1stola:Seems from your post you are equally an animal. |
rightflank:Been making sound comments and inputs concerning this matter for the last few days already.....many threads have been created discussing SA and xenophobia with a lot of people just venting without much substance in their postings... If it flatters you - you can call me names all you like I don't really care - but this matter is a very complex one and it's not every Tom Dick and Harry who has access to the internet that will be able to analyse and understand it, and make comments with substance. Just look at this - how do you respond to someone still asking "What is their president saying about this?"....the president has been strongly condemning the attacks through parliament sessions, tv interviews and the like....but after almost a week and a half people come to the internet and ask stupid questions like that.... It's a tough and complex matter this that can not be properly understood without some deeper researching....killing innocent people can not be justifiable - attacking foreigners is not either. Which I must be very clear, I also don't support any form of attacks on innocent people (illegal immigrants or not), let alone kill them. But this matter is much deeper than that. |
rightflank:Like really now. You want somebody to tell you what the president has said? Thought you guessed you are smart, why don't you follow the news or google it? Its there infront of you....everywhere on the internet you will find speeches from the president about this....from parliamentary sessions to live tv interviews......jeez some people can be real slow. Like I have already said many times before.....many of you want to comment on this matter, yet it is so difficult for you guys to comprehend it...why not you dumbos group yourselves, fold your arms and stand in the corner.....and watch and listen those who are capable analyse and make comments on this complex matter....jeez dumbos give us all a break!!!!!! |
dasparrow:No where in my post did I say killing foreigners was a good thing...I even mentioned that yesterday SAns including me prayed for it to stop. There are guys here without a clue at all why they are here in the first place. The country is not doing very we economically so it can not support all of us. Those living clean and doing meaning things can stay....but those who think can take over Hillbrow, Sunnyside, Point Road etc, do ad they please, cause mayhem and make these places no go zones for other people....I have a huge problem with them. Don't kill them....just send them back to their countries. That's all. |
voyageaccess:Re-read my post again, and be careful to understand perfectly what I have said....especially if you wish to quote me. Else, leave this matter alone....its too complex for you to understand. Those of a broader understanding will school you on it. Thank you. |
Most of you guys do want to comment on this matter but unfortunately this matter is too complex for some of your to fully comprehend and analyse.....you therefore end up posting stuff that's of no any real value. Why don't you all group yourselves and stand in the corner there, fold your arms and watch and listen to those who are able to analyse and comprehend this matter making valuable inputs and comments....please man. We will update you with the developments of the day as they happen this side first hand. Thank you. |
chinli:Its either you leave this matter alone because I can realise its too complex for your weak mind to try and understand it.....or better still, go read my posts again and tell me where I said I supported the killings. Whatever you are trying to say about the barber thing I'm sure you don't even understand it yourself. |
rabzy:I don't have time for the likes of you...this matter is way beyond your reasoning and comprehensive ability, don't get into it, its late go sleep. |
futprintz:I don't have time for those of your type. Go to sleep its late now. |
naijafresh:You sound look like a sensible fellow. Let me try paint the picture for you. First Hans information not some rubbish from the internet. I personally do not have a problem with foreigners Nigerians etc who come here having a clear plan and valid reasons why they have to be here. In our office block we have two Nigerian guys, one running a males boutique and the other guy a combo of a saloon and a convenience shop. Clean shops these and good dealings...no funny stuff going on with these guys...that's good. I even enjoy talking to them a lot about Nigeria. So there are many SAns who share my view on this. On the flip side. There are many other foreigners who are here who don't have a clue at all why are they here in the first place. They only heard that things are better in SA and because of our porous ports of entry these guys woke up the following day and they are in SA. That what they have come to do, they don't have the faintest idea at all. I'm talking about foreigners from peaceful countries they are all here....Nigerians, Ghanaians, Cameroonians, Somalis, Ethiopians, Congolese, Mozambicans, Zimbabweans, Zambians, Basotho, Swazis (they even cross the borders to try and get on our social grants fraudulently e.g. elderly citizens monthly grants), Pakistanis, Chinese etc....everybody is here. Now, when these people that came without any plan of action get trapped in the frustrations of daily survival struggles - they end up doing crime - if you think I don't know what I'm talking about go to Hillbrow Jhb, Sunnyside Pta, Point Road Dbn...these are just few examples. If it were your own country you wouldn't like to witness what the foreigners are getting up to in these areas. I am not exaggerating. I know what I'm talking about. These areas have turned and become no go zones for SAns in their own country. That is not acceptable. I want to believe no SAns are doing that I'm Nigeria. How can you come all the way done here only to cut people's hair at R30.00 per cut or sell sweets by the pavement / roadside? It's not a viable thing to do....the poor chap must pay rent for his barber shop, pay rent where is accommodated, maintain himself, send money back home etc....it's just not viable through cutting people's hair or selling