Collynzo22: Only those who have something to hide are against seeing military men around during elections. With enough security around someone in Kanao can vote PDP without fear of having his head cut off and someone in Anambra can vote APC without fear of being given the beaten of his life, their presence will only increase voter turn out. Military men where present in Edo, Anambra, Ekiti and Osun elections, PDP won only one of those four elections. When you talk about military, I hope it's the police you're referring to? The NA have no business whatsoever in an election... Seeing military men armed more than those in the troubled North East is enough to scare potential voters |

FrankC3: From this article, despite frantic efforts by SH to sound alarmist, it is still very clear that no new jet is being purchased, rather a trade in is being done for one of the available jets. For those who know, in such procurements, manufacturer trade in could be aimed at achieving sustained warranty support, equipment and spare parts availability and to save money in the long run. It is often more expensive to maintain an older model of a product than to trade it in for a new one with better features. That is part of why firms change even official cars after 3 years most times.
Is the size of the Nigeriam Government large, yes! Is this particular procurement a wastage, we do not have enough information to say yet. During budget defence, the leader of Presidential Airfleet will be on ground to present his reasons and APC NASS members will have their chance to engage in logic and not all this emotional outburst by farmiliar handles on NL. In your bid to sound intelligent, you actually goofed big time... If cost of maintenance is the reason you put forward for this utterly ridiculous idea, wouldn't it be logical to do a trade off involving the other 8 birds in the fleet for new ones with much cheaper cost of maintenance? Because as it stands, we'll still be spending a fortune maintaining the other 8 old jets in the Presidential fleet...Whichever way you look at it, it just doesn't sound like an idea conceived by right thinking chaps. |

Youngsage: No bro. Angels are spiritual beings, each angel is a spirit being capable of making choices/carrying out actions, though without physical bodies like humans they are still individual personalities, and just like humans, they were created with freewill, or will-power, which is subject to the will of God. They are also highly intelligent beings. In Satan's case, you need to understand how powerful he was in heaven at the time, so powerful yet he wasn't satisfied! He wanted to rule over Heaven. And because of this freewill, he decided to rebel against God. God had created him a beautiful and powerful angel, but through his pride in himself and greed he became evil. God had to throw him out immediately, for he couldn't remain there any longer. - together with as many as one third of the angels. Like Satan, they had freewill, and following Satan was their choice entirely. Hope i've answered ur questions Threw him down to earth to become a problem to man? This whole story is trash |

