raumdeuter: Liverpool had their highest points ever last season. Man utd had their highest points in 5 yrs 2 seasons ago
But right now after 26 games City 51points Chelsea 41 points Spurs 40 points Man Utd 38points Arsenal 34points
Last year after 26 games City 65points (-14 from last year) Chelsea 50points (-9) Spurs 60(-20) Man utd 51points (-13 from last year) Arsenal 50 (-16 from last year)
Read the above stats and ask again if this is not a weak season from other contenders for the league Compared it with their best seasons individually...Manchester United, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea...Don't try to play a fast one. |

Elampiro, Simeone set up to limit the attacking influence of Robertson and Arnold and the resultant effect was fewer chances created.
Mane, Firmino and Salah played up front... |

Look at their current point haul and compare it to their form in recent seasons you knew in recent time We can as well say Pep had it easy in the past 2 seasons because Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea wasn't at the peak of their powers. But in EUrope teams are matching them You're not making any sense right now, your argument will make sense if Liverpool are eliminated...Their goal in the group stage was to qualify for the round of 16 and they achieved it. Now, their goal is to progress to the quarters and they stand a good chance after the first leg so what exactly is your point? In Euros, Portugal didn't win a game until the semi-finals but who cares, they won it and that's all that matters. |

The EPL is garbage because all the teams are bowing down to Liverpool while in Europe teams that are even struggling like Napoli Atletico are standing up to them Really? You asserted that Liverpool don't have a Ronaldo and only a team with Ronaldo has managed to stop them thus if they avoid a Ronaldo led team, they'd win it. raumdeuter: My point is EPL this season is weak, the team that is steamrolling you all is chopping it in Europe. Even if na one game no team in the league can win after 26 When Madrid lost 1 vs 3 to Juventus only to qualify at the end, was it in anyway significant or did it mean they were useless? The point is simple, in a league game, you play for points, in a knockout competition you play to qualify... If Liverpool wins the return leg at Anfield, will all you're saying now make any sense to you? |

I need to remind you that giving a 1 goal lead to Atleti is one of the worst things you can do in a game of football, cause you might as well pack up and go home. The only chance Liverpool got is if they sign Ronaldo before the 2nd leg. Not that I am ruling them out but I have confidence in Atletico qualifying. Liverpool could as well have lost 6 games in the league and still win but they are not losing in the league because the opposition in England is not strong enough
But they are losing in Europe unless you want to tell us that they were losing intentionally In order words, Atletico will be top of the EPL if they were in England...Does it make any sense to you? The UCL is over two legs, Liverpool know they have a return leg at Anfield thus you don't expect them to go all out gong ho to win the game compared to a league game where every win accounts for 3 pts...Srop being mischievous for the sake of it. |

Melvyn11: Atletico are the first real competitive opponents Liverpool have played in a while and they weren’t used to it. The Premier league right now is absolute garbage in terms of overall quality and nothing anyone can say can change that. Atletico put a level of performance today that the other teams below Liverpool in their current state cannot match. Give it a rest, we have seen Southampton, Watford and the likes put up good performances against Liverpool. Cup competitions are quite different from league games. What you are implying is that Atletico are better than anything Liverpool have faced in the EPL but if we put Atletico in the EPL, I am sure they'd struggle to make second place. All Liverpool need do is win the second well with a better margin and they're through to the next round which is all that matters and not just the result after 90mims. For a La Liga fan, need I remind you of the fortress that is Anfield? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by patrickmuf(m): 11:35pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
raumdeuter: Just stick with you dont understand
Liverpool has won 25 league games in the league
In 7 CL games they have won 4
What can you deduce The UCL is a knockout competition where you can lose one game 5 vs 0 and still go ahead to qualify if you win the next game 6 vs 0. It's a cup competition and the approach is different compared to a league... If Liverpool goes ahead to win the UCL, nobody will remember they lost to Atletico Madrid, I expect you to know better or are being mischievous on purpose? |

What we are seeing no team in English League history has done. The least people can do is applaud their consistency not find excuses to bash it at every turn Exactly, even though I am a Manchester United fan, I can't help but applaud Liverpool for their consistency over the past 2 seasons. The funny thing is that if Liverpool overturn the scoreline at Anfield, they'll resort to berating the refs...Well, I'd put it down to human nature, people are bound to hate on you when you're successful. |

Let's even understand the orisun of this una argument.
And if you are then kindly show us any team that has gone the entire season unbeaten both in England and Europe. From Pep's Barca, to Zidane's Madrid or Sacchi's Milan It's just funny how guys see things. Liverpool have home advantage to count on and if any football fan can comfortably open his mouth to yarn dust after today about Liverpool then that person shouldn't be more than a joke because we have seen too much of Liverpool and their magic at Anfield to think otherwise. Even Pep's Barca, Juup's Bayern, Manchester United 99 team and Zidane's Madrid team lost games so I don't understand Raumdeuter and his minions. |
