What diags have you carried out ? e.g uninstalling and reinstallin in device manager, check if detected in my computer or computer

Uinstall ubutu and see if that solve it.

while checking that, do this. make sure volume not muted and not turn down also right click on your speaker icons on your desktop and tell me what it says mostly it will says no audio device installed or you have no speaker icons at all either them 2

Well I downloaded mine right from the internet on torrent and its the complete OS, and yes its going to be released in October if you need a copy I can burn it to DVD with 20 product keys and send it to you. I activated mine on the internet online on Microsoft website, I also helped Honsule to upgrade his Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 over the weekend.
