pretts:Transactions executed after close of business on Friday and over the weekend typically get posted on the following Monday and thus the 7th in this case. |
In September 1 last year, I sold my Oando, Dexter did same shortly after Looking back now, it was a good call. OS has increased by 50%, oil price has dropped and I can buy 2.7 Oando shares for every one I sold then. |
Manonamission:I stand corrected. Thanks. |
jamace:My Oga, it just shows the futility of most of these analysis. Two years on, said Unity is now at about 14k, if the reconstruction is considered. |
I wonder what the OP thinks of his post now. ![]() |
All stocks on the NSE can attain a maximum of +5% or -5% of the reference price. The reference price for the day is the opening price at 10.15am. If a stock opens 5% up, that price becomes the reference price for the day, it can thus attain a further +5% of that reference price i.e daily max of +10.25% from the previous closing price. Likewise, it can go -5% of the reference price. Please can the brokers in the forum help clarify this to keep folks from being misinformed. All the rules from mid 2012, 10 market makers, 16 equities jist is TT. |
stokfrick:Re the above, daily price movement is +5% or -5% of opening price. I have sent you a mail. |
PETERiCHY:I am sure you are impressed with your 14 months wait. Your numbers above suggests you had to buy at least 2 shares at N9.20 level for each one you had at N32 naira. And even that would only bring your average to N16.8. Not much of a case for long termers tbh. I have only one long position on the NSE so speaking from my own perspective as a trader. Longtermers should always remember that “Past performance does not guarantee future results". |
alajimeche:Sir, learn about stop losses, and in future deploy them. Since Oando was N22, the OS has increased by almost 50% while the oil price (the major source of their revenue) has declined by more than 40%. All the best. |
Elai147:Fundamentals dont cut it. However see what they did to the price in the last few minutes of the market today. |
Michael11stock:Some folks dont believe in using stop losses. You Sir sound like one. The 60% loss in your portfolio would have taken at least 6 trading days to incur, and will take more than that to recover. A stoploss of c. 15% would have saved you from this predicament. |
Oloro29:Yes they have. http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/10218_UNITED_CAPITAL_PLC_Q2_JUNE_2015_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_JULY_2015.pdf |
If you bought Afriprud in place of Zenith at the current market price you would get almost 1 naira interim Div. |
vice063:See below: http://www.nse.com.ng/Issuers-section/corporate-disclosures/corporate-actions |
drlawizle:This was from about 3 weeks ago. Recent events have overtaken the need. Cheers |
NextProdigy:I do remember your analysis. More of such will be appreciated from forum members. |
@angrybull Thanks for your post above. Many come on this forum and utter TT analysis and unfounded predictions. From Royalex and Costain in recent times to the above donofdons who thinks his Unity Bank shares have appreciated in value . Moneysage tried to call some folks out a while back on their predictions, but they failed to admit they were wrong. |
Ymodulus:Please what do you mean by the bolded? |
angelo82:The post was an attempt at derailing this thread as it had nought to do with the stock market. It has since been taken care of. |
arbitrage:You are wrong Sir. Please refer to link below. The limits you quote are for local transactions. http://www.gtbank.com/personalbanking/cards/mastercard/gtbank-naira-debit-cards/gtbank-platinum-debit-mastercard#transaction-limits |
passwelle:@Ymodulus, you obviously did not read the original post well. I have quoted this above. As used "sub $50k" means if less than $50k. |
Ymodulus:Who said anything about withdrawing cash? You can use your GTB card for foreign transactions web/POS up to 4 million naira in a day. |
makzeze:To fund imports, if its on list of what is approved by CBN, you apply for financing thru Form M etc. If its not on the list of importable items approved by CBN, you resort to finding forex funding from abroad or from individuals who have FX in their dom accounts funded thru foreign transfers. For those who have funded their dom accounts using cash deposits they may be unable to transfer this outside the country. nb. Note that this is for those who deploy large amounts of funds for imports. If sub $50k, you can just use you naira denominated cards. |
IVORY2009:I can assure you they will not, not at the expense of their Banking license. Note that most banks will not allow outward telegraphic transfers of FX that has already been deposited as cash into dom accounts. |
makzeze:Most places in Lagos this morning USD is 205 while GBP is 310. For those buying, remember your local banks in naija will NOT accept forex deposits. |
FranklinRich:Even the bad can earn you money. 10% intraday on Unity bank today. |
ucheson2:The stock market is cyclical. While your darling GEJ was in office the ASI performed poorly staying under the 25,000 pt level for weeks on end. Buy your Oando to your hearts content and zip it. |
Neimeth Q3 result http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/10424_NEIMETH_-_NINE_MONTHS_JUNE_2015_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_JULY_2015.pdf -500% yoy performance |
donofdons:This has to be the most uninformed comment I have read on this thread in a long while. Like seriously? |
Looking back now, it was a good call. OS has increased by 50%, oil price has dropped and I can buy 2.7 Oando shares for every one I sold then.
