wonder233: And the disaster continues... Tinubu, just like Buhari... Same old man who is an ethnic god, who desperately wants to fulfil a lifelong ambition, voted in by 2sets of people: ethnic bigots and religious fanatics. Those of us who genuinely wanted a change are not many unfortunately. The bigots are much more in numbers, lets be honest. The bitter truth is that Tinubu ACTUALLY won the elections, the larger part of the southwest voted for him on ethnic loyalty ground, while up north, their clerics told them the muslim-muslim ticket was too juicy to pass up. Atiku had always been regarded as a munafikeen during all the time he romanced the southeast, so APC had all their votes. As for Obi, the muslim northerner would rather die of hunger, banditry than vote "an infidel". And you can't win Nigeria if you can't take even if its a quarter at least of such a vast demographic as the muslim north. That chasm was too wide, it cost Obi the elections, forget about the riggings here and there in the south, those were to pad up Tinubu's numbers to make the victory gap wider than it actually was. Lets brace up for the next 8years, anyone that can get out, should. Tinubu never use 1 week in power, nah him you don dey wail this much |

Politics › By July 2023 Oil Production Will Hit 1.8 Million Barrels Per Day – Mele Kyari by Parachoko(op): 10:05pm On Jun 02, 2023 |
Mele Kyari, the GCEO of the NNPCL has said that by July 2023, the country’s oil production will hit 1.8 million barrels per day. According to Kyari, the focus should not just be on crude oil but also on condensate production; which sometimes is more expensive than crude oil. There are interventions to ensure that Nigeria tackles crude oil theft and other oil production sabotages. Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has said that by July 2023, Nigeria’s crude oil production will reach 1.8 million barrels per day and 2 million barrels per day by December 2023. He said this during an interview on Channels Television on June 1. During the interview, Kyari said Nigerians must understand that when it comes to crude oil production, condensates are just as important as crude oil and should also be classified as liquids, adding up to the country’s overall production output. He said: “The budget of this country is based on the cumulative production of our crude oil and condensates Mind you, sometimes, these condensates are more expensive than the crude oil, so it’s the total liquids we are dealing with. “The total number of liquids as of today is up to 1.6 million barrels per day. We have a line of sight, by the end of July, we will hit 1.8 million barrels per day, and we will hit 2 million barrels per day by the end of December.” He further stated that President Tinubu has already instructed the security agencies to tackle all security threats and the additional layers of intervention as well as increased investments will enable Nigeria to realize these oil production goals. Local oil production During the interview, Kyari said that when the Dangote Refinery starts churning out products, they will be transported across the country using trucks. He highlighted the fact that the Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries will come onstream by the end of the year. He said: “We did have some supply chain issues which is a global problem. There is a crisis in the global marine sector. Getting products to the locations is a huge challenge and we had some delays in the delivery of some of our equipment. “However, the ambition is to get all our refineries working and the net effect is that this country will become an exporter of petroleum products.” What you should know In April 2023, Nigeria produced 998,602 barrels per day of crude oil, 66,317 barrels per day of blended condensates, and 180,110 barrels per day of unblended condensates. These figures make up 1.2 million barrels per day recorded for the month of April 2023. Meanwhile, the country continues to face oil production threats ranging from the shift to renewable energy which has resulted in a lack of oil-centric investments, economic, political, and security risks, crude production sabotage as well as pipeline vandalism, and technical issues. https://nairametrics.com/2023/06/02/dont-miss-by-july-2023-oil-production-will-hit-1-8-million-barrels-per-day-mele-kyari/ |

proeast: Hahahaha, parachoko and fellow APC goons are now on overdrive trying to justify rubbish. Firstly, they paid influencers in Benin republic to start Twitter campaign on how Nigeria subsidy is benefiting their country, then they brought the thread to our attention in Nigeria to see why subsidy must be removed
Again, they've brought another propaganda from Angola. They didn't even acknowledge the part where their authorities said they will REDUCE spending on subsidy, NOT REMOVAL o
"...Subsidies on other petroleum products, such as diesel, cooking oil, and gasoil (a type of diesel), will remain unchanged, he said."
Angola is still paying subsidy on diesel, cooking oil and gasoil. Yet Nigeria has long removed subsidy on all those fuels!!!
I won't be surprised if they bring other propaganda and dubious news from Cameroun or Ghana tomorrow.

