Fashola leads, others follow. this is a welcomed development. hopefully, we hall soon stop to see old rickety jalopy miserable VW beetles traipsing down our roads in the name of Driving tutorials and constituting nuisance to other road users. wonder what makes driving schools believe that only such ridiculous junkies are good enough to teach learners. As much as learners are not asking for Limo or Hummer, a starlet at least should be okay.

Again, not every Tom or Harry can arbitrarily hit the roads as learner or tutor.

A couple of yrs ago, I was in this same quandary, guess what, I took a big risk, dived into the Uk for postgrad. Now, I sometyms regret such decision, but friends tell me to cheer up, afterall, I have achieved an Msc & also pursuing a PhD via scholarship which came merely by chance/ grace - sheer chance I believe because if I claim it was merit, there were a lot of students from different parts of the world who also applied along side with me. some, as a matter of fact, had very good MSc grades.

In summary, it's not been rosy. if I'll be candid with you, I'll advise you to be strategic. do not resign your job if you must travel out for Msc. it's pretty difficult getting a job abroad in this time of economic quagmire. otherwise, you'll return begging for a job you despised. a study leave will be ideal. there are possibilities of being made a permanent staff when you return with your postgrad cert. if eventually, you get a job in US after MSc, then you can throw in a resignation letter. marriage may not be a bad option, but that decision is left to you. if you find a good lady (which can be difficult these days too) who's willing to support your meagre income, both of you can pull through while you hold on to your current job and advance your studies latter (it's never late). Infact, this might even be the better option.

Summary:
The Institute of Epidemiology & Health Care (formerly the Division of Population Health) invites applications for two Medical Research Council-funded PhD studentships to begin in October 2013. The Institute offers a unique environment to those wishing to undertake interdisciplinary study and gain exposure to research within departments pursuing a highly acclaimed international research agenda. Successful candidates will be based in one of the Research Departments of the Institute, namely Epidemiology and Public Health, Infection and Population Health, Applied Health Research or Primary Care and Population Health. They will also have the opportunity to benefit from expertise across the Institute and, depending on the nature of the project proposed, work across departments or with a co-supervisor from another institute in the Faculty of Population Health in UCL. Applicants should have (or expect to obtain) a first or upper second class degree in an appropriate discipline. An MSc in a relevant subject is desirable.

Eligibility: These MRC research studentships are for 3 years. They are restricted to candidates who have been resident in the UK for the past three years. If you do not fulfil this criterion, you are not eligible for this scheme.

MRC Studentships cover UK home fees and full stipend for three years. The stipend is currently £15,740 pa. Two studentships will be available in 2013.

sometyms you Nigerians deserve the ''pepe'' because you like cheap things. nothing good comes cheap. attempt selling a tokunbo car to a Nigerian, and he bargains as if he is not aware of the cost of shipping (200k min) and clearing (250k min). for example, just imagine ppl pricing a good tokunbo benz for 500k. ask yourself if the importer got if for free before importing it.
