Politics / Re: Supporting Nigeria Against Biafra Was Our Greatest Mistake — Asari Dokubo by paragonpro: 6:32am On May 06, 2013
The NigerIan civil war ended 43 years ago, how old was Dokubo then. How old was Dokubo at the start of the civil war. Was he the one that made the decision to support biafra against Nigeria? Should he be the spokes person for those that fought the civil war?

The funniest thing about the nigerian civil war is that those that actually fought the war talk less about the war, but those born after the war run their mouths and emotions as if they have hear the sound of a gun shot before.

Dokubo is just carrying out Jonatha's strategy for 2015, whipping up emotiona sentiments against the northerners, drive a wedge between the yoruba and hausa/fulanis and curry the continued support of the igbos by telling them anything they want to hear.

If Jonathan really loved the igbos, he should sacrifice his 2015 ambition for an igbo candidate, because it would be very easy to get an igbo person into the presidency in 2015. It would be a virtual impossibility in 2019 as another person from the south cannot be president in 2019, and when it comes down south again in 2026, the yoruba would be favoured more than the south east.

Africans and Nigerians generally have a huge egocentric problem. When want our egos to be massaged regularly like a person with a masturbati0n addiction, it provides the same euphoric orgasmic feeling.

Why should a whole coordinating minister of the economy waste so much about the opinion of 1 person. It is even preposterous that the person is victimized for that opinion. No wonder "0ga at the top" syndrome pervades our work ethics and defines career progress, because every employee is not allowed to express a personal opinion but to ape or second guess the opinions of the boss.

The most honourable and sensible thing to to was for madam world bank to write a rejoiner disputing the opinion of the writer/accuser and people will see the follies in the accuser's argument.

Family / Re: He Wants Sex Every Night. by paragonpro: 1:53pm On Apr 13, 2013
byvan:

Every responsible married man knows that playing with vibrant kids alone is energy sapping.Kids don't ever give up on play until you are worn out.Let's say you came back to work around 6pm,took an hour to shower and have your meal, then spend the rest of the time with your kids while your wife is doing other things.at 11Pm,kids goes to bed and you do the laundry for an hour.Do you think if this circle repeats everyday, you can still have a hard- on on daily basis.

Don't you know that most married men fall asleep while waiting for their wives to finish up with chores so they can have "some"?I guess you are not married, even if you are,is obvious you are not the type that is usually available in your home.Don't you know that waiting for the kids alone to sleep might make you end up sleeping off without having the much anticipated "some".No matter how high your libido is,kids have a way of limiting intimate frequency.

you are making a lot of generalizing assumptions here. Maybe your experience in these matter is narrowed down to the assumptions you made above.

First not everyman enjoys playing with kids and even then lots of men and i mean lots suffer from insomnia, some men i know can only sleep after a gruesome session of se.x, while so,e drink themselves to sleep. I for one stay online and read till 1am before falling asleep only to wake up at 5am.

The OP's sister is probably the breadwinner and the man is jobless. But i bet the situation might not change much even if he is busy.

I use to run a bar on V/I, you would see top level busy executive leave office at 9, get to the bar past 9, drink till 12, pick up ashawo after to take to their guesthouse, and get back home to their wives by 2 only to resume again at the office for 8. Some people are just hyper active and have enormous source of energy.
Family / Re: He Wants Sex Every Night. by paragonpro: 1:25pm On Apr 13, 2013
This is one of the reason i do not agree with the no se.x before marriage proponents. Sexual compatibility is of utmost importance in marriage, and is usually the root cause of marital problems. Often one of the partners become sexually frustrated and seeks satisfaction elsewhere. I have seen reverse cases where the men run away from their homes, because their wives or girlfriend wants to kill them with se.x. I also have had friends that must have se.x at least two hour everyday, it does not matter if they work or are idle. Abacha was a typical example, he use to take 3 different girls to his guesthouse almost on a daily basis and sleeps with all of them, before resuming at his office in the morning. The wife had leant to accept the fact that her husband has a condition called sexual addiction.

If sexual addiction is the only problem in your sisters marriage, then she should find a solution to deal with it.

Ialso have a very close friend who had been complaining after 15 years of marriage and 5 kids, that he is not getting enough from his wife, he married another wife last year.

So i advice to intending couples to discuss se.x and sexual compatibility before saying i do.

