I reacted the same way as Mourinho where I am watching the match, we are playing very well and should definitely be ahead...
Rashford isn't ready as I have always opined and Lingard shouldn't be starting games for a club of our status, not when you have Mhiki, Martial and a rejuvenated Rooney on the bench.
We should see this one out.

Well, if one of our ambassador lost his life the way the US Ambassador to Libya did, you did hear fellas run down the government for not being proactive and all...The US isn't as strong as it is made to look, one day when it all goes wrong and they get confrontational with Russia, we would get to know who is who...

If Fatso starts and Mata and Mhiki must start too, then Mourinho has to go with the same formation he used against Fenerbache.

But guys, don't you see we badly need a quality winger especially seeing we've none presently? Our counter-attacks died or terribly dipped with the departure of CR7 and Co. It's no coincidence that the likes of Barca, Madrid and Bayern have had lethal and exciting wingers in recent years who formed deadly partnerships that have catapulted them to glory.

Barca has Neymar and Messi flanking Suarez.
Madrid with Ororo and Bale.
Bayern with Robben and Ribery.

When these set of deadly flying wingers are on the pitch, they stretch their opponents, wear them out and have their opponents doubling up to contain them. United have none. Martial is terrible this season.

Pacy winger like Valencia has zero skills to destroy an opponent one-on-one. Good and skillful wingers are the architect of most counter-attacks. They make runs to start off the counter-attacks. A good example is CR7's third goal for Madrid against Athletico. See the way Bale made a run and Isco instinctively whipped the ball to him and he ran with the ball all the way into the 18-yard box of Atletico before squaring for Ororo who also matched his pace to be there on time to bury the chance. Now imagine if Rooney or Mata was Bale. They will just take one step and then turn around and kill a counter-attack that could have resulted in a goal. I doubt that apart from Martial, there's any other United winger that could successfully skin a full-back alive in a one-on-one position. Our attacks have dipped with our lack of quality wingers. Lingard with all his pace has little intelligence to beat opponents with it.

If I was made the United coach today, a Robben-esque winger along with a top striker will be my first priority.
I get your point but all I'm saying is; we shouldn't start Lingard or go about chasing any body that believes he is a winger for the sake of it, bar the quality of players you highlighted above, I don't see any quality winger around who is half as good as the guys you mentioned. If you're made the coach today, you'd be limited to the quality of guys like Carrasco, Mahrez, D. Costa etc

West Ham play physical and brutish football. Mata will be easily subdued on that wing; and to play well he'll move into the number 10 position clogging it up for Mhiki and leaving Valencia to defend and attack all by himself. If I'm a coach, Mata will never be on my wings. I'd rather Rash or Lingard start there. Or even put Valencia there and use TFM as the RB.
If we play to our strength, West ham will be camped in their half for majority of the game. I see Miki more as a RW than Mata so I'd interchange their positions.
For all of this, Rooney is gonna start, most definitely.

Nice line-up, but I'd remove Mata from that wing and put Rashford or Lingard there; Mata is most effective from Mhiki's position
No, MAta must start if fit, he is creative and has the tendency to always pop up with a goal or two. Lingard is best as a sub when the opposition are prolly tired and exhausted.
The only suspect is Blind who will be an obvious target for West ham, still have not forgotten about last season where he was responsible for our defeat.

It's only on this thread that when one points out the truth he's labeled a Hater. Like coz it's Pogba we shouldn't state facts? Nobody's position has been a problem like that of Pogba all these while. So I don't know why some people hate the truth. A week back I was even the one saying Pogba hasn't been bad like the dailies and pundits have been wailing about.

Just coz someone rightly suggested that Shaw should improve and we're labeled Oliver Twist. Person no fit say truth again. I just tire.
As in eh I just tire for some of us...Pogba is getting better cos he is doing less and less of fanciful stuffs...
Smalling and Shaw like Wilshere are the typical English spoilt kids, they don't go the extra mile and are content just to receive their pay checks irrespective of their performance, just look at Sanchez who was injured to still worked hard to get fit to put Uruguay to the sword and also face us at old trafford, that's the kind of mental toughness and determination that we want to see from the lads.

The thing about Zlatan is his ability to drop into pockets of space and allow the likes of Mata, Mhki and Rooney take up striking positions, He continuously leaves the opposition CBs confused as to whether to follow him or maintain their position.
I still say "Ibra ahead of Rashford"

Phil Jones is a very good Center defender, unfortunately injury is stalling him. There is absolute calm to our defence since his return. He makes it looks easy and cool. He played the last 25 minutes of this match limping, hope it is not going to be back to the clinic.

We have head to head advantage over Feyenoord and Fernabache. If only we drew at Fernabache, we would have been sure of winning the group.

Good football from the lads today.

I can't fault your position on Jones, he has been rock solid since his return to the team...I'm looking forward to the period where we'll have all our players fit and on form.

I don't care about the comparison with the left-back of Monaco, all I know is that Shaw needs to improve. He's performing below the hype he came with from Southhampton.
At least you're objective enough to see that he hasn't lived up to expectation thus far...I still have think he will come good with more dedication and mental toughness

To praise the left back of Monaco and point out that Shaw needs to improve his game and overall toughness equals to a plastic or fickle fan abi? Some of you guys here are just impossible.
Is Shaw doing as well as he should? I think not, he should improve or be shipped out as with a host of the other players on the books of the club...

One should not take noise about an under18 set up too seriously because not all of those players will progress as expected and also frustratingly it is difficult to predict which of them will progress. e.g Lingard and Michael Keane were probably 2 of the least talented of their group but apart from Pogba they are the ones making news professionally.
Having said that Gomes, Buffonge, Tahith Chong and Boonen look quite talented. Buffonge and Gomes are quite quick and tricky though small sized and Boonen while not athletically gifted appears the most intelligent of the lot. Very early days though, you never know if you are watching the next Ravel Morrison or the next Ryan Giggs.
Tahith Chong is the player I'm most optimistic about in our youth set up...

Why is he giving us had I known selections? Zlatan is suspended, bailly, smalling and Valencia are all out for the next month at least so what is his point? At least give the coach something to think about by listing AVAILABLE players!

The front 3 idea of rash, Miki and martial is the only thing workable and also one that I agree with! I also think Bastian and rooney should be on the bench for such a big game....they can influence things in the 2nd half if things go pear shaped....
The midfield seems like the ideal midfield that can control games and protect the back four in equal measure, the biggest issue is how to fit in mata but I'd be willing to see us line up like thisa from midfield to attack against Arsenal.

Gary Neville says he would leave out both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney from Manchester United’s starting XI.

In a talk at the Oxford Union, the former United defender said he would play Marcus Rashford up front, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial both starting in wide positions.

Neville went for David De Gea in goal, a back four of Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind, and a midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick.
Exactly, he just listed what should be our starting team, only debatable position is Rashford ahead of Ibra for the time being...

Barca had nothing to play for hence Man City win wasn't exceptional just like Brazil had nothing to play thus we can't make much out of Coutinho's performance, fair enough?

Brazil is not in danger they top the table and 4-5 countries qulify. This is not a crucial game for Brazil maybe it is for Argentina but not for Brazil

Scoring one goal will not make Coutinho any higher than his tier just like it didnt do for Crouch Vardy or Oliseh

Martial is better suited to the left and even he is having an indifferent season. If Zlatan keeps fit, an extension will be best for us provided he accepts reduced game time.
