Is Delap better or more expensive than Cunha? There's nothing out there that proves Delap is better, so if we can attract Cunha and pay over 60m to get him, doesn't it tell you that we still have the pull?

Activating release clause does not mean automatically the player has to come. The player still has final say on whether he will sign for the club that activates the release clause.

Since there were multiple clubs ready to activate the release clause, Delap held off on going into talks with any specific club until he was sure which one could offer him Champions League football.

I know the decision rest on the player. If we were keen, we'd have also offered to pay the release clause. At least 30m is not in anyway close to the amount we are rumored to be paying for Cunha which means that if he was a priority signing, we'd have made the move since.

I have a feeling that Gyokeres will be the one. I had thought Arsenal will go in for him but apparently they have prioritised Sesko.

If we get Gyokeres after the Cunha deal, that will be a massive upgrade of our attack. We need to look at our midfield and possibly goal keeping department next.

There's value in the market if we negotiate well and go for the right kind of players.

One area we should not forget is the huge money the club will be saving if the likes of Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Casemiro, Eriksen, Maguire, Lindelöf, Shaw, Hojlund and possible Bruno are sold or released...

We can get like 6-7 very good players for 250-300m with modest wages if we go for the right players and negotiate well...

How many clubs have shown interest in the players you mentioned? Chelshit can sign Scamcho for just £25m, but they are considering sending the fraud back for a fine fee. Trashford is available for £40m, but obviously didn't impress Aston Villa Management enough for them to sign him. Antony did very well in Spain, hopefully we see a bidding war to help push his fee up.
The remaining players on your list are also not attracting huge interest so far, so selling Bruno for £100m plus at this time is a good move for both Club and Player.

If he was talking about the wages we will free up if we sell those players on a cheap then, I'd understand but talking about generating 100m from those bumps is laughable.

Martinez is returning from a long term injury, so I don't see any club looking his way. Rashford and Antony did reasonably well but Betis don't have 40m to pay, his performance in the Conference League final was very poor, so even if they nursed the thought, that performance was enough to have them change their mind while Villa will want to pay less than 40m for Rashford knowing too well that we want to offload him...

Only Bruno and Garnacho can generate a good fee at this point.

The challenge here is replacing our best player. Given how the Glazers handled the CR7 situation, I doubt they'll reinvest the funds properly— which might require signing two CM. I’d suggest Baleba, but that seems unlikely.

With several attacking players e.g. Rashford, Antony, Sancho, and Garnacho possibly leaving, we’ll likely need to bring in at least two of the AM options you mentioned.

The truth is that players are available for the right price, everything is down to your negotiation skills...

The fact he moved Bruno from playing as one of the AMFs to midfield as part of the midfield two tells you that he thinks they're better options as AMFs and he is not satisfied with his option in that two-man midfield...We are close to signing Cunha for the RAMF position and we all know the LAMF spot belongs to Amad...In the long run, do you see Bruno as a reliable option for the two-man midfield? I don't...

I don't understand why some people think Bruno is irreplaceable. In my opinion, players like Rodrygo, Eze, Cherki, and Lookman are better suited to right attacking midfielder (RAMF) than Bruno.

As a midfielder, we need players who can effectively keep the ball, be positionally aware, and maintain a high work rate. While Bruno does have a good work rate, he struggles to keep possession under pressure and cannot always be relied upon to maintain his position. His tendency to drift across the field may lead to a higher number of goals and assists, but it ultimately causes the team to suffer.

If we had a team full of world-class players, I would oppose selling him, but right now, we need players who better fit our needs.

Whether you are buying for the manager or the club, it doesn't matter right now. The fee is important, for instance, Gyokeres will cost almost the same as Cunha for the same amount but we are close to signing Cunha...Gyokeres signing guarantees goals and assist, so getting a player like that is you replacing Bruno's contribution from midfield while having the opportunity to bring in an actual midfielder that does the job expected of a midfielder...

Away from stats, I don't think Bruno is suited to occupy one of the positions of a midfield two neither is he excellent as an inverted winger cum LAMF or RAMF...If the offer is right, he should be sold.

Bruno does not even have a place in the current set-up; the left and right attacking midfielders behind the striker have to be players who are good on the ball and can take on the opponent without losing the ball at the slightest bit, only to begin complaining afterwards...

We should be looking for proper midfielders as Bruno has shown he can't play in a midfield two neither can he function as one of the inverted forwards cum AMFs...

Some of our fans are our problem and its affecting us a club. For me I will rather we cash out on Bruno and used the funds to get two or more players.

Casemiro and Bruno (especially Bruno) can fetch us good money, so we must decide whether to deal or not (I personally think it's the right time to cash in on the duo)...Shaw and Maguire are your typical English footballers, they'll likely end up at West Ham/Palace/Everton...

I agree Garnacho can fetch us good money but not Hojlund, we will record serious losses if we sell him now, so the best option is to loan him out to a club where the pressure is not too much and hope he develops there, then we can bring him back or deal on him.

There's no big team Mbeumo and Wissa did not trouble this past season. In fact, after Tony left, Mbeumo stepped up big time, he is very good with the ball at his feet, whether holding the ball and bringing others into play or creating chances or taking them...I wouldn't mind if he is signed, he is a very good player.

I think the point here is that he seems to be "out of reach" and the earlier we started exploring other "realistic" options of acceptable quality , the better.

Some insinuations on here that these shambolic performances and results would definitely repeat next season if Osihmen doesn't sign for the club, is kinda worrisome and would always set the manager up for drags

We just want players who are technical on the ball and off it, are ready to work hard...

Two seasons ago, you guys said we needed to rebuild with a younger squad and stop signing viruses/mercs like Pogba, Lukaku Mhiki, etc. Now that the experiment has failed mostly on the back of getting an inexperienced manager, we should go back to Mercs so our so called saviour can succeed.

You are in a world of your own most definitely...How is asking for patience so that the manager working with the football management team gets the players with the right profile to execute his ideas, now a bad thing?
