No sir. We will not take it sir. I'm good bro... I can't troll my team. You only see me get involved when they come here with their ridiculous takes... I'll leave them to lick their wounds in hope that they now understand that you only begin to troll when your house is in order. Reading from them last week, you'd think Ronaldo and Manchester United were already in the Quarters... By the way, have you seen that Manchester United fan that claims he isn't a fan of Messi or Ronaldo? I don't know if it's the rest but Ronaldo was very active for the entirety of his stay on the pitch. At some point, I saw him at the LB position...Best game he has played since his return because away from the goals, he was very instrumental in holding up the ball, winning fouls, defending and helping us retain possession with his interplay...
Another player who impressed me was Fred, he covered a lot of ground and his timely passes forward helped us attack at speed...
Sancho is definitely close to his best, his on-pitch understanding with Ronaldo was a joy to watch...
Pogba and Rashford were not so good... |

One can distinguish between both. Your call for me to boycott the club will be valid IF the situation continued. If with my awakening, the situation continued, then there is grounds for me to personally boycott, but the fact that the club is on its path to redemption, that we'll be done with the criminal very soon is grounds for optimism. As you are now, do you love tinubu, do you love Babaginda, do you love Abacha, do you love dangote?? All these are people who have partook in the plundering and decimating of national wealth for themselves and their cronies to the detriment of millions of working class citizens.
So if Abacha used stolen funds to fund your favorite club, you will decide to be blind to his kleptocracy?? You will start singing Abachas praises? If any government now finally decided to bring the hammer down on Abacha, you will call it persecution??
ABRAHMOVIC IS A CRIMINAL. If you see yourself defending and vociferously supporting a criminal like that then something is wrong with your moral compass. It means you have no right to ever complain about bad leadership. I was blind, now my eyes are opened to seeing him for what he is. A cynical criminal who used stolen funds to buy hearts and minds. You're taking a very extreme position on this matter... |

