OEPHIUS: Enugu CJ hails Ugwuanyi on new Court Buildings
…As gov presents 25 generators for Judges’ residences
The Chief Judge of Enugu State, Hon. Justice Priscilla Ngozi Emehelu has commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his unrelenting efforts and unreserved commitment towards the creation and sustenance of a conducive environment for the effective administration and dispensation of justice in the state.
Justice Emehelu, who spoke during the inauguration and formal handover of the twenty five 22KVA sound-proof generators procured by the Enugu State government for use at the residences of the Honourable Judges of the state, added that Gov. Ugwuanyi has achieved tremendous feats in the provision of suitable infrastructure and essential tools and equipment for the State Judiciary.
Represented by the Chief Registrar, Enugu State Judiciary, Mrs. Martha Aroh-Onuoha, the Chief Judge also applauded the governor for the massive construction of Magistrate Courts in the 17 Local Government Areas of the state as well as High Court complexes and a number of open Registries in the Judicial Divisions in the state.
Hon. Justice Emehelu disclosed that many projects are ongoing in the State Judiciary since the inception of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, maintaining that the third arm of government has not had it so good before.
“We have never experienced this since the coming into power of civilian government. Since 1999, Enugu State Judiciary had been side-tracked and we had no infrastructure and many other things.
“Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi has shown us a new phase and we are now breathing fresh air. We want to thank him and reassure him that the Judges of Enugu State would continue to do their very best to make Enugu State proud”, she assured.
Presenting the generators, Gov. Ugwuanyi, who was also represented by the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Miletus Eze, reiterated his administration’s commitment “to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the Judiciary in Enugu State is suitably equipped and empowered to deliver its mandate as an independent arm of government”.
According to him, “this is the only way to enhance the dignity, efficiency, productivity and safety of our courts and also increase the confidence of all court users”. #amokelouis

[quote author=Ebullience post=71253416]Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced his bid to seek the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 Lagos governorship election. Sanwo-Olu made his intention known on Sunday while addressing his supporters at City Hall, Lagos. The governorship aspirant says he intends to make Lagos the “greatest, most vibrant city on the African continent, taking its rightful place in the comity of states around the globe”. He said: “I have a vision for a Lagos with modern and affordable transport system, impeccable public health facilities, world class educational institutions, where we succeed in educating and skilling our youth, especially our children. “A vision for a Lagos where our children are educated and our youth are highly-skilled, healthy, free of hunger, illiteracy, disease and destitution. “There’s a lot of work to be done to achieve the Lagos of our dream.” Sanwo-Olu said he “will be a good party man and run an inclusive government” while he also commended Babatunde Fashola, former Lagos governor, for his efforts while leading the state. The former banker is believed to have the backing of Mandate Movement, a group loyal to Bola Tinubu, national leader of the party. In 2003, Sanwo-Olu served as special adviser on corporate matters to Femi Pedro, former deputy governor of Lagos. He will contest against Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos governor, for the APC ticket. https://www.thecable.ng/sanwo-olu-declares-bid-challenge-ambode-lagos-apc-guber-ticket/[/quot AMBODE FOR VICE PRESIDENT PDP!!! |

When Ojukwu projected Biafra dream for them, they sabotaged it. Nnamdi Kanu came and majority of them criticized him. Now your saviour Nigeria has betrayed them. They want to destroy their land, thinking that they are doing anybody. Hahah Ogoni land is so bad that it will take billions of dollars to clean up. The so called group want to cause more problem for their future kids. If you like bomb every corner of your land. The government of Nigeria will never listen to you. For how long shall you continue in the same pattern? You are a slave to Hausa Fulani's... The only way they will listen to you is when you bomb Abuja and Lagos and totally take responsibility of it. The whole world and Nigerian govt can take you serious. YOU ARE VERY VERY VERY CORRECT. ATLAS COVE BOMBING IN LAGOS MADE THE FG TO GRANT AMNESTY. |

The lawmakers stated this after a closed-door meeting of the Joint Committee chaired by Senator Suleiman Nazif (APC, Bauchi).
Nazif, who read out the resolution of the Joint Committee to newsmen in Abuja, said, "As you are aware, our last meeting was held on August 17.
"We decided to resume today August 27, to consider the harmonised budget of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
"The Joint Committee has sat and we have deliberated a position to adopt the N143 billion earlier presented to us by President Muhammadu Buhari.
"It is the wish of this Committee that INEC present the N143 billion as requested by Mr. President.

fk001: Why? Because an Igbo is the deputy Senate president in this current Senate leadership. So making akpabio the Senate president will leave IGBOs out of the Leadership. Since a south south And south east can't be heading the Senate at the same time. And no sane strategic govt will want to do at this time election is close. It will put APC in the bad light with the Igbos. APC should just support an Igbo man as Senate president and a middle belt like AKUME deputy or AKUME Senate president and igbo deputy. Else Igbos in APC will decamp.Making APC a mokery again. God bless Nigeria. |
