Brother, I never went to CU. But what that school has, Believe me UI that was rated #1 is not close to it. I've been to most federal schools in the southwest which are in the top 10. The only thing I think CU is lagging for them not to be rated above UI, Unilag + OAU is the much younger graduates, which is peculiar to newer schools compared to 1st generation schools.

That's a blatant lie. Germany had a massive youth workforce before allowing in a million refugees who have a different orientation and work ethic who have started by rioting and sexually assaulting women in public places by the hundreds.

Germany was being altruistic, don't insult their gesture by giving it such vampiric motives. The Arab world that abandoned those refugees could have picked them if it is such a value to have a massive population.

Examples of reasonable management of huge population is China and Japan.

From what I gather, CBN has lost confidence in local organisations. They constantly pleaded with the BDCs to bring the rate down, to no avail. CBN at a point doubled the weekly payout valume to $60,000 to try and bring the rate down, but it even got worse! Not only did the BDCs flagrantly sold way higher than the stipulated rate, they sold in bulk, using fake documents to render returns to the CBN.

Travelex already sanitised Lagos BDC operation, which CBN themselves could not do in years! Lagos BDC operators confirmed this. This present situation played out in 2002/03. The official to parallel market rate margin was very high. Travelex was called in to help out, which they did. They are very professional, experienced, with sound expertise. If we need to play by the rules, they are the way to go. And for the records, Travelex is not American owned.

Thanks for the enlightenment. Though doesn't tell enough on how the CBN can't organise the retail process. Or run a BDC outlets.

The CBN is proposing to replace Bureau De Change (BDC) operators with Travelex. This move will allow Travelex to take over the retail segment of the BDCs, in order to checkmate the inflated exchange rate by the BDCs against the official rate from the CBN.

A quick research on Travelex tells that the firm is foreign, owned by the US. https://www.travelex.com
Which means the maximum profit from this deal with Travelex doesn't belong to Nigeria(ns), irrespective of the amount of Nigerians this foreign exchange dealer employs.

An alternative way out
The CBN has branches in all state capitals, which I believe handing over this operation of creating minimum of three outlets (exchange offices) in every top three cities of their states can be effectively handled by them. And more outlets for populated cities with much economics activities.

The benefits
The exchange rate can be perfectly regulated with minimum gap between the official rate and the parallel market rate.
Profit goes to the government after those Nigerians employed(by the CBN state HQs) to work in these outlets have been paid.

With the present state of the economy, I believe the Government should encourage the citizens against too much dependence on foreign services and goods that we can create locally. Except the CBN does not have the financial expertise and logistics that Travelex has, there is no brain in this proposed deal.

Same way how our budget contains certain millions to be spent on German rides for the presidency in 2016. What stops them from buying locally assembled foreign automobiles, if they have no interest in locally mades ones (for reasons best known to them)?

Perhaps there is something I'm missing, Economists should please explain to us how 'Travelex' is the best option for retailing of foreign exchange.

This country shouldn't be for sale.

Perhaps you weren't on this forum yet, during fashola's second term when some shops were closed because the users of those shops were not taking care of their environment enough. Which was termed an act against the easterners.

It should no longer be of any secret, that two of Nigeria's tallest developments are currently ongoing in in the Federal Capital Territory, namely: Millennium Towers & WTC Abuja. This diagram should shed some light on just where the two imposing and ongoing developments in Abuja stack up, both in Nigeria and in Africa.

There are a few particularities however to clear up, as mentioned in a previous blog post. The first area of contention, is whether the Necom House (Nitel Building), should be measured to its antenna (Which is not an architectural feature, but telecoms infrastructure/light house). CTBUH measures such non architectural features in only 1 of the 3 categories, that it uses to measure tall buildings. The second area of contention is whether the Millennium Tower, should even be classed as a building. As mentioned in the previous blog entry, with less than 50% of its structural envelope habitable; it cannot be classed as such

No doubt, he has been erecting standard school buildings, but he also needs to finance running of these schools. The structures are useless if the teachers are not teaching because of owed salaries by the government.

The Lagos Lagoon stretches longer than most people think, It passes through Ogun, to Ondo, I think it ends in Delta

Before these measures were put in-place, this is how it was done:

There is a form that your banker fills and is signed by the sender (either "form A" or "form ..." )

These documents are to be presented to your banker as well, which s/he sends to the CBN in soft copy, as the CBN must approve any transfer into foreign bank account.

*Your admission letter into the university where you're schooling (abroad)
*Evidence of payment of school fees (receipt)
*Bank details (your foreign bank account that is to be credited)
*Data page of your international passport
*Authority letter to debit the account the money is to be debited from

This can be done any day of the week, and it takes about two weeks before your foreign accounts receives the credit.

But presently, it can only be done once in a week. You should contact your banker to give a specific day that this is done in your bank.
I believe it takes longer than two weeks now, this time around that things are tougher

I'm not sure this is possible in all banks, but I'm sure it's possible with First Bank.

If you can meet all they requested for crediting your foreign account as a student, the transfer works. I know people who did and my banker also confirmed it to me yesterday.

If it is school fees in the top currencies, you have no problem. Though not easier as before, because it's only possible in one day of the week.

Your banker should be able to help.
The OP even stated it.

It's interesting that our local languages are being recognized.

I bought a new laptop with Deutsche as its default language, while trying to change it to a language I can comprehend, I realised there were options for yoruba and Igbo language, I think Hausa was also included. Really cool..

One challenge I've been having typing in Yoruba, is the absence of keys for lower punctuations. Perhaps, not too many users of latin's alphabets have the lower punctuation marks like the yoruba language.