ChristoBam: 2 years stand out for Ten Haag in the UCL. 2019 and this year. The year 2019 they had a great run, playing beautiful football. Remarkably knocked out Juventus before losing against Pochetino’s Tottenham. He was tactically outclassed that 2nd leg.
Anything can still happen this year.
So what’s the UCL achievements that’s putting a Ten Haag over Poch? That Ajax team showed their inexperience that day. They completely dominated Spurs... I see you want to cling onto that when they met line... |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 5:54pm On Mar 09, 2022 |
ChristoBam: Poch was set up to fail by levy but he still managed to do something with that squad. A lot of players in that squad needed replacement and especially in the midfield. They waited till Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen and co couldn’t do shit again. The ones that were average were never going to get replacements.
The thing is I see Poch doing the same thing at Ajax with that laid down structure. But I don’t see Ten Haag doing the same in Tottenham. You won’t get the best youngsters in the country. You’ll get a few really good players, combined with very average ones and then some youngsters that might not be so good. That’s what you’ll get at Tottenham or United.
As for the style of play, Poch has a definite style of play but he can manage with whatever he has which is what he has done at PSG. It’s not beautiful attacking football like Ten Haag but I think it’s something we can get used to pretty fast.
Thing is, in recent months, I’ve preferred Ten Haag over any candidate. But when I started to think deeply about it, I realized it’s because of the novelty to me. So I wanted to know what’s even the deal with the guy from others. I can see that with you, it’s definitely the beautiful style of play. I can't get used to Poch, he bottled too many chances at Spurs and at PSG, he has struggled to stamp his authority on the team... I accept the jury is out on Erik with regards to handling egoistic players but I rather take a punt on Erik as the pros outweighs the cons... |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 3:13pm On Mar 09, 2022 |
ChristoBam: I don't agree, we played Ajax( Manager was Peter Bosz) in the Europa league final, two years before they had that long run in the UCL. So they were in the ascendance in Europe even before Ten Haag came in. On the other hand, I don't remember Tottenham doing anything in Europe before Poch. Btwn that team Poch took to the UCL final was so badly stricken with zero to little investment of the recent years. So that's props to Poch.
What makes a good team to me is. 40% Manager 40% Players 20% Structure.
With that structure part, we're so far away from that Ten Haag style at United. Like years far away. Erik ten Hag lost the core of the team after reaching the UCL Semis but he has quickly rebuilt without a noticeable drop in performance. It's not like hee is doing wonders with world beaters but rather with players who were regarded as flops or not good enough elsewhere; the likes of Haller and Tadic comes to mind. Also, the likes of Antony were relatively unknown and so many others in the present Ajax team. It is this ability to rebuild his team whilst remaining competitive and playing progressive football that I like. It is noteworthy that he didn't break the bank to assemble such as good team. Now, compared to Pochettino's Spurs who began to falter when the team began to age especially in defense and midfield. He didn't have any solutions... Also, I think Erik's team plays better attacking football than Poch. NB: I am making a case for Erik using Ajax performance against teams in the UCL and not not the Eredivisie where they are a class above the rest bar PSV and to a lesser extent, Feyenoord. Talking about structure, whilst I accept it is important, I also want to believe if Ole had opted for players who are more technical, the board would have gotten them rather than the likes of Maguire, James, AWB and the likes we have signed over the years. In essence, Erik won't go after big names for the sake of it but players who are technically gifted and can fit into his style of play. Talking about style of play, with Erik, you know what you are getting and the type of players he will chase to play his brand of football but with Poch, I can't categorically say he has a distinctive style of play. His team's are just there, not excellent and not bad either... In all, Erik edges it when it comes to ability to guide us through a rebuild whilst remaining competitive as he has shown with Ajax while Poch failed at Spurs. He also edges it when it comes to playing beautiful attacking football. And lastly, Erik prefers technical players much more than physical specimens. I think we need a coach that will bring in players who are very technical and that's where Erik comes in. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 1:32pm On Mar 09, 2022 |
ChristoBam: And he got into a UCL final while doing that, which is overachieving expectations.
Ten Haag is also expected to win their league, which is low pressure to me. And go as far as possible in the UCL. He's been in a low pressure environment to me as well.
It seems the only edge of Ten Haag is the novelty and beautiful football. In the UCL, I will say Erik ten Hag and Ajax are not on the same level with Tottenham in recent times so, I'd give Erik more props for the performance of his team in the UCL over Poch. Spurs spend more so, it is only normal that they should do better than Ajax but that has not been the case in recent times. I accept that Ajax are a well run club but then, we have seen players come and go yet the team remain competitive with the only constant being Erik ten Hag and their board. One thing Erik has going for him is how he manages to turn a squad of good players to a functional unit (Team)...No matter how go a club is positioned, the quality of football they play is 70% on the coach and 30% on the players. I believe with proper coaching and a few additions in the right areas, we will be back challenging for titles... |

Pochettino will do well in a low pressure environment where top 4 is the goal.
At Manchester United, there's pressure on the manager to win trophies. Top 4 isn't enough if not a huge section of the fan base won't have turned their back on Ole. |

ChristoBam: Can someone please tell me why he/she prefers Ten Haag to Pochetinho.
I'm not making a point, I'm genuinely curious cuz I don't get it and I really want to get it. Most of the things I hear people say are attacks against Pochetinho instead of praises of Ten Haag.
For example, people use the problems Pochetinho have with the powerful players at PSG and say he can't be successful cuz there's a similar type of power play at United. But thing is there's no iota of evidence Ten Haag can control these massive egos as well. Based on my knowledge, he makes use of majorly young players and players that struggled in top leagues. Erik ten Hag's team plays beautiful attacking football which is in tune with what most top teams play. His Ajax team lost most of their star players yet were still able to replace them without a drop in performance... Erik ten Hag's team have not just done well in Holland but also in the UCL whilst operating on a budget. |
