THE HYPOCRISY OF NIGERIANS TOWARDS SYMPATHIZERS AND THE REALISM OF THE PARIS MASSACRE.. Ekiti people would say "Bu wo ba se gbe ugba re, li oma araye a ba o gbe" "The mode and manner which you carry your calabash is directly proportional to how the community would handle it either with care or carelessness for you" Likewise in reality, the manner through which You handle your life, property, esthablishment and country is tantamount to how the world would handle it for you either with care or carelessness as the case might be. Let's be truthful with ourselves for once, has successive Arab, African and Nigeria governments done enough for it's citizens to warrant such a grade 'A' barge of sympathy from the world??. My good friend Steve Harris would say "Great packaging enhances value", has the Nigerian government packaged it's citizens enough thereby increasing their value in the comity of nations?? Yes I quite agree that the same blood flows in veins of Boko haram victims and that of the Paris massacre victims but just like a vibrant economy determines the strenght of a country's currency, likewise the disposition of a government towards it's citizens determines the value placed on them by the world. Has successive Nigerian government valued us enough as citizens of this country to warrant such gravity of sympathy from the world??. Where do I even start from, is it the the zaki biam massacre, the odi genocide, the mereciless killing Igbo traders in Kano, the maistine riot, the deaths from fulani herdsmen, the ethnic cleansing at Jos and Benue states, the religious killings at kaduna, the chibok girls, political assasinations, extra-judicial killings by the police and the insensitivity of the our government towards it's citizens. Even if the whole world were to sympathize with us on each occassion, I think we would have a world of grief.. Imagine some unruly youths in your community holding some American, Russian, Isreali, British citizens hostage, I am sure yours sincerely would abscond from the town because of the fear of what the US marine, KGB, Navy Seal and the Mossad commandoes would do to your community even after rescuing the hostages. On the other hand kidnapp some citizens of Nigeria and slaughter them on a live television program at a known location, the best they could get is a presidential condolence message dazzol.. In the philosophy of the light and sound society, zeal, passion and drive for success is said to have an attractive positive energy that naturally attracts the right set of people towards a proposed goal likewise the world intuitically values what people generally places value on.. Fellow wailers, please let's pray and mourn for Paris as people who appreciate value. I love Nigeria and this article is a timely reminder to our government on placing more value on us.. Edit· Delete Falemara Paul Bidemi 6 RULES OF CREATING A WHATSAPP GROUP.... Often times I have observed a nauseating trend of people creating a whatsapp group, proceeding to add people to this groups, then they suddenly go blank, worst still, some would starting threatening to remove people from such groups, who cares?? 1. NEVER CREATE A GROUP WITHOUT A SET OBJECTIVE: Yes, the law of attraction is applicable in this scenario, it's your passion and vibrancy that will set the ball rolling in such groups. Is your objective to re-connect with old classmates, to talk about love and relationship, leadership and internship e.t.c. Let the purpose be defined, don't just create a whatsapp group and go blank, it is offensive.... 2. BRIEF LIKELY PARTICIPANTS BEFORE ADDING THEM... Yeah, how would you feel to wake up one morning only to start receiving notifications from a group you know nothing of, annoying, right? Please take your time to chat up potential participants about adding them to a particular group, explaining briefly the motive behind such group, then take time to hear them out. Some will consent to your invite, while others will turn down your request, don't feel bad, reason along with them as some might have issues with their battery afterall... 3..BE DEMOCRATIC. I have belonged to some groups in the past where the moderator was calling the shots like the Idi Amin of Uganda, with time people would start feeling intimidated and poooah!!! the group goes into extinction. Be democratic enough to appoint co-moderators, keep decisions open and let the voice of the major participants prevail while arriving at a conclusion... 4. NEVER REMOVE A MEMBER AND ALWAYS CHAT UP AN ABUSIVE MEMBER BEFORE DELETING HIM/HER... Naturally someone like me love observing on the sidelines before making incursions into discussions and when I make contributions, the applausometer turns red.. A participant might not be able to contribute due to busy schedules or phone issues but you might be suprised that later on they would make the best contribution when they finally wake up from their slumber.. Change is the only constant factor in life, chat up with a cyber bully often on the possibility of him /her ammending his/her ways before deleting him/her.. Getting deleted can be quiet hurting at times... 5. BE INNOVATIVE AND DON'T FORCE EXITING MEMBERS.. Bring in new ideas to stir up members when it seems the room is getting cold and never force exiting members to stay by re adding them over and over. 6..HAVE DISCUSSION PERIODS Damn'it, I hate my phone beeping at work or my battery getting drained from chat groups.. Mr Moderator Please 8pm to 10pm is good hour range to keep the room active, let there be guidelines... Copied from the facebook timeline of: 'Falemara Bidemi' # ChronicThinker.. |

IS THIS NOT A REASON TO WAIL ![]() Well, if you feel that the minsterial list released by President Buhari is not enough reason to wail , then you might be sentimental afterall.. Let's take a limpid trip to the past dispensation of Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo, apart from the fact that the ministerial list was released to time which shows a leader with blueprint before assumption of office, the list then was also pre-occupied with technocrats, egg heads, people with little or no party affiliations and finally new arrivals such as: Madam Okonjo Iweala Nasir El-Rufai Ribadu Obiageli Ezekwesili Rahman Mimiko Oluyemi Adeniyi Dapo Sarumi Femi Fani Kayode Iyorchia Alu Dora Akunyili David Jemibewon Tunde Adeniran Tim Menakaya Eyitayo Lambo Kema Chikwe e.t.c Yes I could vividly recall in the year 1999 that after the release of the list, an average Nigerian was expectant of how these people would carryout their various appointments reason because they had little or political past save for their occupation which majority of them excelled exceedingly.. Honestly I was expecting shock anouncements like distinguished and integrity proven Professors, Technocrats, Bureucrats which would have had us searching the nooks and crannies of google to gather a handful information about them. Now the reverse is the case. The same old war horses, names we are tired of hearing and some who actually excreted on their throne during their dispensation and latrine flies now lurking around them are the people Baba feels he could work with. Well goodluck to him, his dipensation and to Nigeria because "The tree's comfort is the bird's comfort" but my question is why the lenghty wait? Nigerians, do You think the just released ministerial list is actually worth the wait?? 'Falemara Bidemi writes from Ado-Ekiti' |