Rossikk: Worthless article. If you travel abroad to sell drugs, it is Nigerian govt's fault. If you travel to do fraud, it is Nigerian govt's fault. If you travel to do prostitution, it is Nigerian govt's fault. If you travel abroad and keep your environment there dirty, it is Nigerian govt's fault. Tell me something. Does there come a time when these "perfect, innocent Nigerian citizens" actually take responsibility for their own actions?

It is amazing how you turn round and blame hapless, helpless and hopeless nigerians who travel out to due to conditions created by the government and past governments and exonerate the government from the nuisance constituted by citizens in foreign lands.

If our enormous oil earnings of $100 x 2.6 million barrel per day (well 60% of it) is judiciously used and not stolen (directly or indirectly), why would any nigerian youth travel abroad only to become a cheap prostitute or road side drug dealer?. Which other opec member country has its youth population constituting a nuisance in foreign lands. Nationals that constituting nuisance in foreign lands are usually those from war torn countries or failed (or failing) state. Nigeria seems to be a failing state where almost all institutions are breaking down (save the armed forces). And you say we should not blame the government.

I do not support discrimination targeted at nigerians or any other people. People should be dealt with on an individual basis. Any nigerian caught breaking the law in south Africa should be caught prosecuted and deported. You cannot label all nigerians as criminals, it is an insult to paint ever Nigerian as criminal.

That tablet should come pre rooted. Wonder why it's asking for root
If it's not rooted from factory, no hope here.
doesn't need superuser for you to know it's rooted. It grants access automatically. Check well.

I suspect the problem must have been caused by the attempt to root using unlock root. I did not know it comes prerooted. I would do a factory reset, ,maybe that would return it to the factory settings and leave it rooted.

Thank you for the info.

Abubakar, dont worry Nigerian Armed Robbers will put their own road block and the will take more than ROJA from road users.
It is better to discipline the police than to remove the road blocks.

How many armed robbers were caught because of road blocks? Roads blocks are an anomaly in peace time in any sane society. It is only used in emergency situations, in times of war or a breakdown in security. It is never a permanent feature. I doubt if even Israel that is in a permanent state of war has that many check points.

You have the whole issue mixed up.
First Peter Esele or the NLC does not represent the mass, they represent people who voted them into office, members of their various unions, and up to 80% of Nigerians do not belong to NLC or TUC, so the masses could not have instructed them to insist on N65.

Then even if you say they were representing the masses, then you have to show me the poll that shows the masses instructed Esele to insist on N65.

I never supported subsidy removal, but you cannot put all responsibility on one man. You must do your Own part to change the system.
Politics / Re: Ngozi Okonjo-iweala Must Resign – Prof. Tam David West by paragonpro: 4:56pm On Feb 05, 2012
In any sane country, given the shoddy way accounts are kept as revealed by the fuel subsidy probe, the finance minister, the CBN governor ( I had been a fan of Sanusi), the account general, petroleum minister and GMD NNPC, and PPPRA chairman should have all resigned in shame and be banned by their respective professional bodies.

But, Nigeria is not a sane society.

In a proper revolution, no one person takes the blame or glory. By the time the a revolution is credited to one man, it has failed “ab initio" We do not know or remember who led the french or US revolutions

Overkill
Much as I agree that Esele and Omar has little choice in the matter, I disagree with you that revolutions do no change situations. Revolutions had been the main driving force of social progress and subsequently political and economic progress of the industrialized countries. Revolutions succeed if it is carried out and lead by the people and not led by one person or group, or allowed to be high jacked by a group.
A good example is the Egyptian revolution, the masses has not allowed any group to high jack the revolution. So eventually the society would stabilize and be on the way to progress.
Politics / Re: Video: "i Did Not Betray Nigerians" Peter Esele Tuc President by paragonpro: 2:26pm On Feb 05, 2012
We have a lot of young immature people here. What did you expect peter esele to do? Why not tell me what you or your father would have done given the circumstances at that time. When on the history of Nigeria that the price revert back after price increase. Even the almighty Oshiomole was never able to get OBJ to reverse any of his numerous price increases.
Most of the people insulting Esele were sitting in the comfort of their homes during the strikes, why did they not go and face stone faced and hearted aboki soldiers at Ojota?

If there had been violent clashes or security breakdown, these same people will blame peter Esele.

Revolutions are not hinged on one man or group, it is a spontaneous reaction of the masses, including you. The Arab uprisings were not led by their NLC, TUC or even Islamic organizations, it was a spontaneous reaction by the people.

