mohims: What a silly thing to say. It is your own day of reckoning that is fast approaching. All you evil people waiting to see TB Joshua's down fall, will never see it. Instead he will see yours. God will vindicate him! Are you well upstairs? Really? Right now as I type - orphans have been created through this "planned demolition" your MOG does not want to testify on...orphans which some are struggling to have 2 meals a day - yet your MOG does not think anything of this? The least he could at the moment is to attend the hearing... |

akinsadeez: Bro, moderation is a very very subjective term. what is moderate to you might not be to someone else. Pastor Chris is the pastor of a Church with branches all over the world. You can't expect him to celebrate his birthday the way I would celebrate mine. Even if he wants it to be a small celebration, the number of people who will come will turn into a big celebration. This man is a leader of a congregation of hundred of thousands if not millions across the world. Besides, Since when did rock stars n pop stars become yardsticks by which birthday celebrations are measured Going by your second sentence, are you now saying he is a 'sinner' by the way he celebrated his birthday? (since you said lavishness has an effect on sprirtual well being) I mentioned the term moderation knowing exactly who Ps Chris is. You can invite the whole world to your birthday party it's not a problem. But lavishness (and extremes of it) - and parties that say I am thee man are unChristian-like, if you like. From where I am sitting you can party with the whole world and still keep it low "profile". Mandela's 46664 concerts in celebration of his birthdays etc were held all over the glober - were they lavish? I did not call him a sinner. But some other things have a bearing on spiritual positioning within an individual. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Celebrates 51st Birthday On A Ship [photos] by Parolee: 3:14pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
akinsadeez: How many people celebrated birthdays in the bible? Only pharaoh and herod are recorded in the bible to have celebrated birthdays. It means that birthdays weren't celebrated generally in the Bible but times have changed. We cant seek to dogmatically imitate or replicate everything about the time of Jesus. Birthdays are now being celebrated by everyone and pastors aren't an exception. If we follow your logic, Jesus rode on an H.ass in the bible so all pastors should also forgo cars and only ride on asses. Infact they should all trek like Jesus did, after all if Jesus n d disciples trekked from town to town preaching the gospel, our pastors should also imitate them. You missed the whole point here. What you are mentioning e.g. travelling by car / plane / boat has got no particular effect on the spiritual well being of a person. But lavishness etc is a different ball game all together. Oh yes - there's nothing wrong in celebrating one's birthday - but there is term cold moderation. Yes - Christian should move with the times, but also there are certain limitations to some of these things. We can not be parallel with the world in certain issues. A christian celebrating like a rock / pop star? |

tolustx: Firstly, dat ur statement is not true. Have u read abt what d soldiers did to his garment after he was crucified? Then u wl know he had on a good quality dress. That's jst one of d proofs. Secondly, are u saying now that a rich man shud not enjoy his riches? Why is it dat this kinda thing is always said abt religious leaders along. What abt politicians, footballers, businessmen, etc. Are they not humans like d religious leaders? When a man is struggling, only his family knows him but when he bcoms wealthy, he bcoms d topic of everybody. Tell me dat if u ve d money, u won't do likewise. Soldiers divided His garments to fulfill prophesy. It had nothing to do with how extravagant / trendy those garments were. If they were anything close to Chris's garments the Bible would have stated so e.g. Joseph's coats of many colors, Solomon's riches etc....but nothing of that sort is said of Jesus. The Apostle Paul says imitate me because I imitate Christ. These MOG who are they imitating because Christ was never like this? Where's Christ's extravagant birthday in the scriptures? All this what we see is worldly stuff, period. And lovers of the things of the world are the haters of God. |

Jeel: Jesus was not poor. How can a poor man have a treasurer (Judas)? Would you gamble for a rag? Remember the soldiers gamble for his garments which means they were so expensive and treasureable that they were willing to just have a piece of it to show off.
Jesus was not poor. So a MOG can be as rich as he desires. The soldiers gambled for his garments for the fulfillment of prophesy. Jesus was not concernd about earthly treasure where moth and rust destroy....but He was mostly concerned about upwardly treasure... You can be well off as a man of God but not this what we see these days....most of these moG spend most of their time concerning themselves with earthly treands.....if you know what I mean...btw..it should be the other way round. |

You see that is not how Zulus dress. They wore shredded leathers embellished with hay(dried grass) and put Leopard skin across their shoulders having shield made out of animal skin on one hand and a spear on the other. Just admit Zulus have no traditional clothes which can be presented in international community. Hehehe... So, your international community have issues with ibheshu, nehawu? When did they say so? all4naija: That question reminds me of how Nigerian and South African presidents dress traditionally. One can wear his well designed cultural clothes to international gathering without being frowned upon but the other can't wear Zulu leopard skin because his peanut would be exposed. Bwahaha... That parable is meant for you to grasp as a very correct answer to your question.
Go Nigeria, the true GIANT of Africa! You are not making any sense at all. Question was - how do you go on about with your daily routines amid all the bomb explosions in your Naija? This was in response to your dumb question of how we carry on in SA amid all the crime. So I dont see how your leopard skins fit in in these issues. Who said Zuma can't wear leopard skins? He wears them, proudly so. And that does not affect SA moving forward. So what is your issue with leopard skins really? They look dumb to your dull thinking - we embrace them as cultural heritage in SA. Yep!!!! |

How in the whole wide world are those images you posted are Townnships is still something I cannot understand. You must be living in fantasy land to think those airports are from the squalor where USA citizens come as tourists to see the animals in the game reserve so that you can have money to feed. That proves my point that you are always lying about your condition in dirty Soweto and make it look as though it is a developed place where foreigners come for visit. Give me a break, dude! I am not going to pay attention to that.
If I were you I would tell the truth so that the bucket poo system will be fixed for your own good. I would want you to know those Nigerian airports are better than anything found in the makeshifts around your country.Boring SA indeed!

denisfidha: Not Hating or anything - What you guys need to do is burn your airports!!!! Kenya doesn't have any airport ranked in either among the best or the worst in that list. If anyone can recall the fire that gutted part of the JKIA airport in Nairobi that forced the government to create a temporary tent and use a parking garage as an international arrival terminal- that was probably the lowest the airport service has ever gone, Arriving in a country in a plane where the arrival terminal is a tent!! But Looking back now, it was probably the best thing that happened to that airport, delayed mordarnization projects were forced to be fast tracked and as of June this year, The 1st quater of the terminal complete and is completely amazing. After the terminal will be complete, and the new green terminal built from scratch which will be completed in 2018, Not even South Africa will come close. If you allow me, Am posting pics of the JKIA when on fire in 2013, the new terminal 1A, and the under-construction Greenfield Terminal
JKIA international Arrival Terminal on fire in August 2013 Reckless statement....."not even south Africa will come close". Problem here is that people build one structure and celebrate as if the country is awash with those structures. Look here in SA, we got quite a few that meet international standards. Even smaller airports like East London, KMIA etc are far better than some main airports in Africa. So you need to take care when you want to post negatively about SA. Else, you may find yourself with egg on your face. |

World Bank does not have accurate data on Nigeria. They made errors on our poverty rate and complain of no data.
There is no place in Nigeria without electricity connected, irregular supply is the problem.
The Nigerian's you talk about have irregular electricity supply, not that they have never seen it before like the 15 million lost South Africans who suffer in the midst of plenty, their country produces more electricity than most of Africa, yet they never get to a see a light buld till they grow old and die....what a foolish country South Africa is, so great ineqiuality and yet you say you are advanced like Europe.