Politics › Like Nigeria, Angola Cuts Petrol Subsidy ‘to Promote Economic Growth’ by Parachoko(op): 6:49pm On Jun 02, 2023 |
Angola says it has decided to reduce its spending on petrol subsidy, according to a report by Bloomberg. After the cabinet meeting on Thursday in Luanda, the country’s capital, Manuel Junior, minister of state for economic coordination, said the subsidy reduction will take effect from Friday. He said this would lead to an increase in the price of petrol from the current 160 kwanzas (about $0.27) per litre, to 300 kwanzas (about $0.51) per litre. The change in price represents an 87.5 percent rise, starting from 1.00 am, on Friday. Subsidies on other petroleum products, such as diesel, cooking oil, and gasoil (a type of diesel), will remain unchanged, he said. The minister said the removal of petrol subsidy is “a necessary measure to promote solid economic growth capable of addressing the serious problems facing the country”. Junior said Angola’s expenditures on fuel subsidies amounted to $3.8 billion in 2022. On her part, Vera Daves, Angola’s minister of finance, said removing the petrol subsidy was a sovereign decision of the Angolan state and was not influenced by external pressure from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). According to a government report obtained by Xinhua, Angola’s ministry of finance had put forth a proposal for a phased reduction of petrol subsidy beginning in the second quarter of 2023. The report also recommended a gradual and progressive removal of the subsidy on diesel and illuminating oil prices, with the process projected to last until 2025. Angola has the fourth-lowest petrol prices in the world ($0.28) after Libya, Iran, and Venezuela, according to data compiled by Globalpetrolprices.com. According to a report released on May 11 by the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Angola is Africa’s top crude oil producer, with production averaging 1.06 million barrels per day in April. POST-SUBSIDY EFFECTS PERCOLATE NIGERIA The country’s petrol subsidy cutback comes at a time when Nigeria, Africa’s major oil-producing country, is experiencing post-subsidy realities. President Bola Tinubu, in his inaugural speech on May 29, made a pronouncement that the petrol subsidy payments had stopped. However, the president’s media team later clarified that the implementation of the policy would commence this month. But the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited said it adjusted the price of petrol, across its retail outlets — a situation typical of a subsidy-free regime. The national oil firm said the adjusted pump price was in tandem with market realities. Explaining the rationale behind NNPC’s move, Mele Kyari, the national oil company’s group chief executive officer (GCEO), said the removal of the petrol subsidy would promote competition and regulate consumption. “The prices we are seeing today at our station are the current market price of the commodity. So, what this means is that prices in the market can go down at any time and of course, the market will adjust itself,” he had said. https://www.thecable.ng/like-nigeria-angola-cuts-petrol-subsidy-to-promote-solid-economic-growth/amp |

proeast: Pls what's the average IQ of Nigerians? I'm guessing it will be among the lowest in the world. Otherwise, I can't believe that a poor man who can't even feed his family or provide basic things for them would support the government on subsidy removal.
Like seriously?
No other country on Earth will pass through half of what Nigerians are passing through in the hands of their demonic rulers and still remain docile!
Many people I know in Lagos and Abuja are currently living in deficit. That is, they're spending more than they're earning now! Only transportation and food alone has taken all their income. Such grueling situation is apparently not sustainable.
If they remove subsidy, bear it mind that they will definitely loot the money! So, only gullible ones are supporting these wicked politicians.
Every Nigerian must support NLC now 💯. If it means staging protests, please come out in full force! If it means staying at home, pls comply 💯. After all, it's an opportunity to save money from transportation now it's so unaffordable.
A sensitive and compassionate government will first provide cushions before attempting to remove subsidy. They should also fight corruption first. Reduce their crazy salaries and bogus allowances. Stop constant travels abroad. Stop oil theft etc. All that will help in stabilizing our economy. Not this evil plans to make every Nigerian dirt poor while the politicians and their families swim in massive wealth.
Enough is enough! If una like Make una protest till May 29 2027, subsidy is gone with the last regime. |
