mrruns:Too many questions, but I'll try responding to them as concisely as possible: 1. Inverters need battery DC and converts them to AC, hence their derived names 'Inverters'. You shouldn't expect inverters to convert your DC from solar panels directly to AC without solar charge controllers as intermediate. 2.a: Mono and poly are distinct even in appearance 2 b: I should think there are ammeters to measure amperage of current (I). The wattage/power (P), can then be derived from tyhe formula; P=IV i.e if 5amps , power (measured in watts) = 5 X 12 = 60watt (for a 12 volts panel) 3. Yes there are 12v as well as 24 volts. You could also achieve 24 volts by connecting 2 12 volts in series. 4. If unused, your solar panels will still remain ok! However, a battery left unused for a long while, may run-down 5. There is no rule guiding distances between panels. It is, however, advisable to have shortest possible distances to save wires expended in connecting them together. Hope this helps? |
My charger has packed up after 1yr & 6 months of active service . I, however, got another for 5k. Surprisingly, it hasn't served 2 weeks yet and already showing signs of inefficiency. PHCN only supplies power for about 3 hours daily in my location, which was more than enough for my former 10A charger to get my 65AH Fullriver battery fully charged or at least, reasonably charged. The new inverter, despite being 16Amps has been performing woefully as it can't get the battery charged. I observed that after 3-4hr charge time, battery lasts barely 15minutes before the inverter starts blaring all alarms of low battery. I am sure the fault is not from the battery.Seeing that a common problem being reported on this thread is the lack of durability of these chargers. Can we all begin to brainstorm on how to create (locally make) chargers or troubleshoot them? |
Clean fabrication. How much do you bill for that kitchen cabinet? |
Nice concept OP, I'm not a builder/Engineer, but have you spared a thought that the cost of reinforced concrete (decking) as roof could outweigh the cost of doing a modern zinc roof? |
Irrespective of the number of shirts/trousers? Please don't mislead readers. Clearly state your terms and conditions. Otherwise, this advert gives the impression that I could as well give you over a hundred shirts to dry-clean and expect a bill of just 10k with home delivery, which really, isn't realistic. |

Simple economics: Increase in fuel/gas prices will result in proportional increase in prices of commodities because transportation cost for many of the goods increases. It's not the same in the states because your transport system is more efficient and there are alternatives to road transport. Again businesses need power to survive. Imagine perishable commodities that require refrigeration, or sales outlets that require power, infact almost all businesses need power - even the SMEs, local retail shops etc. Power is relatively stable in the states. The US and many developed countries also make good use of alternatives such as wind turbines, hydro power, solar power etc, but in an economy where power is largely dependent on pms & power-generators that gulp pms/fuel, what do you expect if the business person must maintain the margin of profit or break even? the prices of commodities must be increased. Has pms prices ever gone down significantly? NO! Caveat: I'm not an economics student! ![]() |

The problem isn't from your friends laptop. SImply go see an optometrist or an ophthalmologist for eye tests. It must have been a lingering eye defect not detected before now. It's only just obvious now. |

Guy, OP, BREAK-UP from that relationship as fast as you can. You are extremely lucky not to have tied the knots with this lady. Go give thanks to God after dropping the bi.tch. She'll make your life miserable and saddled with regrets if you continue with her. #Speaking from experience! |
Temptee101:Don't mind them. Sometimes you can't help wondering why they can't stake more since they're so sure. Imagine staking only 1k with claims of surely winning 500k! when it's possible to stake a whooping 100k for 50m |
How far from Lagos? |
Today that I'm chanced to visit your office, your number isn't going. I've tried all the 3 numbers - all switched off. If you are reading this, pls call back on 08149777 036 |
