Education / Re: I Regretted Going To University by passey: 11:47pm On Sep 28, 2020
Life rewards your education as opposed to your qualifications!

University qualification is not really necessary but your education - some of which is usually to be introduced in a formal educational setting - is what matters most.

Have you built your capacity to solve any problems? You will definitely be employed or better still be an employer, if you can demonstrate to yourself or to any organisation that you have some developed capacity or even some potential to solve an existing problem.

Yes, the university system in Nigeria can be crappy but it's real value is to teach you how to think. That's why you learn all sort of abstract concepts without any seeming application to real life but it is to expand and develop your capacity to think and solve problems. And that is all you need to succeed in your life.

For full disclosure, I used to be a lecturer in the university.
My life changed as a student when I discovered this fact and I made sure my students understood this clearly.
I have left teaching but I have a good number of successful humans calling to thank me for good education.

NOOOO!
Don't waste your money on a Pastor who should be giving you but will gladly receive from the poorest of the poorest!

Take that 10% percent and give to someone who needs it and God will reward you abundantly for "practical Christianity"!
Foreign Affairs / Re: Coronavirus: Trump Is Defunding WHO. "How It Will Affect Africa" by passey: 2:55am On Apr 17, 2020
Kimbrielle:

And so what?
Is the virus not a new strain of coronavirus called covid 19 at that time were scientist not still studying the virus and they were not yet sure of how the virus spreads did WHO not later retract their statement.
What of the other countries that have been able to handle this pandemic what stopped almighty America from doing same. The reason is because Trump messed up

It is their money, their choice!

WHO is the 'paid' global health expert and nobody is going to keep 'paying' them to 'retract a fucccking statement' as an action against a global pandemic. People like me, an ignorant mathematician, should be retracting statements about health issues, not the faucking WHO!

You are obviously bent on proving that Trump messed up even amidst proof that he acted early to apply the first 'social distance' against China but was reprimanded by your ilks calling him names. You are creating a false dichotomy between 'acting early to stop the virus spread and 'stopping all flights from China in January, 2020'.
And, the 'watchdog' he was paying to alert the world was busy downplaying the dangers and 'watching out' for Chinese interest.
Personally, I think you are a good person but your position on this particular issue is wrong.
Is the 'cover up' by WHO not already affecting Africa already?
Trump rightly feels the world was deceived by Chinese cover up of the pandemic under the watchful eyes of WHO, who ironically should have done it's role to alert the world of the coming danger.
So because he 'pays' their bills and they may have done a bad job, he is deciding to "review" the funding. Wouldn't you do same under similar conditions?
As of the point about affecting Africa, when will this "Africa" begin to carry it's own weight and fix it's issues without depending on handouts from countries that are busy "sharing" it's resources?
China was as recently as 50yrs ago in the same poverty bucket as Africa but now the same China has joined the Europeans on the "chop Africa" global dining table.
China being completely undemocratic will chop up Africa in a more severe manner than the Europeans who still have some leash of democracy and may be, religious morality.
Summary, Trump is not putting up with 'bad service' from WHO-ever and that doesn't make him 'bad' at least, on this specific issue! He cannot "always" be wrong and a bad person. Gracias!

I have no bias against Igbos. I’m solidly against PDP and their wailing supporters and they could be found in every ethnic group.

My trouble is with this intentional myopia.
If I remember correctly, PDP is an acronym from the English alphabets. People committed whatever crime the PDP committed and these same people are now in all manner of political parties including the APC. So I struggle with the logic of making it look like the people have no responsibility but the acronyms do.
Only the SW have consistently been "non PDP" but even at that, I can cite moments the SW political group working with and supporting the PDP or even being in the PDP.
So please how can you hate the letters of PDP and not blame the people who committed the so called 'atrocities'- as if all politicians are not the same- under the PDP?
I am simply looking for logical consistency here, please!

We can belong to political parties but this country was equally fucckked by all it's politicians alike and the earlier we start holding the collective responsible the better, especially, for the younger generation! Gracias

The Church should have faith not fear

The Church is not a place where people come and get sick, the Church is a place where people come and get healing. Shutting the Church can never be the answer

I expect the Church leaders to have prayer such that even if someone with Corona virus comes to church, the person would be instantly healed and not infect others. It saddens me that the Church leaders are rather advocating closure of the Church. It saddens me that even the politicians have more faith and appreciate the power of God more than these church leaders

The politicians are now the ones telling Christians they can go to Church whereas the church leaders want the church to remain closed. Too bad

If someone who is sick comes to church, the person should receive healing not infect others
Na so BH start ooo... Blind religious extremism!
Is it the pastors that heal or God?
Your post reeks of the same ideology as those who strap on explosives and go to church.. Just different religion!!

Sanusi belittled himself the very day he accepted to be crowned emir. He is too educated, enlightened, civilized and trendy to head a traditional institution that promotes primitiveness, old customs and values. So rather than him upholding old customs and traditions he was practically fighting them because of his exposure to modern reality.

For instance, traditional customs in most climes expect the females not to be seen or heard, but modern reality (and Sanusi) does not support this view. Gov. Ganduje did what the average Nigeria politician are known for- CRUSHING OF EVERY DISSENTING VOICE AND PERCEIVED POLITICAL ENEMY.

Ganduje get PhD from UI while Sanusi has Msc from ABU...