Politics › Re: Buhari In Quest To Secure Nigeria!! The Thisday Interview That Bared It All by patrickmuf(m): 4:21am On Dec 20, 2014 |
calebo101: I was more concerned about his plans on fighting corruption cos i nor dey hear word since with Buhari-will fight-corruption-people. I dissected his response to those questions.
Question..... In your party, the APC, there are many people accused of corruption, so how do you first put your house in order and then deal with the hydra-headed issue of corruption?
*"We cannot go on the way we did in the military in 1983 to fight corruption".. This is the main point of Buhari's propagandists that he would fight corruption but the man himself clearly has no idea how to do that in this modern Nigeria. First of all he admitted that he cannot act like he did in 1983 because this is a democratic regime and not 1983 where his word was law!!! He understood there are layers you have to go through.
*"So what you do is to persuade them and tell them to help to amend it" Like really After all the propaganda of Buhari will fight corruption, this is all he would do, persuade?? Ok, lets move on.
*"part of these are in courts and you cannot interfere with the judiciary, no matter how bad you believe the judiciary is" I commend Buhari for recognizing firstly that corruption is entrenched deeply in the whole system already. Like i always tell people, fighting corruption is not a day's job. Buhari would not be able to unless our constitution is totally purged and draconian laws with capital punishment inserted in it and in doing so the support of the Legislative (corruption personified agency) and Judiciary would be needed. Buhari recognizes these facts.
*"Cases that have been struck out, the government will move forward" Some illiterates keep accusing Jonathan of hobnobbing with "criminals", whereas the law court has already acquitted them of any wrong doings. Buhari knows!!!
*"But to say that you are going to investigate, I am afraid that government will not last a quarter because the institutions have been compromised." , there it goes. Buhari has no plan to fight corruption. He doesn't seem to have the magic wand like some people rant everyday and surprisingly despite his limited education he sounds more smarter than some peeps on this forum, i must say.
Question.....So there is no capacity to investigate corruption and what you are proposing is to draw a line going forward?
Answer........Yes, to be honest, the capacity is not there because as I said, institutions have been compromised but if you say I am not going to participate in corruption, I am not going to tolerate it from day one, I hope the people will believe it and those that have cases in court have to give way so that people that have not been caught because God help those caught helping themselves then. We can deal with them. But as I said, you cannot go head on as we did under the military.
*I still see no clear plan to tackle corruption, his presumed rallying point.
Question....... Essentially to understand you sir, so all these governors who are alleged to be corrupt, all these senators and others, you are drawing the line. Is that amnesty for corruption?
Answer........."The important thing is that I mentioned it, you don't have the capacity to catch the big thieves right now, you don't have the capacity. You have to do it gradually because, as I said before, all the institutions have been compromised".
*That statement is self explanatory.
Firstly, Buhari has no plan to fight corruption just because he simply cannot!!!
Secondly, He tactfully tried evading the question of what happens to his cronies and allies accused of corruption and he clearly insinuated they are FREE TO GO.
Thirdly if this is all he can say about fighting corruption then i have been right all the way. Buhari is stale without any plan. I know he himself would not be able to understand his economic blueprint because he has no idea what it means.
In conclusion, i do not know what change they keep shouting about.
GEJ till 2019!!! He talked about strengthening institutions which is absolutely spot on... |

Politics › Re: What Do You Understand By Stealing Is Not Corruption? by patrickmuf(m): 9:01am On Dec 07, 2014 |
noblezone: I will give you an example.
A committee was raised to assist people displaced by Boko Haram. N50 million was voted for that purpose.
Stealing: All the monies were shared appropriately and food stuffs purchased. One of the committee members given 1000 bags of rice for a particular groups of the people. He stole 100 bags and and sent only 900 bags. that is stealing. It has nothing to do with government or the committee. It will be wrong to accuse the government or the committee of corruption. If that man is caught, he is on his own.
Corruption: The committee members would agree to share some of the money among themselves. They would buy 200 bags of rice and record 2000 and then share the money. Here you can accuse the committee of corruption.
Stealing is an individual being greedy. Corruption is a collective greed of the people working together.
He was saying if somebody working for the government stole, it is not enough to conclude the government is corrupt. You have people working in banks that steal. That a staff of a bank stole does not mean the bank is corrupt. Bank becomes corrupt when all the workers work together consciously to cheat their customers.
I blame Mr. President though for using such words to communicate to a people who are already closed minded. He should have know that Nigeria is a jungle where survival of the most brutal is the only law. Going by your logic, a minister that steals does so on his own accord, will it also be fair to praise the minister for his achievements instead of the government? Also, if each minister, senator, governor or any individual in a position steal without the corroboration of others, it is still fair to tag it as stealing and not corruption? Point is if you know a thief and don't report the thief to the appropriate authority, technically you're also a thief (corrupt) For the President to admit to the activities of thieves and still not do anything to forestall or checkmate them, he is also corrupt... |

Kutunban: I hope the gullible Nigerians will understand the president reasons why he wouldn't sponsor terrorism on its people, because even if its a conspiracy to gain political points I can categorically say it will back fire.
Reasons why I think some elements in the opposition are behind the terror are :
The inciting comments of Buhari before the 2011 elections, that they will make the country ungovernable if election is rigged. Who determines if election is rigged INEC or GMB?
Secondly, the inciting comments of Asiwaju Tinubu during the recent inauguration of Osun state governor that people should get ready with their charms. Are we expecting a war in Nigeria?
And also the recent comments of the Rivers state governor saying, if election is rigged APC real thuggery will manifest and that there will be two government. Is the governor an anarchist or a democrat?
Least i forget, i thought we have courts of appeal where aggrieved politicians can submit their case.
