If you are looking for a certificate, then you have to look for some where that is more cheaper, but if you want to work for yourself, then study it by yourself. All you need is a good book and video. You will even learn more if you are studying by yourself.
WebmastersRe: Nairaland More Beneficial Than Facebook? by pdone: 12:51pm On Aug 31, 2012
@Poster I respect your view but if you ask me to analyze your post, I will say that 99.98 of what you said is incorrect. First you say 20% of Nigerians are on Nairaland? I guess you didn't calculate that 20% before putting it up. 20% of Nigeria population is more than 30million my friend. How many users that Nairaland has? As I was writing, it says "940025" users. According to http://www.indexmundi.com/nigeria/demographics_profile.html, Nigeria current population is 170,123,740. Now check the percent of 940027, it is 0.56% of Nigeria population. But wait a minute..., it seems that we are forgetting that majority of Nairaland users have multiple accounts due to spambot or any other reasons. Suppose that the average Nairaland users have two accounts, that bring the population to 0.28% of Nigeria population.

When you said people waste their time on facebook commenting on pictures, etc, you got it wrong. Although I visit Nairaland compare to facebook, but I must say that facebook is not all about comments and picture posting. You read current news on Facebook. Besides, you can find a more healthy relationship on Facebook compare to Nairaland. The owners of Nairaland encourages tribal war and insults because it fetch them more traffic/revenue. Show me a thread in Nairaland that has more than 3 pages and I will show you a thread full of insults and tribal war. Moreover, for business owners, Facebook can boost their income more than Nairaland. Nairaland ban you easily when you try to market your product or website. The owners/Moderators of Nairaland can ban you even when your post doesnt' violate their rules.

Like I said earlier, I am not a facebook fan but in terms of beneficial, I give it to facebook.

I thought Nairaland also serve as an education area where one can learn from each other. Can someone tell me when it was politically hijacked?

Someone was condemning Nigeria government for allowing social media like facebook, which the poster conclude that because of this there has been mass failure in school exams in Nigeria. Moreover, he mention that China block it and it has helped their education. I corrected the posted by mentioning the reason China banned facebook which has nothing to do with education but rather political/business motivated.

Within few minutes, I cannot found my post again(not even hidden). I was also amazed that the poster's post has also been deleted.

My question is, "Are the Owners of Nairaland afraid of their site getting ban in China?
WebmastersSeun Is This An Error? by pdone(op): 2:30pm On Aug 25, 2012
I replied to a post here https://www.nairaland.com/1028196/10-things-shouldnt-say-outside-nigeria/2 and within some few minutes, my post disappear(not hidden) together with the post of the person I quoted.

The problem is that on my "Followed Topics", the thread is there.

My question is, since my post has been deleted/disappear(For God Knows What), why should the thread appear on the list of my "Followed Topics"? It is script issue or what?

norrisman: This is bloody propaganda! Most of these athletes have visas until November so why is the f*$king BNP Eurospork News claiming the athletes have gone missing? These people are adults and do not need to have their movements monitored. I can recall seeing Bradley Wiggins on holiday in France while the Games was still ongoing. This obviously meant he wasnt in the athletes village, why didnt Eurosporks news report him as missing? I also saw a bunch of Korean athletes on a tourist walkabout in central London yesterday, why havent they been reported missing?

All you morons saying Europe is hard, tax will kill you blah blah blah need to STFU! Where in the f&%king world is easy?! Stop taking out your own European/American sojourn frustrations out on the pages of Nairaland!
Thank you my brother. From the comments so far, it seems that you are the only person that think out of the box. Nairaland is full of fake stories and people jump to conclusion without even asking some questions regarding the story. Some folks waits eager for bad news so that they can their black man this, africa that, Nigeria this, even when there is nothing to prove the story.

Is there any website one can buy mtn recharge card that has the following features.

As a user, I would be able to save the mtn recharge pin online their website. For example, suppose I purchase 20 mtn recharge pins, there will be a section on the website where I can log in and see the pin numbers of the card I purchase. I can be able to maintain the pin history i.e deleting/marked the numbers that I have used and keeping the ones that I haven't use.

Quote from Davidylan

that makes as much sense as claiming you are serious about passing WAEC but have no interest in reading recommended textbooks. You cant "respect" God while refusing to have anything to do with His book.

So what you are trying to say is that most guys from India, China, that don't believe in God have no salvation. So a man cannot not make it to heaven when he doesn't believe in God despite his good deeds.?
Christianity EtcRe: I Have Lost Interest In The Bible by pdone(op): 2:48pm On Jul 11, 2012
davidylan: huh? undecided

Why would Zuckerberg doubt the source of his money? He set up a very successful business.

