hoilakes: Tecno is JUST the right brand for Nigerians... when you get to the level of using a powerful mid-range device they've got you covered... stop thinking like C1 user
If TECNO na Federal Government of Nigeria ...then we won't be in this situation ...

The party was fun and the energy was good. The phantom x camera is so bad. The house pictures came out so fine ...
Shuregirl: Parties are fun and lit right, but there is no way a party is ever complete without taking amazing pictures – and this what TECNO helped the housemates achieve at the first Saturday night party in the Shine Ya Eyes mansion.
Housemates after taking out time to look their best on the dance floor, gave quality content to their fans via pictures and videos, which were all captured using TECNO’s high-end flagship smartphone, the Phantom X.
There is no way you can doubt that the combination of the housemates’ dazzling looks and the top camera quality of the device gave fans what we can all conclude to be premium content.
TECNO has over the years been giving Nigerians an exciting mobile experience and this cannot be doubted at any point. Just barely a few weeks after the brand launched the premium smartphone, the Phantom X, the brand is sticking to its promise to “Stop At Nothing” to create memorable moments for its audience. And what better way to do this than to light up the BBNaija fun with amazing camera action.
Here are some stunning pictures taken with the extraordinary device from the party on Saturday, where the Phantom X worked its magic.
Whilst TECNO has been pushing the front by continuously upping the game in mobile technology over the years, the brand has also continued to deliver Nigerians with the best of entertainment over and over.
TECNO’s commitment to unlocking the best contemporary technologies for progressive individuals has seen the brand give customers elegantly designed and intelligent products like the Phantom X that would aid in the pursuit of excellence. But the brand is also commited to build extraordinary moments and it is safe to say that there would be more extraordinary moments captured by the BBNaija housemates using the Phantom X.
Don’t miss out on the fun. See you at the next Saturday night party.
What brand can do what TECNO have been doing in Nigeria for years now...?
More wins
sureinfo: Smartphone brand, TECNO, has just received the 2021 Beacon of Information and Communications Technology (BoICT) Award for “Mobile Phone Brand of the Year”. This will make it the second time the brand will be getting this recognition after it did in 2020.
This achievement reaffirms TECNO’s innovative capabilities as a leader in the mobile phone industry. The award was announced at an industry event held on July 24 at Eko Hotels & Suites and was presented by the Keynote Speaker of the day; CEO, Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria, Muhammad Rudman.
Speaking about the Award, Vincent Uzoegbu, PR Communications and Media Manager, TECNO Mobile, West Africa said; “TECNO has always prided itself on designing products that deliver premium experiences and power-packed performances. Unprecedented innovation has been the brand’s hallmark from the get go. We are thankful and honoured at this recognition.”

The brand has been consistent in striving for excellence by delivering the latest in product functions, image, user experience and other areas of mobile technology.
Addressing Industry experts and stakeholders at the event, Muhammad Rudman reiterated the need for the adoption of 5G network in Africa, allaying fears around the safety of the technology in his keynote speech titled “How 5G can Help Internet Service Delivery”.

