airmark: @Patrickmuf, it was Delap and now Gyokeres. Bring 50m with 'abeg', before Jackson will find a Ucl team to join.
Be fast.
Fabrizio is just farming engagement...Gyokeres will end up at United.
Arsenal are after Sesko, so realistically his only options are Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United...Chelsea have signed Delap to the compete with Jackson, the only way they will sign another striker is if Jackson is sold but it doesn't look likely.
Liverpool will need to offload Nunez if they must sign another striker and even if they do, they'd likely go for Alvarez.
Manchester United are the other option, at United he is guaranteed a start place in the team and having worked with Amorim before, he should have no problems fitting in...They downside is that United have no UCL football to offer.
The ball is in his court, it is either he joins United now or hope that Arsenal's move for Sesko doesn't go through or stay in Sorting for one more year and hope that next summer Barcelona will be after him as a replacement for Lewy. Does he have the luxury of time to wait? I think not, so it's now or never for him...
If he goes to Arsenal, he should know that he is going there as Arteta's preferred CF thus he might find himself behind Havertz in the perking order...Arteta na that kind man...😂
Ihebu4chelsea: Time Will tell, Same people believed Ukraine would have stop existing today. Aside China, I believe all middle east countries (except Isreal) are Paper tigers including Russia and North Korea, Ukraine exposed Mother Russia.
Ukraine exposed Russia, how exactly? Ukraine is being armed by NATO, so in extention Russia is up against NATO and is still winning...
How you conveniently avoided the support from NATO in a bid to score cheap points is laughable...Russian troops are penetrating deep into Ukraine but you are here on Nairaland saying Ukraine is winning.
patrickmuf: Depends on what the team needs. If the right winger is someone in the mould of Yamal, then I'd opt for:
1. Gakpo 2. Nico 3. Barcola 4. Mitoma 5. Leao
If I have an eye for the future then it's: 1. Barcola 2. Nico 3. Gakpo 4. Mitoma 5. Leao
If not for lack of comprehension I wonder why a grown man will see the reason I put up there for second choice of the listed players and still yap about why I opted for Barcola. He has the potential to be better than all the players on that list and is still very young.
Maimakawa1: I'm always praying if CFC can hijack Mbeumo's transfer. That guy and Delap alone can makes Chelsea attack deadly. But I still doubt CFC board are still not serious about winning any trophy considering how City and Liverpool are rebuilding good teams that no English team can even challenge next season
Mbeumo only wants Manchester United. You guys should stick to your next-gem challenge.
GloriousGbola: If his story is true people are going to start corroborating with their own experiences. Unfortunately as a naija matter it is perfectly possible that people in the airline are racketeering and selling tickets at inflated prices.
I won't doubt Oshiomhole because it is plausible what he explained. People just want to make money off the next person...
DeadPresidents: Lowkey everybody from that City 2018/19 team that terrorized the PL is washed.
Sane to Gala Gabriel Jesus is semi-retired Sterling is a reject being punted between London teams like a bad smell Gundogan and De Bruyne have lost their legs Kyle Walker is finished
At this point, maybe we should ask what Pep did to that team. E resemble jazz tbh
Some got to make it to the max level of their natural ability (such as KDB)
The players were that good...For some, injuries and others, age have caught up with them.
odizeey: They always undermine players coming from smaller teams. Seems people don't know we are not in the UCL.
Abi make we go dey bid for Mbappe or Halaand?
We have been burned one time too many...I thought we had agree here that instead of going for the so called World beaters, we should just go after players who are efficient and can do a job but all that is lost once it's summer time...Fans of this club will protest if we had moved for Salah, Mane, VAN Dijk and the likes way back....
odizeey: I'm just tired. We need goal scorers. Someone that fights to the last to get that ball in. we've not had that since ages
The Mendes they're praising is from the same Sporting o!
A Striker that has score over 80 goals in two seasons in the Portuguese league is no flop. Where did Bruno come from again...
