can you please send me a link you registered your details on WES? i got on their website but i couldn't get to where i will register pls help a sis out.

thanks

Tolz451:
Hi,

Please, I have a quick question. I'm about to do my wife's certificate verification through WES. She has only a Bachelor's Degree. I was thinking the B.Sc certificate and transcript was all that will be required but surprisingly, WES requested for WAEC transcripts too.

Could it be that I didn't fill out the forms properly or is that the standard requirement?

Also, how does one obtain WAEC transcript?

Thank you.

My CBP story __

We flew Delta 22nd of May, me and my L.O. The ticket was cost as F*ck but we had choice because of the stress in flying them golf countries ( Etihad, Emirates & Qatar ) airlines.
We got to ATLANTA 5.25am, 41 mins ahead of schedule. FROM PLANE TO CPB- The QUEUE was moderate.

ME- Good morning
CBP- Good morning

I handed over our passports to him

CBP- Where are you going this morning?
ME- CHICAGO.

CBP- How long are you going to stay?
ME- 4 months.

CBP- Why are you staying that long?
ME- I am here on a vacation and childbirth

CBP- Oh, you going to have your baby here?
Me- YesKe

CBP- So, how much cash are you traveling with?
ME- $10,715 in cash and i have another $7,660 in my master card

CBP- Oh, that's over 10k, so i will have to send you over to customs to declare your cash
ME- Oh, ok. How do i go about that?

CBP- I'll call someone to put you through.
ME- OK, thanks.

CBP- Pls move over there and put your 4 fingers for thumbprint after that camera.

ME- Done with that...

CBP- So, it's just two of you traveling?
Me- Yes.

That's all.

HE STAMPED ME IN TILL NOVEMBER.

HE CALLED A LADY OVER TO COME TAKE US TO THE CUSTOMS, HE GAVE HER MY PASSPORT AND A CUSTOM FORM, THEN RETURN MY L.O's PASSPORT TO ME.

We got to the customs, waited till my turn ( about 15 mins )

2nd CBP-

Held my passport but couldn't pronounce my name
so, he was looking at the pic to ask if it was mine so i could come over to the counter, so moved closer and smiled and he said ( am sorry i couldn't pronounce your name ) then i said it's fine.

so he asked.

CBP- how much you have on you?
ME- $10,715 and i have another $7,660 in my master card.

CBP- Why do you have that much?
ME- I am here to for Vacation n Childbirth.

CBP- Oh, you are pregnant?
ME- Yes.

CBP- How far long are you and when are you due?
ME- August.

HE ASKED TO SEE THE CASH, I SHOWED HIM THE ENVELOP ABOUT TO BRING OUT THE CASH, HE SAID NEVER MIND. ( I GUESS HE JUST WANTED TO SEE THE CASH )

CBP- Ok. You have to fill this cash declaration form ( i did )
He then asked, is it your first time of filling those forms, ( i said yes )

CBP- Is your husband coming too?
ME- Hopefully.

He handed my passport back and said Enjoy your stay.

NOTE--

No document were checked, not even my LO's receipts.

I wish every mama n papa on this trend good luck, Y"all shall share good news too.

Wow i was having a bad day until i read your story, How wonderful. Thank you for sharing, Wish you, myself and everyone the best. Cheers. x

shakidude:
Hello all,

Continuation of my experience.

Part 2:

After I was denied the visa renewal in Abuja, I contemplated going to Canada but found out that it takes about 4 month for visa processing and I'm far gone in my pregnancy. Hubby planned to send me to UK (I have a valid UK visa and family there.) since my pregnancy is high risk but me I was skeptical. If we are going to spend that much for birthing, it's better in the US where I get to have d health care that I want and also citizenship for my baby. I decided to try again this time in Lagos (exactly 2 weeks) as earlier adviced then by nefertitiram, misssexiest and others here but I went alone cos hubby was not interested.

Here goes the transcript:

