communist agent. been there, seen it.
The racist bands in Brazil are not different from Trump supporters .
The best way to go now is to create a Christian traditional family oriented left wing that is for low taxes.
Get out of the the racist liars of the Right wing who will make you vote for them and in return make policies that will negate you as
an African .

DR Congo conflict: Why Kenyan troops are joining the battle
Published 5 hours ago BBC
How many troops will go to DR Congo?

There is no specific figure on the number of troops that will be deployed. What we know so far is that only four countries - Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and Burundi - are sending their soldiers.

One thousand Kenyan troops will join their Burundi counterparts who arrived in DR Congo in early August for the joint mission against the rebels. It is not clear if Tanzania will deploy troops.

Military officials have declined to reveal the numbers of soldiers involved, citing security and strategic reasons.

Burundian soldiers are currently based at Luberezi near Bukavu in South Kivu. The Kenyan contingent will be stationed near Goma in North Kivu and will command the East African Community Regional Force.

Rwanda is also a member of the EAC but it has been agreed it should not contribute to the regional force.

Either you don't know how to read or you think that you can fool people on international relations
the way Western countries fool their populations.

1. What is that country with a defense minister but with no army ?

2. Does an armed force need to be called "army" to be recognized as such ? You are a big joke.

3. What is that country with warplane but with warships and warplanes ?

4. Saying that a Defense Force is not an national army is like making people believe that when you call
a Police force a "Public safety " force , it is not Police anymore. Go tell that to the uneducated living in
your ghettos out there in Chicago or Minneapolis.

5. You seen to believe that just a country has nukes, it can use it anytime in any conflict.
If this were true why aren't the Russian dropping nukes on Ukraine after the Ukrainian bombed Crimea?

China cannot even use Nukes against Taiwan , not to speak about Japan one of the U.S's most valuable ally in the
Far East. There can be conflict ( ground, sea and air ) attack between those tow country over a dispute territory without
China using its nuclear power because, it the Chinese do, the US will get involved.

6. You said " Japan has no military and has no intention of ever going to any war unless war come to them."
If you think that statement is something new in the world then you are a joke, because the U.S., France, UK, Russia, India, Pakistan, all African countries etc. say the same thing . Even Nazi Germany had no intention to go to war!
No country will just wake up one morning and say urbi et orbi that they have the intention to go to war and will attack even if war does not come to them.

7. Now if you think that the century -old territorial conflict between China and japan over some Pacific islands
cannot be a cause of an armed conflict then think again.

Foreign AffairsRe: Swahili Is One Of The Most Spoken Languages In The World by panafrican(m): 12:12pm On Oct 31, 2022
Speaking a language is not an emergency in West Africa or other parts of Africa , what is urgent encompasses
1) Manufacturing agricultural machinery , light or heavy.
2) Having our own satellites
3) Manufacturing our own heavy weapons enabling us to defeat the growing NATO threat.
4) The war on nature ( stopping the desert and making the Sahel green)
5) Affordable and high standard health care , more hospital with sophisticated equipment in cities and remote areas.
6) Defeating breast cancer and other types of cancers.
7)high standard and affordable housing. Clean cities.
8.) Building more roads and bridges to access remote areas
9) Putting billions of $ in technological innovation in the domain of robotics,
medical equipment, factories, recycling, building our own boats and airplanes, making our own appliances, and vehicles.
10) controlling our own banks, currencies and economy.

This been said, Swahili is not an authentic African language like Hausa, Wolof, Igbo, Yoruba, Ashanti, Guere,
Mande, Susu, Gerhze etc. It is mixed with too much Arabic.

Foreign AffairsRe: Swahili Is One Of The Most Spoken Languages In The World by panafrican(m): 3:02am On Oct 31, 2022
Niger-Congo is a hypothetical language family spoken over the majority of sub-Saharan Africa.[1] It unites the Mande languages, the Atlantic-Congo languages (which share a characteristic noun class system), and possibly several smaller groups of languages that are difficult to classify. If valid, Niger-Congo would be the world's largest in terms of member languages, the third-largest in terms of speakers, and Africa's largest in terms of geographical area.[2] It is generally considered to be the world's largest language family in terms of the number of distinct languages, just ahead of Austronesian.

Origin.
The language family most likely originated in or near the area where these languages were spoken prior to Bantu expansion (i.e. West Africa or Central Africa). Its expansion may have been associated with the expansion of Sahel agriculture in the African Neolithic period, following the desiccation of the Sahara in c. 3500 BCE.
According to Roger Blench (2004), all specialists in Niger–Congo languages believe the languages to have a common origin, rather than merely constituting a typological classification, for reasons including their shared noun-class system, shared verbal extensions and shared basic lexicon.
