Ajimobi is truly changing the face of IB city, but he has relaxed in his strict ways against dirtiness, because of 2015 election. Iwo road is returning to its old dirty ways, with motorists parking under the bridge.

That governor has also tried in attracting investors and investments to the city, at least I know of five new malls in Ib today. Foodco opened their second mall like 3 months ago.

Pathetic if true. It's no doubt that many of them are in those positions for themselves and never for the populace. But what's left for the few aware voters is to choose between these rogues we call our leaders, the lesser devil. This is the case of Osun, and I think both the aware and unaware voters got it right voting for Aregberascal(the manageable rogue).

Lol, Osun owes her civil servants two months salary, this month 'll make it three months. But still better when compared to states owing her workers salaries of 9months or even more with more or doubled monthly allocation.

Governors seriously should think deep and get off excess dependence on oil money.

One important criteria many ignore when assessing performances of state governors is monthly allocation.

PoliticsRe: APC To Spend N700 Million On Aregbeola Inauguration. by PaulJohn1: 6:54pm On Nov 25, 2014

APC blasts PDP for N700m inauguration allegation

The All Progressives Congress has described an allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party that it is planning to spend N700m on the inauguration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola as a reflection of the corruption inherent within the opposition party.

A statement by the Osun State chapter of the PDP, on Monday, accused the APC of planning to expend N700m on the inauguration of the governor coming up on Thursday.

The Director of Publicity of the PDP in Osun State, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, said this in a statement on Monday.

But the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Osun APC, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, described the allegation as untrue and pedestrian.

Oyatomi, in a statement, on Monday, said the “brazen enormity of the corruption being perpetrated under the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration is responsible for the PDP to think that all governments are corrupt.”

“It is unthinkable for anyone to allege that a state government is planning to spend N700m on such an event. What is the APC going to spend the N700m on? Printing of posters? Or buying water? The PDP should give a breakdown of how the N700m would be spent.”

Odeyemi said it was worrisome that while workers were being owed two month salaries, the governor was planning to waste N700m on the ceremony.

The PDP said, “Why is Aregbesola now finding it very difficult at the moment to pay workers? Is it true that the various banks the state is indebted to are slicing out the money accruable to Osun once funds are released to the state from the federation account? These are posers Aregbesola must quickly answer.

But the APC debunked the allegation saying, “Those in the leadership of the PDP need help. The PDP are enemies of the workers. Just today, Aregbesola empowered the workers of Osun with N2bn through the assistance of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The PDP was in power for seven and a half years, what did they do in Osun? They only left the masses impoverished.”

Meanwhile, the Osun State APC has called on its supporters to observe three days of fasting and prayers for the inauguration to be hitch-free.

Oyatomi said this in a statement on Monday.

The statement read, “The APC is calling on well-meaning citizens of the state and its supporters to observe three days of fasting and prayers from Tuesday for a smooth, peaceful and dignified second term inauguration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the governor of the state.

“Osun State needs all the divine protection it can get against the machinations of people sworn to evil and brewed in violence, so that everything goes well.

“The people’s will in the state will always prevail against the kind of unofficial terrorism which Osun lived through before and after the August 9 election that confirmed a second term for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

“We, therefore, cannot afford to be complacent in a situation where lawlessness, impunity and reckless misuse of power appear to be the order of the day in a country that is precariously sliding into evil, darkness and man’s inhumanity to man for political, selfish and irresponsible desperation for power.”

PoliticsRe: Don't Join Me In Your Gangsterism, Oshiomhole Tells Fayoshe. by PaulJohn1(op): 4:35pm On Nov 20, 2014
Very straightforward, especially the last two paragraphs.
PoliticsDon't Join Me In Your Gangsterism, Oshiomhole Tells Fayoshe. by PaulJohn1(op): 4:29pm On Nov 20, 2014
The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday urged his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Ayodele Fayose, not to drag his (Oshiomhole) name into the “political gangsterism that has become peculiar with the Ekiti State Governor.”

Oshiomhole spoke in reaction to a statement credited to the Ekiti Governor that he (Oshiomhole) shut down the Edo State House of Assembly and relocated sitting to the Government House.

The Edo Governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, said that there was no crisis in state assembly, adding that 15 of the 24-member Assembly were members of the All Progressives Congress, while the other nine were of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He explained that of the nine PDP members, three were on suspension while the seat of another member had been declared vacant, which he said reduced the number of PDP lawmakers in the house.

While noting that decorum, respect and responsibility were elements of governance, Oshiomhole urged his Ekiti counterpart to “stop dropping the name of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to shore up his jaded image.”

Oshiomhole said, “We find it utterly laughable and as the height of political childishness for the Ekiti State Governor to hide behind his media aides and seek to drag the name of the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, into his crude gangster tactics which he has re-introduced into Ekiti politics, less than two months after assuming office.

“If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes.

“Even a kindergarten knows that 15 is greater than 5. So if five PDP members decide to sit with three suspended members and another, whose seat was declared vacant in a chamber which is undergoing renovation, then we can at best regard that as the height of crass legislative irresponsibility.

“It is ridiculous to even contemplate that the Ekiti Governor and his media aides do not know that 15 is greater than five! For sure, they seem engrossed with their stomach infrastructure mantra, such a dubious contraption which can only be contrived by an ideologically clueless and gluttonous administration.

“But for the kind of democracy we practice in Nigeria, where the PDP promotes and condones all manners of illegalities, inanities and shenanigans which have become the second nature of that party, Ayodele Fayose would have been cooling off his heels in gaol rather than brandishing the appellation of being a Governor.

“We are thoroughly ashamed that Ekiti, hitherto known as the fountain of knowledge, is being reduced to a mindless bubble by a man running her affairs without a discernible direction like a drowning man clutching desperately at flotsam.

“If Ekiti people, with all their avowed sophistication and intellectuality, have elected to present a political rascal as their number one citizen, so be it; but they must understand that there is a huge difference between character and infamy.”

PoliticsRe: Where Is The Federal Government Located??? by PaulJohn1: 9:24pm On Nov 18, 2014
The federal government doesn't necessarily translate to a location like it is for each state.
The federal government I believe spends most of her 52% monthly revenue on salaries and very few on projects across the states in the federation plus FCT.

I think the FG spends her 52% this way.
-The presidency takes the biggest chunk. (E.g. the N1b food taken by the first family as said)
-The ministers and their ministries.
-The law makers(highest paid on earth)

-Then salaries of salaries(forces, lecturers, doctors, and the likes...)

-The very few left is spent on few projects in the different states that the President and the governors have good relationship.
