Zidane was red carded against Saudi Arabia the second game in which he scored. He missed the game against Denmark and Paraguay in the second round. Yes 1998 wasn't his best tournament but he stood up to be counted for his country when they needed him the most. Same for Euro 2000 and the 2006 World Cup. I can say without any fear of contradiction if Zidane was on the pitch for the penalty shootout in the final against Italy they would definitely have won.

They did not need Zidane to excel. That was how good they were. They could drop the likes of Cantona and Ginola. Leave out Karembu and a host of big names from the starting line up and do well.

By the Euros, Zidane was playing with big names too.

Zidane could miss playing two full games and get a red card in another match in a tournament and still win the world cup. The French team were stellar. Give de Bruyne the likes of Lizarazu, Thuram, Petit, Dugarry and others and see him remake history.

Remember France could drop the likes of Cantona, Ginola. Vieira, Henry, Trezeguet, Ba, Lama on the bench. That was how stellar the French team was.

The question I keep asking and I have not gotten an answer is this… How come all the clubs Nwakali has journeyed through… from Arsenal to all the others, With all the professionals working with him everyday, non of them spotted the super natural abilities you guys claim he has? Yet this same clubs unearth gems season by season.
