Content creators are doing the most to be relevant. Sad world we live in.

It's the sad reality of today. Everything is content. I was on YouTube and someone was streaming herself washing plates. The tech platforms want us hooked to their sites and we are willing slaves beholden to them. Without us, their sites are dead, including Nairaland. Imagine everyone saying they won't post on Facebook for a day, their shares will plummet. But I am dreaming because to keep users hooked, these companies are rewarding content creators who don't realize they are working for the tech companies and advertisers.

I don't like commenting on incomplete social media posts. It's like a movie director who tells us the beginning of the story and wants the viewers to complete it for him with their imagination.

Most of these stories don't have contexts, it's just content for the readers to fill the gap. Pathetic attitude.

This will discourage more people going to the USA for education, something they are already losing out from since Trump started attacking here and there.

Trump said he will make America first but it's an illusion to think that everyone but America is the problem. By instilling fear into people, America will lose out on his soft position to attract the brightest mind and influence the world. Other countries will take advantage of this. America always prided itself as the home of democracy and free speech where thinking was allowed, especially at the intellectual level. Now, even America's neighbor, Canadians are no longer interested in going to the U.S. So for those who think it's just about sticking to you position or they think this is Christian VS Muslim, you are naive. The world is a much bigger place than your narrow view of the world.

I have no position in the matter but the truth is that USA will suffer for this because the only reason they used to do most of these activism around the world was for soft power. They will lose it in the next few years. Other countries will start forming alliances. Canada closed its borders to international students thinking it was to pacify Trump but once people start calling the bluff of Trump, they will seize the opportunity of the US loss. US falsely believes it can stay alone under Trump but the combined power of EU is stronger than US and Russia. Trump himself is afraid of currency blocs outside the dollar but there is no action without reaction.

For the right wing, they always think immigrants are mostly the problem. The truth is, the hunger of immigrants cannot match the laid-back attitude of the citizens whose politicians have deceived them and denied them good quality education they can no longer afford. That same education is what others see and come to the US. I wish the US the best but I clearly remember that during apartheid in South Africa, US institutions played a role in the discrimination.

Kids turning 18 should be taught how to take care of people, work for people and serving people. They need that humility reset to understand how live works.

Whether we like it or not, once you know there is backup somewhere, your brain will die, your hustle will stop, your potential will be impacted because in your mind, you know you can afford to do anyhow. It's psychological and I have seen what estates do to adults. You see the beast in them. People who are grandparents, they start to fight each other. Their eyes is on daddy's work. I don't believe in entitled children, I am also not saying you should be wicked to your children but this is my view, once you die, you don't know what the living are doing. Build your children to survive every season and geography. What if government confiscates the assets? Think about the worst that can happen if the estate does not get to the kids or if the people you entrusted cheated them, CAN THEY SURVIVE?

My comment is not a problem. Your interpretation of my comment is your problem. By reading my comment, you have made your own conclusions that I am not responsible for. You campaigned for change, you said you could do better, you said those guys were bad. What did you give me in return? Sermon of excuses. That's the story of APC taking over from PDP.

PDP were not the best but hindsight has shown APC was only interested in grabbing power and now they are running away with it in Asiwaju's words. PDP could manage the frailites of Nigeria's diversity. These ones don't care. The fabric that unites us, they can let it burn just to stay in power. Today, I cannot post without people looking at it from tribe. Was it that bad 10 years ago? Ask yourself who turned Nigeria into a country where we are now so suspicious of ourselves.

Whether it's APC or PDP, I don't care. All I want is good governance for the people of Nigeria, for my generation and beyond. Why would pointing out what's wrong become a problem? If you cannot accept criticism APC, don't give it out. But it's too late, you already gave it out and now you are on the other side and whether you like it or not, you will be judged by your promises. .

This is a good swipe at the Government that does out cash or money transfer or whatever they called it in the name of elections or Humanitarian Disaster Recovery they put us into.

The APC government today wants to enslave Nigerians so they can depend on them. That is why the other day someone said Professors should quickly get government appointment from Ibas even if it's illegal so they can cash out. He said they should take the opportunity when it comes to them. That's the immoral level APC has taken us to where you name the price and they will buy you.

It is so sad because before they came in, they advertised the best ideas. If only Nigerians knew they devil they knew in PDP was still better than these FAKE APC Angels.

APC has reduced governance to bambiala where you beg them for giving you money out of government wallet, your own money. Imagine a whole VP giving cash, Ministers giving cash. If PDP tried this before 2015, it would have been the scandal of the year they won't let us hear anything except kwaraption kwaraption kwaraption. Hypocrites

I specifically attended his concert in the early 2010’s in US and it was packed full. The venue was even too small and oversold. He also went to several other states and countries. Let’s not talk about the albums that sold and his songs still making money on YouTube. Then he also performs live. He also is not promiscuous so the money go far.

Even Sunny Ade with him many wives and children is probably very wealthy but he does not flaunt. If he start to flaunt now jealous and envious lazy people will start spreading rumor. They also look down on Ayefele because he’s disabled. They think it’s not possible. That man is on stage in wheelchair hustling and he’s a very excellent performer. No dull moment. Lazy people who sit on internet all day talking trash cannot believe it. Instead of them to go and find work to do.

I like the part where he did not relent on showbiz alone but built something out of his journalism stint. Many people only see the radio stations today, some of them don't know he was streaming online like we have content creators online now. He could have stopped at Fresh FM Ibadan but he kept expanding. He could have stopped when Ajimobi destroyed his studio.

People miss the stories a lot, they only see the part they love to see.

Edit: Young Nigerians think music is only about hip hop and Afrobeat and those that are popular in pop culture. They can't wrap their heads around how any other genre can be successful. Beautiful Nubia, Seun Kuti can go on tours in European countries but Nigerians don't listen to them so in their minds, they are not artistes 'making it'.

Okay, I understand now and agree. That's a lazy man's excuse for failure. Always justifying their own failure because they simply can't explain someone's success. They say the cheapest form of people talk about other people so his personal life is none of anyone's business. People don't see the building blocks, they only see the building. Jazz cannot last for a long time or else we would have had many millionaires who made their money through jazz prospering and doing well. Someone who does not work for money cannot build a good structure, so for Ayefele to build Fresh FM (he always talks about the challenges he faced when he was trying to get the license and how people deceived him) to now expand to 9 stations is grit and determination. People don't see how many times you tried and failed, they only see when you succeeded. This is why I enjoy interviews, you get to know the person more.

I see it differently, I don't think he was discouraging him from working. Difrent was telling him not to cherry pick a person's life and the part they like just because they think that's the whole story.

In one of Ayefele's interview, he said he likes people being around him and he keeps working to remove the depression caused the accident. The truth is we don't know people until we live with them. Many people want to be rich and famous but they don't want the sacrifice that it takes. They only want the product. If God said I'll make you rich but you will be blind, what will you say? There are many people who are rich and famous, they look okay but maybe they have family problems, mental problems or one addiction.
It's only when you live their lives for one day you will see the other side you don't want. Therefore, be happy with your own journey and what has been given to you.

Because in history, there are people outside Lagos in South West who will never move to Lagos. Ibadan was the Regional capital at a time and you'll get known there before Lagos hears about it. Most people think if Lagos does not know about something, it doesn't exist. That's not true.

If you wanted to know who was popular, you had to be known in Oyo before Lagos hears about you. Lagos was also Nigeria's capital until the 90s and remained a commercial capital, so people saw it as a place to do business or meet government and go back home. Ayefele himself is from Ekiti state, not Oyo State.