sweets. I live in Nelspruit. Anderson Street in town is a well know brothel zone where local girls are hooked on drugs and work as sex slaves for their Nigerian masters. Its not acceptable. There's even a joint called ka-Nigerian where sleaze is the order of the day. Not acceptable - sex work is a criminal activity by SAn law. Don't do it, especially if you are a foreigner respect the laws of your host. These guys most of them are not contributing anything through taxes. The country is not coping, its all too much. Government departments like health and housing are overburdened trying to offer services firstly to SAns and also the foreigners.... I mean free state services....mind you the country has her own challenges e.g. slow economic growth. So, some thing had to give at some point. Having said all this....I am totally against attacks on foreigners....all the cruel things that have been done is evil of the highest order. Almost the majority of SAns condemn these including government etc. Most churches in SA this past Sunday were praying for peace and calm...I did that too. Just this Monday, there is a big rally happening in the Durban CBD where the King Goodwill Zwelithini who is seen as an instigator to this will state his side....so will the politicians. I believe foreigners who are here because of valid and real reasons e.g. contributing to the economy through formal jobs that can be taxed, studying etc can remain here......but all the other guys like those cutting people's hair, selling sweets and cigarettes etc.....and all those roaming around aimlessly and loitterinf with nothing to do......need to seriously consider going back home to the countries of their origin. I hope I have painted a very clear picture of what is going on here. Thank you. |
scholes0:So what? We don't care if Asians, Europeans or Aliens built these schools...fact is they were built and are here in SA and are world class institutions. We, blacks run them. Been running them for the last 20yrs efficiently so....that's why they are still the best. Now, over to you self made Africans....what can you present? I will be proud myself if you as self made Africans can present something of note which every black man on the continent can be proud of....sadly nothing....until then my friend you have got nothing to say. |
generalissimo:You are posting for the sake of posting. Nothing of value at all. |
addey:Are SAns there cutting people's hair? If they are doing that they must therefore come home at once. |
addey:Insult as much as you want to. Sensationalism and lies will never help anything. If you got access to DStv tune in to SAn parliamentary channel and witness how this matter was dealt with at parliament level. Right now even those displaced people are taken care of at no cost to you but through my taxes. Stop your aloofness and false sense of self worthiness as a people....and may be things will be OK. The comments in this thread are so ignorant and ill informed it annoys me. |
bolajialuku:You are lying. Sensationalism. Spreading lies. Liar. |
xreal:You don't know what you are talking about. Leave this matter alone its beyond your scope of comprehension and analysis. |
naijafresh:Let them come I don't care. MTN didn't go to Nigeria to cut people's hair. Deal with that. Flying 8hrs coming here to cut people's hair. Nonsense. Do that at Akwa Ibom surely people do have hair over there. I repeat....you display some stinking attitude in even in foreign countries where you migrate to...that's your main problem. If you are so good as a people...remain therefore within your borders. |
I see. From the comments made by most of you here....I am only left with one thing to do, shake my head at how Nigerians think and approach things. Your cockiness and aloof view of yourselves is your lot most serious problem. That's what you even practice and do when even living in other people's countries. In my other postings I was sympathetic to affected Nigerians....but after reading most of your comments under this thread no normal person can stomach your cockiness and aloof view of yourselves. SAns are doing right by claiming back Hillbrow, Sunnyside, Point Road etc from the hands of the feared Nigerian drug lords and criminals who have turned these areas no go zones for SAns even in their own country. Nonsense. Unacceptable. Your cockiness and false sense of self worthiness as a people is annoying. For instance....someone will travel all the way from Cross Rivers to here only to cut people's hair for R 30.00 each. Why don't you cut people's hair in Cross Rivers? Don't people have hair over there? Nonsense. Your cockiness and aloofness have removed all my sympathy. Nonsense. I'm SAn by the way. |
garriboy:True my brother government should seriously jerk up policies. If I were to migrate to Nigeria there should be clear and valid reasons as to why. 2008 should have been a serious wake up call to everybody. |
garriboy:There is truth in what you are saying. But what I won't stand for is for some ignorant person somewhere in Akwa Ibom coming to the internet and post a lot of unresearched garbage. It is completely wrong to attack and burn foreigners, the government has condemned this, a march against the attacks was held last week....and just tomorrow there is a massive rally to be held in the Durban CBD where the King implicated as an instigator will clarify his stand and so will do the politicians. This has all been wrong. However, if you are here you will begin to see better how things are. There are people here from far away peaceful countries who do not have any idea or clue why are they here in the first place. Man, its crazy. Everybody is here. South Africa is struggling to properly servuce her own citizens ....now that we have everybody here government departments can hardly cope e.g. health and housing departments...the demands are just too high. Everybody is here....Somalis, Ethiopians, Malawians, Zimbabweans, Congolese, Zambians, Mozambicans, Basotho, Swazis, Cameroonians, Nigerians, Ghanains, Pakistanis, Chinese, etc....you name it, everybody is here. The country is not that resourced to satisfy everybody's aspirations. Those that came here with no clue as to why they must migrate here...get trapped in these miserable conditions and end up getting up to no good. Having said all this its still a very bad thing to attack and burn people...its grossly inhumane and very demonic. Rather discussions should be held that those foreigners just roaming aimlessly and loiterring around here, doing nothing sensible, be sent back to their countries. Few years back the government used to bus a lot of Mozambicans back home every month. That's the way to go. |
