Here’s what you’re overlooking:

When Man City were breaking the bank to improve their squad, SAF was saying there’s no quality player available in the market.

You can’t say x and y club have spent the same amount of money in the last Z years and so Y has a better coach because they’re doing better.

It’s deeper than that.

City spent and spent to build the squad that they have. If they had a recruitment process like United’s, believe me, they’d have spent x2 or x3 what they spent.

But despite their shrewd recruitment process, eemind me again who broke FFP rules, got banned, and then everything was swept under the rugs?

I do not dispute that our recruitment process is flawed especially when it comes to appointing managers. Moving from Fergie to Moyes to Van Gaal to Mou to Ole and now Rangnick is crazy, they're all managers with different footballing ideologies and they were allowed to sign their own players which therefore means we have spent quite a lot but it's just to suit each manager as they immediately go back to square one when a new manager is appointed.

My issue now is that irrespective of our flawed recruitment process, we still have in our ranks one of the most talented squad of players in the league thus we ought to be playing better and we currently are. You can't possibly say Brighton have better players but they play far more exciting football than we do and that's down to the coaching and tactics of the manager...

Going forward, the choice of who gets the job in the summer will go a long way in showing if we have really learnt valuable lessons or not...Hopefully, they listen to Rangnick because from all indications, he definitely have an idea of how we should be playing going forward but he just can't seem to implement it and that's where a progressive young manager like ten Hag comes in.

What you’ve said makes sense on some level but you’re overlooking some factors which play important roles in the grand scheme of things.

1. My point has always been that City has a better squad than United. They have more quality players than we do. That’s the fact.

It’s not about substituting one player for another one. It’s about how everyone work together in the team.

Sometimes squad and team is used interchangeably. But it doesn’t mean that team = starting XI

2. You said coaching was the reason Man City is gelling well. That’s true to some extent, but not 100%.

As a coach, your job is made easier when you have an abundance of talents at your disposal. And city has that.

How can they afford to have KDB out for like 4-5 months and they couldn’t even feel his loss? There were quality replacements.

City can have 2 key players injured and they’ll be okay.

United cannot have Varane and Bruno injured for 2 months. Na wahala.

3. Even when city don’t have players injured- if they’re out of form, they have enough quality who will step up.

At some point, Sterling, Mahrez, Jesus and the rest were out of form. But Foden, Gundogan and B. Silva stepped up.

At United it’s either Rashford or Sancho. And we’ve been waiting for Lingard to step up for the last 5 years.

And what about the midfield? Pogba, the quality inconsistent midfielder that we have, who will step up when he’s injured or having his inconsistency bout?Limao.

4. You see, all these- all what I’ve said is because City has a better recruitment system than United.

Apart from having shrewd scouts, they’re always ready to break the bank to get their number one targets whenever it matters.

All of City’s defenders cost at least 40-50m pounds.

Because that’s where they needed reinforcements the most. Some of their defenders even broke transfer records.

And guess what? They’ve done this for the last decade or so.

You know the sorry state at the helm of affairs at United.

I agree about their recruitment process, they seem to go after players who are confident on the ball whilst we appoint managers with different philosophy hence they sign players who fit into the style of the managers rather than the style we want as a club (do we even have a pattern of play?)...

A good system and coach gets the best out of players (not all but majority)...You can see how Pep has moved B. Silva to the middle where he operates as a CM/AM depending on the flow of the game. You can also point at Foden and Sterling who have improved their games or are deployed to positions where they're most effective under Pep...

In one sequence you will argue that Bruno is better than KDB, De Gea is better than Ederson, Ronaldo and Cavani are better than any City attacker...It's also common to find Manchester United fans argue that Sancho is better than Grealish, Pogba is better than Gundogan, Varane is better than Dias etc but in another twist, you guys will claim City have a better squad...

The thing is simple, City have a better team as they function as a unit irrespective of the personnel selected however, we are probably on par or not far off when the strength of individuals in the squad is analyzed however, we have not been able to collectively function as a unit like City and that's the major difference...

If you think otherwise then it's obvious that you have not paid close attention to our signings and performances over the years...Varane can't be shit all of a sudden same with Sancho, Ronaldo etc We are just a team of individuals which is why we often struggle...The day we get a coach that will have us playing as a well drilled unit is the day we will start challenging again...

As e be now, even if we sign Mbappe, Haaland, Hakimi, Kimmich etc we will still struggle to win games convincingly...

Mane is a great player but this season, he has not played at the level we have come to expect from him. So, whilst you'd still find him tracking back and progressing with the ball, he just doesn't get past players or score as much as he did when he peaked a couple of seasons ago...For now, Salah is clearly having the better season...I make bold to say that if Egypt had won the AFCON, then Salah would have stood a good chance to win the Balon d'or assuming Liverpool go ahead to win a couple of trophies but it's not a case with Mane, he has not had a stellar season up to this moment though if he ups his game and plays a stellar role for Liverpool in the remaining months of a season, the odds might just switch to his favor...

Mane has been underwhelming for Liverpool this season. The signing of Diaz puts pressure on him to step up his game...

Anyone who says Mane has carried Liverpool this season is just trolling. I'd say Jota has even been more important for Liverpool than Mane this season...All of the above doesn't invalidate the fact that Mane is a fantastic player and will get back in form in no time...
