TheSlyone2: Welcome to Nigeria where 1. We have a crippled economy: Dollar has gained weight over Naira. Regardless of how business minded you are, you will want to think twice before diving into a business in an unrealistic economy 2. Where power supply is crippled: Talk of being self reliance, then I'll tell you that advance nation such as China, USA and Germany who are the hub of technology has approximately 24hours power supply. If not of recent, we gone weeks without power.. 3. Cost of living : everyone taking about thinking outside the box, go into business and what I view. All this requires some sort of start up capital. Where would you get that from?
I live in Nairobi where l access 24 hours of power supply but l know how far when it comes to power issue in Nigeria. Even if dollar hits N700, l know with my knowledge, all l need is to lease about 6 plots of land near a river for a year in a rural community in Ogun State which l believe l can get for less than N50K (which is not up to what some spend on phones) and with an extra N150k and 4 months, I will be supplying about 12,000 heads of cabbage to the Lagos market, each not selling less than N200 as they will be weighing about 4kg.
I also know how to preserve them without electricity and still look freshly harvested when l finally get to sell them.
NaLaugh: Unfortunately, people find it easier to blame everyone and everything else for their failures, without looking in the mirror.
Some derive "comfort" from blaming others and that keeps them in the holes they find themselves. Even with the present economic situation, l have evolved past blaming others but rather focused on building on what is entirely within my influence because l have made up my mind not to get hypertensive over what is happening in Nigeria.
ihedioramma: you said well . people to school to acquire knowledge at the end they tell you he or she is looking for job for over five years now. i now what are they teaching in school ? .
Going to school is not just about acquiring certificates but the knowledge acquired being a trigger to view life from a broader perspective that makes one see himself/herself as a solution enabler.
Elkay3: OK, seen. I don't know any of them, hustling must go on...
That is the spirit as those being appointed no send anybody as many in the past have not even used their influence to attract development to their people as it is all about them and their immediate family!
Bifwoli: Get opportunity to mix with so many people from different parts of the world " ....you know i was surprised to see so many Senegalese resident in Kenya pleading with their president during the just concluded TICAD6 conference to intervene and make their stay and travel into kenya more of "an assured thing". I also didn't know there were Ivorians resident there too (but then again i'm rarely in kenya hence my being in the dark) "
Watched it at Dominic's place before it was even aired by WTV The system shown are ideal for homes. You need to sit down with this guy for 15mins, to realize "brain pass brain" as 5 Nairalanders l have facilitated visiting the place when they were in Nairobi can attest to. I remember him telling me there is someone in Nigeria who already have one of the systems.
"I have led a lot of inventions and innovations in Nigeria, for which I couldn’t find any support or funding. I initiated a lot of Startups. Some of them include: a pounded yam making machine that pounds two man-size meal in 20 seconds; conversion of Jatropha seed oil to make diesels; making of tiles from sawdust and used pure water sachets, among many others. But as you know, no one was ready to support. Nigerian society and multinationals only fund upcoming dancers, musicians, models and the likes".......Development is very far from us!
For the one for home use, it is a special quality of tarpaulin and pipes as seen in the pictures. It is installed within 4hrs and by the 7th day one can using gas from it to cook.
What looks like the greenhouse covering is used to make the digester warmer thus producing more gas and most especially to keep kids away before they turn the digester to bouncing castle!
Newway2: Yes. While turning d cassava peals into raw materials to generate BioGas is a fantastic idea, I rather think that d most profitable option is to turn it into animal feed as depicted in ds video. This is because, animal feed cost is going out of d roof 4 most animal farmers right now.