Sorry no one thinks negative of the rich, a christian family friend is very very wealthy and made it legitimately. Everyone respects him and seeks his advice out. No one of us criticizes him or thinks of him in a negative light, infact many of us work hard so we can maximize our own opportunities to earn money like he did. So exactly what are you saying?
You are a good christian right? When didn't you speak for me when people are rebuking me of being greed?
Anyway what difference does it make if I respect my God and acknowledge Him but seem to have lost interest in the bible because of too many contradictions in it. If you have two teachers, one told you the highest mountain in the world is mountain Everest while the other says it is Zuma Rock, how would you fill?

Anyway, the bible made us to understand that there is good and evil and the Golden Rule is Treat Your Neigbour You Would Like Them To Treat You.

I understand and respect that law far better than I understand the religious war between Christians and Fellow Christians.

musKeeto: All religious bigots are ignoring the fact the OP said :IN A GENUINE WAY..

Sadly, these are the same nincompoops who see nothing wrong with Men of God owning private jets and living extravagant lifestyles....

May the Jesus you worship save you from hypocrisy and bigotry..

That is the problem with some brothers/sisters here. I said in a genuine way yet they ignore it in other to justified their reasoning.

They called me a greed man yet they always disturb God asking a better business success.
They called me a greed man yet they they complain for the situation of Nigeria.
They called me a greed man yet they are not willing to give all their money to the poor and live on a penny.
They called me a greed man yet when they see a guy of 25years that worth 50million, they will conclude that he belongs to one occult or another which left me wondering if they really believe in the miracle they preach.
They called me a greed man yet they are willing to give front seat to the man who donated most in their churches.
They called me a greed man yet they run to the rich when the church needs help.
They called me a greed man and they will be the first to call me a stingy man if I refuses to donate to the church.

If I may ask the religious here, is there a limited version of miracle or blessing? Why do you refer to me as Greed Man and Yet Acknowledge God's wealth to Solomon.

There is a big difference between loving wealth and leaving for wealth.

Like I said earlier, I am in peace with my God. For people who said that the life of another man cannot change the life of you, please tell you that you are kidding.

davidylan: Again daft for the following reasons...

1. If the OP was interested in getting wealth in a genuine way then how did the bible prevent him from doing so? Did the bible tell him not to go to school, work hard, work on setting up a business, look into stock options, seek out government contracts e.t.c?

2. You would notice that the most prominent christian posters here are the most antagonistic towards MOGs with odious wealth so your claim above is false and dishonest.
Be sincere with yourself. If Mark (Facebook owner) is a Nigerian, I can bet you will doubt the source of his money. Remember he is not up to 30 and yet he has more than 120billion naira.

There are many rich people in the world who earn their money in a good way and use it in a good way. You guys should not be thinking negative.

The bible encourage me to work hard and yet when I work hard to earn more for the love of mankind, you guys are quick to criticize me.

@Jordan
When I read bible enjoy what I read. I marvel at God's power. I do not read it as a story book or fairy tale books. I read it as a Holy Book. I still say my prayers. I still acknowledge God as ONE AND ONLY. As for going for counseling, I believe no one can change your behaviour except you.

@Buzugee

When I said I lost in interest in Bible, I do not mean that I lost interest in God. Besides, is there anything wrong with being rich. If you claim that riches of the world is evil, why do you still complain about the bad state of Nigeria. Don't you want to suffer until you make it to heaven.

Without money, the missionaries won't have come so far.
Christianity EtcI Have Lost Interest In The Bible by pdone(op): 7:10am On Jul 10, 2012
I was born and raised in a strong religious family. I used to go to the church everyday and each time I spent about 1-2 hours praying or meditating. The bible became my most favourite book and each time I read it, I was so fascinated that I sometimes I spent about 3-4 hours reading it. The stories, the miracles, the words, the wisdoms, the songs, all got me hooked. The more I read, the more thirsty I become. It is just like water found in the desert by a lost traveller.

But gradually things starts to fall apart. Some of the words doesn't seem to appeal to me anymore. Sometimes it seems to me like a book that block your way or hidden you from exploring or reaching your limit or desire in life.

I have to make something clear. "I LIKE RICHES AND I LIKE IT WHEN HIT IN A GENIUE WAY". Some words in the bible even encourage the poor and tell them that their reward will be in heaven. To me it seems that it encourage people to be somehow lazy and not using their brain power. Inability to ask question for the fear of unknown.

Even our pastors, reverends, evans, etc don't help matters. They also seem to encourage laziness and sometimes flag being reach as a bad thing. They don't encourage the youth the importance of hardwork and wealth. In Nigeria if you are many people believe that if you have more than 30 million, you must belong to one occult or another. How can someone in this age of time, still thing like that.? These are the same people who believe in miracle!!!!!!!!