The other day I was in Ladysmith a town in KZN province....I needed a barbershop so I could get a haircut...when I got to one - it were foreigners busu cutting peoples hair and I was silently talking to mysrlf ....are there not people in their own countries who need haircuts? You come all the way here to cut people's hair and hope to make it big and call yourself a businessperson in a foreign land? No man. Things won't add up e.g. the guy must pay rent for the shop, pay rent in a flat or wherever they are accommodated, maintain themselves, send money back home etc.....all this from cutting people's hair in a foreign country? This can be easily done in ones' country of birth probably with better profit margins. |
teeowl:Blacklist yourself first because you are lying. You don't have the capacity to understand and follow this matter..... Better not comment on it. |
The topic itself is a lie. The president was even addressing displaced foreigners in Chatsworth on Saturday. Why is that not front page news? The government is dealing with the matter quite efficiently so. Your citizens are well guarded and protected, looked after in the camps where they are. Again, why is this also not front page news? Lies and sensationalism will raise tempers unnecessarily. On Monday there a rally will take place in the Durban CBD, Moses Mabhida stadium - called by King Goodwill Zwelithini and the political leadership of the province to address both foreigners and locals on this matter. Some of you are sitting up there in Nigeria spreading lies instead of properly following the developments in order to make sound and properly informed commends. |
ROSSIKE:What you have stated here is complete nonsense and must be rejected in the strongest possible terms. You are sitting there typing and posting stuff without proper having done any research of any kind about the matter. You post for the sake of posting. I am a SAn I know what's happening here first hand. You can't lie and say most Nigerians came here with money to start businesses. That's nonsense. In the first place why didn't they start those same businesses there? You don't know what you are talking about. If you had any clue about what is going on in Hillbrow Jhb, Sunnyside Pta, Point Road Dbn and many other cities and major towns you were gonna think again and reconsider the nonsense you posted earlier. The majority of foreigners are here illegally and with no clue at all why they are here.....only having been told SA has better opportunities than their home countries....and when things get tough they almost always end up doing all the wrong things you can imagine. It's just not acceptable that there are some parts of cities SAns can no longer set their foot on because of the feared, crime doing foreigners. It's a fact....I wouldn't dare wish for my 13 year old daughter to walk through Hillbrow, Sunnyside, Point Road etc. I live in Nelspruit....Andrew Street in the city is a known brothel area where local girls are hooked into drugs and prostitution by their Nigerian masters. There's even a joint called ka-Nigerian which specialises in sleaze activities in town. It can't be right. No ways. Whilst there may be a few good foreigners here, but most have ruined the reputationaof foreigners....this is not limited to Nigerians only but most of them....especially the African ones...its the truth. Still though, I am 100% against attacks on foreigners here....but let's rather deal with the thorny issues because they are there and see how best we can make things work. |
all4naija:You got it spot on this time...you have been pulling all kinds of stats on the internet about rape in SA, now that this mess is also at your doorstep I'm sure you will begin to understand it in a different light... |
Zealoflife:Exactly!!! |
MissSlimbody:And some fools on NL would always be yapping on and on about SA being the rape capital of the world....sorry for the grandma. Nonsense. |
I once asked a while back in this forum the meaning of the name Ngozi in the Nigerian context and was told it means Blessing. Here in South Africa - Ngozi in isiZulu language means Danger. |
Bluetooth2:Actually for Nigeria this is where the problem / challenge is. You can not be generating 4000MW for such a large population and hope there is / will be light for everybody. 4000MW for upto 170million people is close to nothing. What about industries, firms, where do they get their supply from? Everybody has to share the 4000MW And what is even painful it's the fact that it takes quite a long time to build power stations. Anything between 3 and 6 years for a 4500MW station. Nigeria has got a lot of hard work to do. You need a lot more - seriously a lot. Comparing with the South African situation: Currently SA generates at 39150MW and soon will be about 48000MW with a population of 52million people. Nigeria with a population of plus 165million should do with a generating capacity of around 168000MW. Currently sitting at 4000MW, there is a difference of 164000MW that must still be attained to - and with a generating capacity of up to 6000MW per station - at the most 27 more stations has to be built. May the powers that be in that country find the courage to face this challenge head on assist the nation. It would be very good for the entire African continent if this could be done. |
andyanders:No hatred here...he must go the hearing and answer about SCOAN's collapsed building...is not he the general overseer of SCOAN? If he is, then he must go to the hearing......what does that have to do with hatred? Silly. |
mohims:The question here is not about it being an accident or not, silly head! The issue at hand, is for this MOG to attend the hearing, period? Is that too difficult for your brainless head to understand? |