Take away Gyokeres, which other top attacker do you have in Sporting? Trincao? Lol...Quenda? Still too young so how exactly did they not expect him to struggle against a defensively solid team like Arsenal? At United, he will have Cunha and probably Mbeumo behind him, two forwards who gave defenses in the EPL a very tough time over the past 2 seasons, you also have Amad, and Bruno, so will Saliba and Gabriel focus all their attention on him? If yes, then, it is a plus as it will leave space for others to exploit...
Sane is done at top level football. He stopped trying after he left City. Maybe Pep was trying to push him so he can fulfill his huge potentials but he wanted none of that...Another talented player who failed to live up to his potential...
odizeey: We like to overthink things in this club. Hehehe
Gyokeres knows how to score. We should be focused on his strengths rather than weaknesses. One of his strengths is being at the right place at the right time. A striker that you can give a through ball and watch him do his thing. Hehehe.
This might be funny but one thing I noticed in FC25 is that they typified almost all the players correctly. I no too sabi play but if I play with sporting the guy dey deliver.
Just watch the video Ep12 shared and you will begin to wonder what is in the video that made him to start doubting Gyokeres.
eghos12: Wait o I did not say Gyokeres is a bad player am only saying that when his purple patch comes can will cool down and handle it and not crucify him.
From this clip you posted, one can see that he is adept at making runs into channels, taking on his marker and finishing...Forget about some of the misses, the ability to find himself in such positions is one thing Hojlund and Zirkzee lack at the moment...I remember when we had Chicharito, with his positioning and movement, he would always find himself in the right positions. However, once you take him off, it will look as if we suddenly can not create chances again because his replacement does not have the same skillset he possesses.
Jamiuokolaa: I would prefer a striker in the mould of Osihmen because it appears his qualities would still come through for him to an extent..... even in an environment that isn't too conducive.
The "Strict" Amorim's Tolerance limits regarding the Nigerian's significant Tik-Tok/Social media presence is another leg entirely.
Again, maybe if Gyokores was a bit cheaper than the prices we are hearing sha..
In all, nothing is guaranteed - na till the players reach here before we go fit know.
toluxe0075: You are right. Man Utd should stick with Hojlund and Zirzkee. Gyokeres with over 50 goals in all competitions last season is really poor. He can’t even even dribble to score or score with his head, something Hojlund and Zirzkee are very good at. All Gyokeres knows how to do is score goals with his legs which is not what Man Utd currently need in a striker.
My brother I tire o! I really want to see the videos they watched because I have watched a lot of his videos and a couple of games.
Jamiuokolaa: He might score a few like this here and there but it seems his major strength is positioning and awareness in the final 3rd.
Also worthy to note that 12 goals thereabouts from whatever tally he had in the Portugese league came from PKs. With Bruno as our setpiece taker, Gyokeres might not have the chance to boost his confidence with PK goals during a rough patch.
He might be an upgrade on our current strikers but i doubt if he would set the PL on fire the way he did in Portugal.
Maybe if he was joining Man city, the story would probably be different sha
eghos12: I just watch some of his YouTube videos God, he is just like other strikers no unique thing. Gone are the days we could see strikers beat a man and score. And also he has a very poor header technique. 1 goal in his last 20 attempts
Please share the videos you watched let me see because the Gyokeres I watched is adept running at defenders and scoring all types of goals. I agree he is not that prolific in the air, but then, it's not like we put a lot of balls into the box.
Some of you are big-time haters. You were celebrating when one clown said the completed section is not up to 30km, yet someone went ahead to show that it is indeed 30km, and you are angry.
How you are praying for your country to fail while wishing you make progress in your respective lives beats me...
metodman: I have some reservations on Gyokeres. I just hope he proves me wrong
From the few games I have seen, I think he is a very good CF...He is adept at drifting out wide (Left side) and running at defenders. He's good on the ball, scores free kicks and is very dependable from the spot.