Politics / Re: FG Spends N4.8 Billion On School Fees For Ambassador's Children by paragonpro: 3:27pm On Feb 03, 2012
Is it only ambassadors that should have their children's school fees paid with tax payers money or the whole foreign service? What of military men putting their life on the line for the country? Should their children fees not be paid by government also? People ate talking as if diplomats are offering free service and are not paid salaries.
I can understand some western nations paying school fees for their diplomat's children, especially if their is a wide cultural and language barrier in the host country and also if there is free education available in their country. But in Nigeria where a clerk has no option than to pay through his nose to educate his wards, Big men are having free education in expensive schools abroad.

I wonder all other countries especially poor countries provide free expensive education for all their ambassador's children.
Politics / Re: FG Spends N4.8 Billion On School Fees For Ambassador's Children by paragonpro: 1:16pm On Feb 03, 2012
That is the most crazy thing I have ever heard. In Nigeria things have gone so back that the abnormal has become the norm. In other climes, public officials serve the public and ensure the welfare of the masses. In obodo Nigeria, the public serves public officials and pay for their house rent, school fees of their wards in expensive foreign schools, medical expenses for them and their families abroad, and every other perks as demanded by them.

How do we now expect to have a functioning educational system when even a newly elected local government chairman would not send his children to study in a nigerian university? Imagine what the N4.8 billion would do to our universities.

Can you please provide us with a book, a link or even a google search confirming this your fairy tale. Itsekiris were driven by the yorubas indeed, so when did this driving take place. Then show how Warri has now become an Ijaw word and what is its meaning?

What are you taking about? A very aggressive neighbour who has made a previous attempt to deny you the right to live in your ancestral land is being rumoured to be given the task of providing security for you, and you say they should not shout out to whoever can help. You might as well be saying the UN should hand over Israel's security to Iran and expect Israel not to shout out.

the main issue is that Dokubo has stated that he is a sworn enemy of the Itsekiris and he was the main sponsor of the conflict that killed thousands of Itsekiris and displaced tens of thousands others.

Nothing person no go hear for nairaland. Ijaws are now claiming warri. Tell me which Ijaw person you know in Warri that can trace his ancestry three generations back. I can trace my ancestry in warri to 5 generations to the beginning of the 17th century. The Ijaws came to my village less than 50 yrs ago and was given a parcel of land to do their mangrove tree cutting business and 50 years later they started claiming the land. When their foolish claims cannot be sustained in a court of law they started using intimidation tactics and threats. The reason Ijaws easily resort to violence in land matters instead of using judicial means is that none of their ridiculous claims can be sustained in a law court even if the judge was ijaw. ALL land disputes over land ownership in warri had been won by the Itsekiris. it is the same problem all other neighbouring tribes have with the Ijaws, give then 1 square KM of land and they would attempt to take a million after just 50 years. They now claim all itsekiri land, Bini land and even Yoruba land because the people were kind enough to allow them do business in their domain. They now even claim parts of Epe, Langbasa and Maijidun in Ikorodu.

Please show me any historical records that shows Ijaws are indigenous to Warri. All their so called monarchs are very recent creations.
Politics / Re: Declaration-of-war-jonathans-contracting-maritime-security-to-ijaws-is-an-act-of by paragonpro: 7:23am On Feb 02, 2012
People are now realizing the ultimate Ijaw agenda. Right from alams days they planned to take all lands in the riverine communities from delta to Lagos. The Ijaws launched a full scale genocidal attack on the itsekiri villages on a foolish excuse of protecting against the location of the headquarters of a local government to an itsekiri area. They did not stop until they were defeated in warri which was the last stronghold of the itsekiris. Today we are still trying to reclaim some villagers seized by the ijaws. In fact Dokubo gained popularity when he changed from being a political thug to Odili to bring an ethnic militia and then graduated to bring an oil theif. It is this same person that GEJ wants to hand over our maritime security to.
According to GEJ and his fellow Ijaws, Niger Delta starts and stops with Ijaws, almost all political appointments from the nigerDelta is of Ijaw extraction.

The Ijaws have even taken their land grabbing ambition to another level by proposing a Toribe state comprising all the lands of the riverine areas including Itsekiri, Bini, Ilaje lands. I think this maritime security plan is a strategic plan to achieve their expansion agenda, especially now that Nigeria is prone to splitting up.