I believe the hard work brings wealth and wealth brings happiness and comfort. For these reasons, I channel my reading to motivational books, stories, videos, etc.I became so interested in the life of past rich people and those that have change the history in one way or the other. Maybe through their breakthrough, riches,Bravely Act,etc . I have not open my bible for some years now. I think everyone knows what is good and what is bad.

Please folks am I on the wrong track? Is anything wrong with the way I am reasoning? Is there any suggestion you have.

@Poster,

I recommend that you read this book "Confession of Economic Hitman". After reading the book, you will start to understand why Nigeria is at the state of it is now. How Shell, Chevron, and other International Companies has contributed in destroying Nigeria. You will also asked yourself how much did people like Abacha, Babaginda, OBJ, and other formal leaders of the country has betrayed most of Nigerians and forced them into a bad habit. You will understand how frustration can push a person beyond his elastic limit.

So to answer your question, you can put 60% blame on corrupt corporations, 35% blame on our past and present leaders, and 5% on the citizens.

Nice piece.

I add would education as one of the major causes of employment.

I don't think this is restricted to the Igbos alone; its a general Nigerian problem.
The issue of education is also important. For example for people believe that juju or babalawo can make them become rich. You will start asking yourself what happen to their brain or don't they have one. I watch the video of how some Liberians drink blood and eat the heart of their enemy because they believe that by doing that they will become invisible to attack. Many of us read saw the videos and were laughing at them. But is it not what is happening when someone believe in all this gods, juju, babalawo.

Some brains need an update l swell.

You need to secure a land first before securing a bed because if you secure a bed first, you might not have the priviledge to secure a land. And where will you lay your bed to sleep.

Having online shop is not the issue but receiving your payment. How do you want the customers to pay? Going to bank is some stress to some people.

Since you are not the administrator or the super user, you don't have the priviledge to delete your post. So the simplest way to go about it is to log into your account and go to the post that you want to delete. Click on modify, then change what you have posted. Don't forget to change the subject as well.
For e.g, If the subject is "By a car", you can simply change it to "Case close" or anything. Then change the body content and click on "Reply(Click Once, Then Wait)"
PoliticsWhy Many Nigerians Will Still Remain Unemployed by pdone(op): 3:18pm On Nov 16, 2010
The issue of unemployment in Nigeria is growing day by day. Some said it is the fault of government, others blame it on poor management of the economy, which ever one you chose you might not be far from the truth. If you ask my opinion, I will say that the two main issues are; poor management and the lack of vision/insight.

By poor management, I am referring to the issue of lack of electricity and bad transportation. Many foreign investors won't consider Nigeria because of the electricity and transportation problem we are facing today. Any country that wants to compete in today's market know the important of electricity and good transportation system. If the government can provided electricity for the citizens, I strongly believe that a lot of people both young and old will be eager to do something meaning with their life. Life in Nigeria would have been a lot easy and cheaper if only the politicians can for once know the true meaning of being a leader. People always say that things are cheap in China but comparing products price of China and Nigeria is the same as comparing the products price of USA and China. One yuan(chinese currency) is almost 25naira. Why do they mention China as being cheap and not Nigeria?

I have asked myself over and over again why Nigeria has been suffering from power failure for more than 50years now. I have come to the conclusion that the reasons might be one of the following; our government might think that by providing a constant electricity to its citizen, they will lose a lot of money made from individuals using generator; the second reason might be that most foreign companies that produces generators might have a hand in what is happening to us today. It seems to me that most of their revenue comes from countries in Africa. Imagine if there is constant electricity today, don't you think that they will run out of business; the third reason might be that people selling those generators in Nigeria might have a hand in our problem by bribing the government. I may be wrong or right.

Taking a look at lack of vision/insight, I'm referring to people that have the money but they lack vision. In Nigeria today, some guys have more than 200m but doesn't know what to do with the money. Their vision are limited. They only know three things; buy a car, build a house, have children. I once over heard two friends talking. One was telling the other how a friend of his wants to give him the sum of 100m to do buying and selling business for him. The guy that wants to give him that money works in an office. He doesn't know what do with the money.

There is one funny thing that I have noticed about the Igbos. They are the most influential people in Nigeria but their power of insight/vision or investment is so limited. Most think in a linear way; first built a house in his village; second build a house in township; and third get a wife. Once you can achieved these things, then you are a really man. Go to Abuja, they own a lot of buildings, the same in Lagos, and Eastern part. Let's take the East as an example, the number of two-three-four storey buildings in Onitsha alone is great than the same building in Abuja. But only God knows the number of good hotel, entertainment centers they have there. I wonder if it is up to 10. If only the Igbos can channel the zeal they have for business to other business sectors, there will be a lot of jobs for youths.

As long as there is no constant electricity and good transportation, and the Igbos still focus on one type of business, jobs in Nigeria will still be limited.