VO: good morn ma'am
Me: good morn
VO: where are you going in the US and why?
Me: Texas and to have my baby
VO: what do you do?
Me: I'm a physical therapist(physiotherapist)
VO: what are your roles?
Me well composed, told him a lot about all I do
VO: nodding and smiling. Okay, let's say I have left shoulder dislocation, how are you going to manage it?
Me: in my mind, I was like, is this a promotion interview or visa interview? Still calm and smiling I told him about how i will first assess him and how I will rehabilitate him till he will regain  functional use of his limb.
VO: impressed. Now glanced to d screen and read for a while. Turned to me and said. I see that you were recently refused in abuja
Me: that's correct
VO: do you know why?
Me: No I don't she no kuku tell me. Na green paper she give me.
VO: I also see that you have applied for all your visas in Abuja. Why have you decided to come to Lagos this time?
Me: like I said earlier. I was refused in Abuja and couldnt understand why and I wanted to reapply as soon as possible and I was under the impression that I will get a faster date in Lagos.
VO: how much are you paying for the birth?
Me: this time, I didn't bother to ask whether na doctor's fee or total. My budget is 20k. About 8500 for the doctor and other expenses
VO: can i see ur Dr's correspondence
Me: handed it over and he read through it
VO: how much did you pay the last time
Me: Though the hospital fee was  4200, I rented an apartment and paid 1500, I flew to Arizona with my husband, I bought groceries and others so if I calculate everything, I will say about 8 to 9k
VO: why are you not going to this same hospital this time around?
Me: this time I'm going alone. I can't afford to stay alone in Arizona without my husband since I have no family or friend there. I'm going to Texas to stay with a friend.
VO: how did you find out about this hospital
Me: smiled and answered. I did research online.
VO: He began typing for so long ooooo and I'm like wow! I hope he's not going to deny me again. Na so I begin fire prayer
VO: looked at me and said excuse me ma'am. He went inside with my passport oooo. I knew i had done my best and he was impressed with me. So maybe he went inside for further discussions. I continued praying and asked God to take control.
VO: came out much later with a bright smile. Congratulations ma'am, your visa has been approved. At that point, I went to Cloud 7 abi na 9 self.
Me: thank you, thank you.

I prayed before I went and friends and family prayed with me. I give the glory  to God for directing me to the right person and staying with me throughout the process.

Conclusion: If you are really convinced in your heart that you have not done anything wrong, never lied during your application or interview but was still refused, apply again, go with confidence and state your case. Most importantly, avoid Abuja embassy now if you are pregnant and going for visa renewal, they already have a mindset for refusal and it would be very hard to convince them.

Good luck to others.

a fine advice, @Shawbabe. Ma''am fill in your reservation address and tell the CBP you don't know anyone in US if the question comes up. After you go pass CPB then you can head to anywhere you want.

Shawbabe:

I don't think it really matters which one you put. I would put the hotel reservation address if it was me though. Reason being that your friend's hands might not be all that "clean". Next thing they start asking how you know him/her.
The way I see it is, until I pass immigration.....I no know anybody except my immediate fam. Shikena lol

It is 4 years not 1 year. SO there is really no rush

you have to rush.. it's 1 year o . They wrote 4 years on their website but when you are completing the appointment form then you will see its 1 year.

I have gone through the process before so, i know what am talking about.

You can present yours too just for support but your husband's has to be major.

yes, DS 160 details has to be tally with your hotel reservation.

the major has to be hospital n doc. bills which you already settled so, the rest is secondary.

wish u all the best with ur interview.

cheers.

missieytea:
Please I'm very New here and I have a couple of questions concerning travelling to the US to give birth.
1. Do I need to present my own bank account statement at the interview since my husband is sponsoring the whole trip or can I be asked to present it?
2. Does the length of stay I filled in the DS 160 form need to tally with my hotel reservation confirmation.
3. I have paid all my hospital bills as at now so it's remaining funds for the other things like feeding, accommodation etc. Is it a problem if I don't have the funds for that before the interview?? But I will definitely have it before traveling.
Thank you

justwise:

No its not a plus because they alway ask you during the interview what you are going to US to do and many give answers like..vacation. see family bla bla bla.

That is an opportunity to declare your true intention of applying for that visa, they don't have to ask you specifically about child birth.

Letter of change of intention is not a short cut here and it has been abused far too many times.

Why do we always remember to use the visa for child birth AFTER getting the visa?

Hi everyone, please i need ut help. I just joined this group. And i only got to know that i might have committed a blunder. I applied for a B1/B2 Visa and had my interview in December. But i didnt tell the VO that i was pregnant. I just said i was going on vacation in April. I realized that was a huge mistake. Please what do i do now since i was issued the visa. My EDD is in June Should i travel to the US in February for about 2 weeks then go back again in May to give birth?
Secondly, i told them i was going to stay with family in Philadelphia. Do i have to go to Philadephia or I can go to see other family anywhere else?
Thanks a lot

Make sure u don't travel to anywhere but Philly but u can travel to another state after ur first trip. Did the VO asked if u were pregnant and u said no? if that is the case, that isn't look good but if HE/SHE didn't ask, u can claim u weren't asked when u went for ur visa interview when thE question comes up at the POF. All that matters is grace of God. x
