raumdeuter:Is it about who played or who is better? Naingolan or Casemiro/gustavo who's your pick as DM? Fernandinho is a better pick than Dembele in the set up above, with an Attack of Neymar, De Bruyne, Coutinho you don't need a dembele in your midfield...The average Barca fan is all out for who will partner Busquet with defensive solidity and not a dribbler cos their forward line is adept at getting the job done. Coutinho inferior to De Bruyne? The same guys we're watching week in, week out in the EPL? And FYI, Coutinho is adept playing on the wings. |
raumdeuter:Naingolan and Dembele is more like Fernandinho and Toure they're hardly the DMs that prefer protecting the back four over bumping forward to join in the action. Carrasco can't bench Coutinho in any team even if he lived twice. With the set of players behind the CF, you need a player who's far more comfortable with ball to feet rather than a target man thus Firmino edges it. |
Even when Bayern plays Dortmund, the traffic doesn't compare to what we have here now, not sure this is a football club's thread... |
congratz Explorers |
raumdeuter:To win argument, you don start to rate Lukaku, I forgot about Firmino that's why I opted for Lukaku in my earlier lineup but if you want a striker that'll complement the quality of players behind him, Firmino easily oust Lukaku...Hehehe Naingolan and Dembele? Who shields the back four? Carasco for all his exploits lately doesn't stand a chance against coutinho... |
PietroRico:Shey you know you're not nice abi? |
21Savagw:Okay |
raumdeuter:I didn't drop Debruyne, I clearly played him from the right and Coutinho through the middle, you can interchange their position if it you like... I'm looking at a player who can protect the back four efficiently and I think Gustavo/Casemiro are better in this regard. Carrasco? He makes the bench where he has strong competition from Costa, Moura. In attack, you can easily replace lukaku with Firmino for fluidity...Let me see your combined eleven. |
In the GK position, Courtois is better than Caesar but other than that, Brazil have a better Bench...If Diego Alves is picked as first choice I'd say it's a close call... LB: Marcelo/Fabinho/Sandro/Filipe is better than anything Belgium brings to the fore... CBs: I'd pick Toby Alderweireld and any of Silva/Luiz/Marquinhos RB: Alves despite is age is better than anything Belgium brings forth DM: Luiz Gustavo is better than Naingolan, Fernandinho is better than Witsel, Casemiro is also better than the both Belgians when it comes to protecting the back four. LCF: Neymar over Hazard AM: Coutinho over De Bruyne LCF: De Bruyne CF: Lukaku for the time being, in no distant time, we'd be talking Gabriel Jesus. Others might play Neymar as the CF to accommodate Hazard and drop Lukaku and interchange the positions of Coutinho and De Bruyne... It's not too difficult to see that Brazil easily has the better players and better team than Belgium... Cc: Griffon, raumdeuter, airmark, Adisaowala |
Griffon:He'll prolly reply by saying Hazard has 2 champions league while Musa has a much better record...Hahaha watch out... On a serious note, I'd love to read his response to your question. In their defence, the only player I think has the potential to become great is Toby Alderweireld, Vertoghen is just too error prone... In midfield, De bruyne stands out and is world class... In Attack, all I see is potentials and no finished product. So, all in all we have two world class players + hazard. |
airmark you're just too funny, your activity here is what's keeping this thread alive...Don't stop bro. |
The Americans will hype just about everything they manufacture, the day it happens we will know who is truly the most powerful nation in the world, talking about military capabilities. |
The electoral college is designed to give lowly populated state an equal opportunity in the grand scheme of electing the potus...Only members of the house (upper and lower house) vote to choose their leaders, since the distribution of senators is equal and reps dependent on population, it gives small states a voice in the process... In Nigeria for instance a man from Kano is always gonna win vs a man from Delta with links in cross river cos the population of kano alone is more than that of delta and cross river combined but if we adopted the American system, it'd be 3 vs 6 senators and the members of the lower house to decide of emerges victorious... |
raumdeuter:Do you rate Ibra, Giggs, Cantona etc |
