Bifwoli: Wow,looks like Nigerians are more widely into consumption than into production on a whole range.
Here's a good saying for Nigerians to live by :Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant - Robert Louis Stevenson Local milk production is very abysmal as Nigeria needs to be producing about 55 million litres of milk daily to meet Kenya's present production!.......Sadly we consume on a whole range far more than we locally produce! |
Business › Re: Nigeria Imports $18m Tooth Picks Yearly – Minister by Pavore9: 9:31pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
''We bring in milk and milk products to the tune of $1 billion dollars per annum because our cows don’t yield enough milk. One litre per a day".......While Kenya that is just about 25% of Nigeria's population is producing about 5 billion litres of raw milk annually, making pasteurized milk one of the cheapest thing to buy in Kenya! There was over supply of milk few months ago forcing milk processors to convert some of the excess to powdered milk and stored while some were poured away and since Kenyans don't naturally take powdered milk, they will be reconstituted into liquid before they can be sold. |

ckenneths: It is, the waterway has been tampered with all the way from the upstream, and now the main flow point is blocked too with an illegal fence.
People are crowding this area with so many buildings because of the location in the centre of the city. Something needs to be done fast before this problem affects the nearby Ebeano tunnel crossing. While Enugu state town planning authority looks the other way! |

obstead200: I read somewhere that a lot of sunlight is required to grow tomato properly There are varieties that are grown in cold climates, colder than anywhere in Nigeria and they still get their bumper harvest. The key is getting varieties that suits your climate. I was in a seed shop in Nairobi last week and saw hybrid seeds of cabbage which yields a head weight of 5kg and above but suitable only for areas with 15°C and below! Then another that yields around 4kg per head weight is suitable for 25°C -30°C; Getting seeds that do well in your location of cultivation is key. |
