Elsewhere, the players seem lazy and not good enough but then you look at the names we are parading and you expect us to do better thus you begin to blame the coach then again you realize we just go about signing any player a manager deems fit irrespective of whether or not he fits with the kind of football associated with the club, here come the wish for a DoF...

In all, we need competent folks handling the football side of things in this club lest we continue taking a step forward and two steps backwards...

Doc Lampard gave Chelsea his list of targets and the board went for them without any fuss or monitoring. We are few days to the close of the window yet we dey monitor an international well established player, same Van de Beek that was rumoured we wanted to sign in January when the Bruno deal was proving difficult. I don't want to believe the board could not bring in any of his targets if he truly had any other than Sancho. So i put it down to OGS not drawing up a proper transfer list of target to improve his team...

The transfer window closes on the 5th of October, 2020...

Please, understand what I am saying o. I did not say we have spent 200m every year, I said we cant be spending 200m every year (as expected by Fans), it's not sustainable! Also, we are one of the big spenders in Europe!

But who said we must spend 200m? With a proper system in place, 120 - 150m can get you very good players with potentials to become great...

Chelsea with Werner, Ziyech, Chilwell, Kai (likely) won't have cost them more than 250m but if we were signing those players, we have spent over 350m and have you come here to say we have spent enough...The problem is deep, we over pay for players especially players who aren't world beaters...

They care about trophies, that's why they keep spending. Meanwhile, spending 200m every season is not sustainable. Revenue is 650m pounds, player wages alone is close to 350m pounds....spending 200m pounds every season is not sustainable at all!

The other day, I pointed out that you can as well say we have wasted money buying players suited to a coach and not the way we want to play (Philosophy) you dismissed my point and I left it there.

Bayern tried Kovac which pattern of play is quite different from what is associated with Bayern and it backfired but once Flick came in, we saw the Bayern of old.

The big question is; why can't we build on from last season? The defense improved, our midfield is one player away from getting ready and our attack, one or two...In defense, we can do with one more player but no, we can't keep spending...

I won't be surprised if the clueless board opt for Simeone after Ole just so we are back to square one...

I used to be anti-Glazers whilst Fergie was here because they just didn't splash the cash on quality players as one would've expected. Our midfield was left unattended to for years and whilst we lost key players, they didn't do enough to replace them but over the past couple of years, they've invested in the squad hugely maybe because we started missing out on Europe altogether (sounds plausible)...

The reason why we are still struggling even when the Glazers have brought out the cheque book is because we don't have a football philosophy to guide our player purchases and that's why we desperately need a football man to run to football aspect of the club. Van Gaal came and signed his men, Mourinho came and signed the players he likes which are quite different from the kind of players we signed under Van Gaal and now, Ole is buying his own players. If sacked, we might opt for another manager with an entirely different footballing philosophy...

The club needs to have a direction wherein, player acquisition and manager change will depend on whether or he can fit in our system that way, a new manager will come in and doesn't need a complete clear out like what Pep wanted at Chelsea...

ChristineC, it's just what I highlighted a couple of weeks back. The Glazers are only interested in the club qualifying for the UCL which means more money. It's the very reason they spend whenever we miss out on Europe just so we can get back to playing in the UCL and the circle continues...They don't care about trophies...

I am not upset but not too long ago, a Chelsea fan called on the M.ods when Manchester United fans descended on your thread for days after the FA Cup final loss...

In that scenario, Chelsea had lost a matgch and as per the tradition here, everyone was free to party there but when it's an off season yet you guys can't go a day without dropping irrelevant stuff here, it simply means they're no more rules of engagement and when the tables turn, I hope you lots are ready?