This post reeks of naivety and timidity...In the OP's desire to sound politically correct, he tries to reduce the significance of the event in question to an election concerning those who are to be voted for, eligible to vote or are Americans when in fact it is a global affair because America's foreign policy has far reaching consequences of which Nigeria isn't immune to. I know it's a good strategy to once in a while have or present a different argument/view but when you do it for the sake of it, you come across as timid. |
raumdeuter:You wrote an ignorant post and I corrected you and instead of acknowledging your mistake you want to shift the goal post...Always remember that better players don't necessarily equate to great team... As for the Hazard argument, jumping from thread to thread reeling out stats but if Chelsea fans substitute Hazard for Iniesta you'll start acknowledging that there's a lot more to football than goals and assist like dragging players out of position and retaining possession etc You only see the things you want to see... |
raumdeuter:For your football knowledge, you still don't know that better players doesn't necessarily mean a better team. A. Madrid, Leicester City of Last season, wales at the Euros and Portugal all had/have great teams but average players in most positions on the pitch compared to the big guns |
UniqueGem, when I'm brewing, I stay off the internet...Do the same |
Pep is doing to Toure what Mou is doing to Schweini but nobody is talking about it... In Barca, Enrique has comletely frozen Vidal out of the team but nobody deems it fit to say a word... In Chelsea Conte is going about business without Ivanovic and Terry (club legends) but nobody says nothing, Mou benches Rooney for a few games and the media is already asking questions. Sakho isn't getting a look at Pool and Balo didn't get a chance under Klopp but hey it's all good... The campaign against Mourinho is real... |
bykebyke:So, why is nobody on Pep's case or Conte for dropping Ivanovic or Zidane for his treatment of James |
I'm happy most folks here are beginning to question the decision of Enrique to completely freeze vidal out of the team, if it was Mourinho, the world would have stood up and noticed, infact the criticism of Mou's treatment of Schweini died down when Pep vs Toure ish became evident. |
edoyad:It's lines like the bold that's making raumdeuter and A40 with those up barca boys hate on the EPL...Simply put, you're not nice... |
Diademk07:Well, we have to make do with the current crop of players until January... |
inFamouz:Well, I put it to the standards we have come to associate with United over the years, however, it's no excuse for the perceived negativity here... |
When Pogba keeps things simple he plays good... Rooney had a great game today as did Ibra... Carrick again proved that he is the best CM in the team, he brings so much control to our game... Replace Fellaini with Herrera and this could just be our team going forward except ofcourse the returning defenders |
OBTSubtle:But most folks here claimed he was the best... |
DarkRebel101:Of course I know, but there was a time where most of your fellow Barca fans here proclaimed he was the best in his position world over just because the Spanish national team coach called him up ahead of Carvajal, Bellerin and Juanfran... He's simply not good enough to be the starting right back for Barca. Roberto, Mascherano, Busquet and Suarez are playing below their usual standard. |
Sergi Roberto isn't quite as good as some of you will have us believe, I saw Kolarov pressing him back, can't really recall anytime Alves was forced on the back foot for 90mins... |
Some folks on the sports section will never change, they've all of a sudden forgotten how Mou's Madrid went toe to toe with Barca and won, creating more scoring chances and an even possession...For them, if you don't play the Barca way, you're parking the bus... |
For me, I'll say it's the system that has made the team the force that it is and has been over the years, take away the wonderfully crafted system and watch how most of the lads will struggle, Sergio Busquet is struggling because the focus of the team has shifted from ball retention to chasing shadows...Enrique wants to remodel the way the team plays (Plan B things) but he is getting it all wrong... Busquet isn't a good DM with emphasis on protecting the back four, he can recycle possession and dictate the play but that isn't enough nowadays where a bit of grit force and pace is an invaluable weapon... Upfront, Suarez lack of pace isn't helping matters too. |
Odunharry:I just tire for the guy, he is plain useless... |
Why on earth is Lingard starting games for us, that dude is bang average at best... |
