It's really unfortunate.

2019 Wimbledon final, someone mentioned it the other time. Federer lost 2 championship points, and lost the game in the final Tiebreak 13-12 to Djokovic.

That was one game that Federer lost only on the scoreboard, but dominated in every other aspect of the game. Had more points, and was superior in all other aspects.

If there was going to be a shared championship, that should have been the game!
I remember that final...I think this one is right up there too...

You just can't predict who will win it, I have gone from Sinner to Sinner to Alcaraz, then Alcaraz and now, Sinner...

Both players deserve to win...It's just unfortunate that one has to lose.

He gassed out or Alcaraz is just the king of comeback?
I just can't say...Maybe he let the pressure get to him or he thought he was already there...I just can't explain how he let Alcaraz back into it.

It will be tough for Alcaraz to come back and win this one.

If Sinner wins it, this goes down as one of the most dominating performances ever in a grand slam...

Regardless of investment, 16th would always be unacceptable..especially when Conte finished 4th in that same club with the players he met on ground mid season.

Those are the standards expected..not the ones fuelled by sentiments and emotions.
Spurs and standards? What exactly have they achieved in the past 10 years?

Even if he won the WC with Spurs lol, that 16th position finish would always be unacceptable at serious clubs with Ambition.
He finished 16th in his second season after all the investment, right?

Some of you have written so many trashy things about Amorim that you are now praying the club has a disastrous transfer window so that we can go into the new season with the same set of players and record the same results, so that you can be proven right...Let the man have his players, then we will be able to fairly judge him...

Haha, Wolves and Brentford players should be our targets now? Issokay. I no get energy to argue today.
See where you get it all wrong, so typical of the majority of the fanbase. Where have all the top players we have been signing from top teams taken us to? City are going after Reijnders, Cherki, Air Nouri and Livaramento but I don't see anyone complaining...If we were the ones signing those players and City signing Cunha and Mbeumo, I am sure you'd still criticise the team for signing players from Lyon, Milan and Wolves...

Lol. Did I complain about the Cunha deal? You don’t know what you are saying.
Is Cunha better than Mbeumo? I don't think so, I think Mbeumo is slightly better, but most importantly, they were key men in their respective clubs, meaning that they could do even better with a better supporting cast.

You seem to dismiss the signing as one that won't work out here for no just reason. If the signing of Mbeumo means we will not sign a CF then, I will understand why you have reservations and even I will do but it's not the case here at least from what the press is saying.

Left to nitrogen, if na only 20m the club spend, he's happy.
I really don't understand him. As a fan, he should be happy the club is going after players who have shown they can do it in a team that's not all that. You Wolves and Brentford play and you easily notice that they don't have the best players to compete for top honors but then again, anytime you watch them, you notice Cunha and Mbeumo almost always show up no matter the opposition...That's why I am impressed...

This is potentially a shitty deal.
The quest to be the one that called it right is driving some of you nuts...On what basis is the potential signing of one of the best players in the league just this past season shitty?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 3:07pm On Jun 06, 2025
We should be buying and selling. The problem with buying before selling is that teams will approach us to buy players who are surplus to requirements for less than their value because they know we are desperate to get rid of the players...

Rashford, Antony, Sancho, Casemiro, Maguire, Hojlund, Garnacho...It's just too quiet...

For real and we will compete… I don’t know why the club isn’t ruthless enough or doesn’t care. Some players don’t deserve to be here anymore but they still steal a living staying here a long time without doing anything e.g Shaw, took time before we got rid of Phil jones etc. Casemiro self is on 350k omoh
Casemiro can fetch us good 30m if we sound out to the Saudis. His wages is just too high.

Shaw should have his contract terminated or take a pay cut to stay.

If we complete the signing of Mbeumo as its looking, and signs Gyokeres. We needed a GK more urgently, then a quality CB. With Mazraoui, Heaven, Yoro, Maguire, Deligt and Martinez returning in September. I think we are a bit more covered there.
The number of points that Hojlund and Onana lost for us this season is atrocious.
Lindelöf and Evans are gone. I don't trust Shaw and Martinez to be fit for a full season so we need a fit CB who can play left of the back 3 or Central...I am also thinking of the fitness/availability of De Ligt, I don't want us to depend on Maguire, Yoro and Mazrouni as the ever-present for a season. However, if Amorim thinks Martinez and Shaw are options to trust, we can start the search for a goalie to replace Onana.

You want to know why we finished 15th?

— We conceded only 7 more goals than Newcastle, yet they scored 24 more than us.

— We conceded only 3 more goals than Aston Villa, yet they scored 14 more than us.

Newcastle finished 5th. Villa came 6th. And United? 15th.

The reason is simple: our forwards couldn’t score.

A lack of quality up front, combined with INEOS’ baffling decision to offload two attackers in January without replacements, left Amorim looking like a clown.

With Cunha, Mbeumo, and possibly Gyökeres coming in, don’t be surprised when we’re fighting for top 4 next season.

Copied on Twitter… I implore everyone to read this.
If we sign Mbeumo and Gyokeres, we just need two CMs, one CB and a goalie if Onana leaves...Lindelöf, Eriksen, Casemiro, and Shaw should be released or sold.

The "option" is obviously to reassess the situation and check wether a new contract would be in the club's best interest.

The definitive contract he signed expires by this time next year.
The club might also decide to keep for another season instead of losing him a season earlier...His goals will most likely see them stay up and earn big from the league's TV rights revenue...

The point in all these is that the club will most likely use the option to extend his deal as a bargaining chip, which is why they're likely holding out for a bit more money.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 11:30am On Jun 06, 2025
Jamiuokolaa:
And it is also clearly stated that his current contract expires next year - Mrvict.or was quite clear about that, same with the evidence at our disposal....

Like I said earlier, the bolded was the basis of the original convo and it has been found to be factually correct

Reasons and probabilities for extension are moot here...

Can Mbuemo leave for Free as we speak? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Can he leave for free by this time next year?

ABSOLUTELY YES, IF BRENTFORD DECIDE NOT TO ACTIVATE THE OPTION OF EXTENSION AND/OR THE PLAYER ISNT HAPPY WITH THE NEW TERMS!

Like I said, I am not interested in the probability of the futuristic extension, as it is irrelevant here.
Brentford will let their best player leave for free when they have the option to extend even without his permission...A good joke...
