The same billions failed to transform Mikel, failed to transform many others yet some so called analyst wanna shove it down our throats? UniqueGem: True but Lingard is still not good enough. Evidence was everywhere immediately Mkhitaryan started touching the ball. Jese still has so much to learn, There won't be a better teacher for him than Mkhi. Exactly my thoughts, Lingard is a squad player anyhow you look at it... |

Opelope community defence He's hardly a big fan of Luiz from his comments on their thread...Anyway, it's not unusual to find fans complaining when a player makes a mistake during a match. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by patrickmuf(m): 3:53pm On Dec 26, 2016 |
raumdeuter: Bournemouth lacks quality and they are a lower level side, City and Liverpool are the PL sides that play the most possesion this season and their defence gets exposed much more than others. They have both conceded more goals than anyone in top 7
Bayern defence gets exposed regularly especially in the days of Guardiola and its left to Boateng to race 30yards in a high line to block attackers. We saw how some of these defenders fared in a high line when AVB deployed it.
If na community defending any one will look good in it Liverpool are more like Madrid, all out attack, end to end stuff, can't really associate their play to that of Barca/Arsenal/Bayern |

raumdeuter: You think dominating possesion helps with defending? Have you seen how City dominating possesion is helping their defence?
Its a known fact that defnders in a community defence defensive style all cover for others than in possesion where they are exposed on counter attacks Possession game get levels, Arsenal play possession football, Bournemouth too, Bayern, Barca, Villareal etc but there's a level to it all...How many times do Bayern get exposed? How many times do Bournemouth get exposed? |

olabode89: UNITED'S LINE-UP United: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Blind; Carrick, Herrera, Pogba; Mata, Lingard; Ibrahimovic. Subs: Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Fellaini, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rashford Today's game will require a lot of craft rather than pace, I'd prefer if Miki was brought straight into the lineup rather than Lingard (He did well against Tottenham who have flying fullbacks) but today, we're gonna be up against a team that defends with 10 men... |

Even Luiz wey dey benefit from community defending in Chelsea dem dey mention am with defenders?
Luiz who still makes several mistakes per game almost all the Chelsea games he still makes errors which other defenders cover for Community defending you say? How about Boateng who profits from Bayern's domination of possession? Bonucci isn't top 5? Have you watched Toby or you're just hating? Your opinion on Luiz is your ego at work |

elampiro: I don't think Mata would have helped. Mata flourish when United dominates, but unseen when we are dominated, particularly when dominated with long balls. Lingard would have done better than Mata. Lingard has a good defensive sense and he would have combined well with Valencia to take the ball forward on a counter.
Carrick and Herrera who had more defensive abilities were not able to cope with the long balls, so Mata wouldn't have done anything. We were doing fine with their long balls, Mata's link up play is just about the best in the team that's why I think he'd have served us better especially with the exit of Miki... |

zlatan10: What then is the use of carrick? So Carrick can and should have controlled the play all by himself? Carrick as good as he is needs ball playing guys around him just the same way Xavi thrived with Iniesta, Busi, Messi etc...If you seek to control a game or at least gain some semblance of control, you don't take out Miki for Fellaini. |

SIRcumalot: everton dey pepper us with long balls playing fellani was the obvious move i just wish he kept his cool,am a big fan of the guy. he fit no recover. we also got away with rojo who no suppose dey field again. that everton game was just horrible from the very start. micki gaining confidence is the only thing good about the match. They were peppering us but we weren't giving much away in the way of chances rather we kept on surrendering possession for much of the second half, the best thing to do at that point was to introduce a calming presence, a player who could retain possession intelligently...We had that player in Mata but Mou thought otherwise. |

Seriously, a size-able number of Barcelona fans are emotional and childish...So because the main players on this thread are quick to support Laliga and Barcelona when Airmark is on rampage on their thread, he obviously thinks it's sane to return the favor even when the point his "imaginary allies" are defending is one that doesn't hold sway...It's a pity. |

TRendlona: Aguero doesn't have any Champions league to his name, he was no where to be found in Argentina's road to the WC final and Copa America final. He has only showed up for Man City and maybe Atletico Madrid. Even Higuain try pass am for national level.
Kaka was a great player but he lacked longevity. I can't say he's overrated but he isn't even in the class of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Delima and co not to talk of Pele, Maradona and Messi.
Lampard was a great midfielder in his time there's no doubt about that. He won the Champions league, Europa cup, Premiership, FA cup etc but didn't show up at international level. He couldn't even make it to any semi final nor even third place.
Boateng has shown up in every aspect both club level and international level. He has won the World cup, Champions league, DFB pokal, Super cup etc He didn't just win it but he made great contributions to the victory. IMO, Boateng isn't an overrated defender. He showed up when it mattered . I'm still vexed at the way he and his co defenders stopped Messi during the WC final. The tin still dey pain me cos if not them, Messi would have had a WC to his name. When it comes to Kaka, you start placing him side-by-side with other greats of the game, if we compare Boateng to Baresi, Beckanbeaur, Puyol, Maldini, Nesta etc he would look below average and you'd likely get beat for such foolish comparison. |

The press and recent events have caged the Mou I used to love to hate, talking about his Chelsea days and Inter days...The Mou that got me shivering every time we were up against his team will not hesitate to take Pogba or Ibra or anyone else off if the player wasn't following strict instructions even if it was in the first half, the Mou I know would have sidelined Fellaini since he made that foolish pass that lead Leicester equalize in the community shield clash...Mourinho looks exhausted and out of ideas, he needs go back to his controversial self, the "us against the world" driven tactician he used to be. |

GloryIsaac: Well, Idk how he's gonna up his game when he's being played out of position. You're sounding like Pogba is a teenager, he is competing with Carrick and Herrera for a place in the midfield and for me, Herrera is untouchable cos he offers us something different and I don't see Pogba replacing Carrick so what is his use? He doesn't cover as much distance as Herrera, he doesn't dictate the tempo like Carrick, he isn't as creative as mata nor does he offer the same goal scoring threat, he should up his game or do his time on the bench... |