Rubiesangel: TECNO did well to choose an interesting array of celebrities from different industries.
A few weeks ago, TECNO launched the Phantom X smartphone in an exclusive event at the Hardrock café. Asides the exquisite entertainment and fun, there was one other highlight that stuck out. The brand played for the audience a trailer of their next project.
The snippet showed some of our favourite celebrities spilling the tea about their lives and having fun with Tobi Bakare who seemed to be the host of the show. The vibe we all got that night after watching the trailer was that the show was going to be great fun and we couldn’t wait to watch.
Well, the wait is now over.
The show is called the Phantom Xtraordinaire Show. It is hosted by the fun-loving Tobi Bakre and would be putting the limelight on celebrities who have had bold and extraordinary journeys and an established seat in stardom.
TECNO did well to choose an interesting array of celebrities from different industries; Nollywood actress Rita Dominic, Business consultant and inspirational speaker Fela Durotoye, pioneer beauty entrepreneur Tara Durotoye, WNBA draft Evelyn Akhator, and Founder of SLOT Nnamdi Ezeigbo.
Going by the trailer shown at the launch, each celebrity will take us deep into their personal lives, sharing tips and actionable points. We also know that Tobi Bakre dared the celebrities to carry out some very funny deeds.
The show will be in 6 episodes. The first 3 episodes will air this weekend (starting 23rd July) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:30pm on TECNO’s YouTube channel.
TECNO is calling the Phantom X their first premium smartphone and it looks as though they have sort of done something that is new to TECNO, but pretty much old tech, if you're coming from other Global brands. That edge to edge curved Super AMOLED display is nothing new to Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, Motorola e.t.c. but for TECNO, it's a first. Based on the comparison photos I shared side by side Samsung Galaxy A72, A52 and Poco X3 Pro, the tech community isn't too thrilled by the selfie camera in the very least. Link to the comparison post - https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugz1ft9d-odQ8EtrdZN4AaABCQ
The Phantom X also comes at a price that breaks the bank, as far as midrange phones go. It is priced at N228,000 ($455) and It definitely is one of the most overpriced midrange phones of 2021.
TECNO Phantom X Specs
• 6.7" FHD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED Display • Glass Back (Gorilla Glass 5) • MediaTek Helio G95 • 50MP + 13MP + 8MP Back Camera • 48MP + 8MP Front Camera • 8 +256GB RAM/Storage • 4700mAh Battery (33Watt Charging) • Android 11 • 163.5 x 73.8 x 8.7mm & 201g
With main camera of 50MP, storage of 256GB and RAM 8GB.
What more can I want?
Wia can I buy this phone?
hoilakes: PHANTOM X is a premium smartphone from TECNO available starting July 1st. AndroidHeadlines did a quick preview of the brand new mid-range flagship from TECNO a few days ago.
You can check out the preview article for the unboxing experience. I have been using the PHANTOM X for about a week now and so it’s time to dive into the full review.
PHANTOM X Hardware Impressions
PHANTOM X is a gorgeous-looking smartphone. I am a big fan of my Van Gogh Starry Blue color review device courtesy of Tecno. If you didn’t know anything about this phone you might easily mistake it for a device from Samsung or Huawei. It looks that stylish and premium.
Build quality is absolutely stellar with no rattles or squeaks and all the buttons that have a satisfying click to them. In-hand ergonomics are also excellent thanks to the curved screen and the curved back cover. The overall design of the device and the texture on the back cover result in a good grip on the phone for one-hand use.
Besides design curves and texture on the back surface, PHANTOM has also done a great job with the overall weight distribution. There is minimal to no fatigue while using this phone in one hand. This attention to detail is also applied to the case included in the retail box. The vegan leather finish on the case provides excellent grip while being extremely lightweight.
PHANTOM X comes in two colors – Van Gogh Starry Night Blue and Monet’s Summer. I like my Starry Night Blue review unit quite a bit.
Curved AMOLED Display on the PHANTOM X is easy on the eyes The PHANTOM X has a 6.7 inch curved AMOLED display with a 90Hz high refresh rate. The high refresh rate ensures a smooth user experience during web browsing or scrolling your Facebook feed. The display panel has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 which results in an FHD panel with a high color gamut and very high contrast ratio compared to other devices that have LCD screens.
The 430 nits of brightness results in the ability to view the panel easily while outdoors on a bright sunny day. Ultra-slim bezels all around along with a 19.5:9 screen ratio mean fatigue-free one-handed operation on a daily basis.
The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and PHANTOM includes an HD film screen protector from the factory which is a nice touch.
There are a few other settings that may help you with your overall display experience. These are Always on display, Edge lighting, Inadvertently mode, and Extend to edges. Overall, I am quite impressed with the quality of the display and the number of software settings available to tweak the display to my personal preferences. These should let the PHANTOM X stand out when cross-shopping with other competitive smartphones.
Software is HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 with useful addons PHANTOM X runs on HiOS 7.6 on top of Android 11 with April 2021 security patch. The HiOS is a light skin on top of stock AOSP. There is quite a bit of Google integration in terms of software apps so there are no duplicate email or contacts apps. Messages with RCS chat features is the default app for SMS / texts which is my preferred app on Android. There is however no Google Discover Feed as you swipe left from the home screen.
Battery life is better than expected on the PHANTOM X PHANTOM X packs a 4700 mAh battery which is fairly large and results in every other day charging cycle for normal use. Even under heavy use – GPS, Camera, and general web browsing you can get through a full day without having to worry about charging. In daily use, I saw Screen-on-Time of around 6 hours.
Cameras take really good pictures in various lighting conditions On the back, there’s a triple camera module. The main camera has 50MP 1/1.3 inch ultra large sensor which enables some extremely clear nighttime shots via Super Night 3.0. It uses laser focus which results in quick focusing and balanced exposure in varying light conditions. In fact, this allows the PHANTOM X to take very quick pictures in twilight compared to other smartphones.
Audio quality is way better than other devices in this range PHANTOM X has a single firing bottom speaker but it is loud and clear in terms of audio quality. Of course with a single speaker, the bass can be a bit low but other than that I have no issues with the sound quality. Just make sure you don’t cover the speaker grille at the bottom with your hand while playing videos or during gaming.
I think PHANTOM X has all the right features for an excellent mid-to-high-range phone. The PHANTOM X has stellar-looking hardware, a superb AMOLED curved borderless display, excellent battery life, and 33W fast speedy charging. To top it off, you also get fairly useful software and a great camera experience at a very attractive price.
There are no obvious or glaring flaws with the PHANTOM X. This means that it should definitely be on your shortlist when looking for a premium smartphone.
