If you guy had this argument when reg was on, it would have been fair, sweet and awesome......now everyone gets disappointed when they see an epistle after refreshing their browsers.
Ugo4u........help out sanity na you can only speak for yourself sir. This is an opportunity for you to learn, and if you think you don't need the argument allow others to learn. We want a better army, we can only get the army we all desire by separating the wheat from the Chaff. |

blessings2017: Sorry @MissChristine I can't fathom this pm thing . I saw you sent a message alongside a couple others but couldn't find it in my mail. I feel Q&A should be discussed on the forum for reference purposes.
I was actually writing a detailed story (shortlanding-NCA exams- Calgary social life with pics) on MS-word a few weeks back but somehow I lost the file. Been tired and super-busy to start from the scratch again . I guess I'd drop some in at intervals.
Taking a cue from @Vcole's suggestion, I'd start from generality (official website links et al) to particulars if need be.
For every Foreign-trained lawyer (FTL) looking to practice in Canada, you MUST challenge (write) the NCA exams (it's an open-book, no NCA-past-questions handout which has a Pass/Fail grading system where 50 and above 'issa' Pass )
Your go-to website: https://flsc.ca/national-committee-on-accreditation-nca/ All the info you need is there.
NCA assessment process: https://flsc.ca/national-committee-on-accreditation-nca/applying-to-the-nca/
five step process involved in each NCA assessment; 1) You submit your application with required documentation and payment; 2) The NCA reviews and assesses your credentials; 3) The NCA notifies you of assignments or deficiencies; 4) You complete your assigned requirements; and 5) The NCA issues a Certificate of Qualification.
NCA is just the first step as each province has it's distinct requirements to apply for admission into their law society. My province of interest is Alberta and if it's yours as well, then you'd find these links useful -
1. https://www.lawsociety.ab.ca/lawyers-and-students/membership-services/internationally-trained-lawyers-and-graduates/
2. https://www.lawsociety.ab.ca/resource-centre/student-resources/beginning-again-internationally-trained-lawyers/
Other FTL's can chip in requirements for other provinces.
I was deliberate not to do a summary by providing official links as I believe if you need to actually read up from the website. I guess that's it for the general section. The other post(s) would address some particular questions with my experience in view. |

4Barr: 1. Get your credentials assessed by the NCA (LLB, BL, Letter of good standing from the NBA) 2. Write the exams assessed by the NCA - This is an average of five exams depending on your core LLB courses and can be completed within a year or less depending on your schedule and pocket(). 3. Pass the exams and get a certificate of qualification from the NCA 4. Apply and register with a law society of the your choice province. Remember you will have to apply again to another province if you change your province. 5. Enroll in the Articling program for a year or apply for waiver (this is a long-shot but some people have tried it before based on their years of experience and got it reduced to six months). In Ontario you will also have to write the Bar exams separately but in Alberta they do CPLED during the Articling programme instead. There's also an alternative to Articling in Ontario which is done through a Law school. 6. Upon completion of your Articling programme, you get called to the Bar and you can start enjoying the fruit of your labour. |

ugo4u: Honestly speaking, I don't know whether to call this hate or jealousy, I would have ignored you but silence atimes is not golden. I wonder why you will just wake-up one day and spill bile about someone you've not met before, see whatever you call yourself I'm not a perfect person but one thing I've never done in my life is to collect what doesn't belongs to me by force or dubious means, I'm not covetous and I'm satisfied with the little I have, you might be surprised why someone will be wasting his energy helping anonymous people without any strings attached. I don't know if you have being scammed by someone in the past but it is very wrong to paint everybody with one brush most especially when you've not met them or have something to do with them before. Helping people have being part of my philosophy, infact if I am in a better position to do more I will happily do so without batting an eyelid, the only regret I have is not always doing more when I have the means to do so, I don't seek reward from man because I know God in heaven is the rewarder of men and good deeds and that is my consolation. It is heart breaking for you to accuse me wrongly of nothing I know of or ever dream of doing. I have met some guys here physically and by God's grace non will accuse me of ever scamming them rather I will even be the giver if need me. I don't know the motive for your accusations, neither will I exchange words with you but I have just one thing to say Never be too quick to judge people you have not met the world is a small place ugo u shouldn't have replied them. I have one prayer for you. May God continue to bless you, in all your endeavours Bro. |

Mynd44: The problem is not that he forgot to add the account. It is the cash flow.
If he hasn't touched his salary account in years, how has he been feeding and the likes? That is why people hide certain accounts.
Also the movement of money in and out are suspect and that is why he is in front of the tribunal if it was about the cash flow, then it's shifts to the EFCC and not CCB. |
