PrideofLincoln1:I think it’s actually between Sally Yates and Lisa Monaco. Definitely Yates is qualified for the position. But, personally, I’d prefer Monaco only because she won’t have any baggage from Trump’s controversies and the accompanying Russia investigation. |
PrideofLincoln1:I think that was a ruling from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court |
BREAKING! Biden has picked Janet Yellen to be his Treasury Secretary. If confirmed, she will be the first woman to hold the position |
As the race to be Biden’s AG is between Sally Yates and Lisa Monaco, it’s now guaranteed that women will occupy 3 of the first four cabinet positions (AG, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Defense, while Blinken takes the SOS post) |
Anyway, Biden has honed in on Tony Blinken as his SOS pick, so it’s likely that Susan Rice May after all be offered a West Wing position |
AmazonTopaz:The thing is that it is not 100% certain that McConnell will remain majority leader after January 6 because the Senate could end up in a 50-50 split, especially if the GOP turnout in the Georgia runoffs plummet way below the general election levels. So, the chances of a Susan Rice confirmation in a 50-50 senate is like 120%, when you consider the fact that it would be VP Harris that would cast any potential tie-breaking vote |
AmazonTopaz:She’s controversial because she once criticized the Obama administration for not using enough military force in Syria, and she’s not in favor of pulling out US forces from Afghanistan and Iraq |
From Parler ![]() “DO NOT VOTE IN THE GEORGIA RUNOFFS, THE DEEP STATE WILL BE COLLECTING EVERYONE'S INFO. THIS IS A CHARADE, MEANT TO IDENTIFY PEOPLE WHO DON'T VOTE DEMOCRAT," Mitch McConnell will not like this at all ![]() https://www.newsweek.com/georgia-trump-supporters-destroy-gop-boycott-senate-runoffs-1549245?fbclid=IwAR1qPaIQEfGov2qVCgiu_GvhZDRfgXeyT_hsQl9HmbidR4jxwLHjESSTupo |
If PA and MI certify their results tomorrow, any appeal from Trump’s lawyers, alleging “fraud” or some other irregularity, could be deemed moot by either the Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court |
Timiofak:Correct |
Timiofak:Yes, if there is a split decision among the court of appeals, the US Supreme Court may then decide to her a case. Also, if the case is decided against either party at the court of appeals (without a conflicting ruling in another circuit) the US Supreme Court could hear it. A minimum of four Supreme Court justices have to approve to hear the case before the full SC hears it |
motayoayinde:I forgot the moniker |

You can appeal a normal case for a multitude of reasons, simple legal error, ineffective counsel, improper instructions etc. when a case is dismissed with prejudice, the rules regarding an appeal are much stricter. If you have the same garbage evidence that a judge dismissed the first time, an appeals court WILL NOT even take it up. LordReed: |

I thought this post, on another NL thread, was just too brilliant to not share! “Trumps failures is a topic for another day. I wouldn't say Obama was friendly to islamists militants by any proportion.. Most of the damage to ISIS was done by Obama under the Operation Inherent Resolve. Whilst we can't refuse Trump finished the job when he took over, the damage to ISIS had already been done before 2017. With Alaqeda defeated, can Obama take all the accolades cos he killed Bin Laden.? No, much of the credit goes to Bush as well. By late 2016 ISIS had lost 62% of its land in Iraq having at the peak of its influence in 2014 captured 40% of Iraqi land mass. By late 2016 it had shrunk to just 10%. By 2016 the had lost 40% of their seized land in Syria. Before Trump took over, ISIS had been stretched to its limit and compromised at all fronts. Trump eventualy gave them the fatal blow. That Obama killed Osama can't have him take all the credit for defeating Alaqaeda. You might not have noticed but I am a Cameroonian who has been on nairaland for over 13 years. I followed the 2015 election results all night having been totally disgruntled with the Goodluck's regime inability to fight insecurity and corruption. The Chibok girls and how cluelessly he handled it brought me tears. Despite the oil windfall of the Goodluck administration his biggest achievenent was corrupton and embezzlement by those around him. Obama didnt sit in Buhari. The Nigerian population did, with a vote difference of over 3 million. Don't be an Orubebe over this. Hahaha Goodluck was very weak as a president hence the inroads by boko haram. I refuse to agree Nigerian was run down by BH cos Obama refused to sell weapons to Nigeria. The many abuses by the Nigerian army on innocent civilians, well documented by Amnesty International dented the army's reputation. Killing of innocent civilians was easier than BH. That said the Nigerian army had enough weaponary from other sources to defeat BH. As much as you might hate Buhari the broader hardship of his government has been as a result of the fall of oil price a commodity Nigeria totally depends on for hard currency. You do know very well had GEJ been given another tenure Nigeria would have vanished from the surface of the universe by now. Every American president has been enpowered to clip the wings of extremists around the globe. America is built on certain principles that only Trump has compromised. As much as the US government makes plenty of billions from the sales of military hardwares the are quick to restrict to sell if those arms stand to he abused. During the Obama presidency even Saudi Arabia was refused certain grade of weapons as sanctions for hunan right abuses. Had the killing of the Saudi journalist (Kashogi) in Turkey taken place under Obama, the Saudi Prince would have been sanctioned without prejudice. Despite the huge anount of evidence Trump protected him even bragging he saved his ass. I totally stand against Muslim extremist but not against Muslims. The two must be differentiated. Trump didnt know where to draw the line. He targeted Muslims all over the world ujustly not because he is a christian or prefers christians. He did because he wanted to please his base of supporters. It was always about TRUMP. His divisive politics brought him to power and also took him out early. In a couple of months he will be nothing. Whilst most ex presidents go on to live a very quiet life, he will be caught up in court cases that will last for decades.” |
jornwhite:I agree with the bolded. If a guy’s Social media profile pic depicts him as someone staying abroad or as a man with money, MANY women will be in his DM @cococandy |
Can Tambuwal defeat any of Umahi/Orji Kalu/Okorocha in the general election? Maybe. What I know is the northern-Muslim political establishment/oligarchy would all back the Tambuwal-Wike ticket because power, to the northern establishment, must be retained regardless of party affiliation. |
Chai!! If CFC didn’t drop points vs Southampton, we would be tipping the table. I’m looking at you Kepa ![]() |
flyingpig:Don’t forget that Gov. Wike would be interested in the PDP ticket. Umahi left because they was NO way he would have beaten Wike to the PDP ticket |
feedthenation:I’m happy that vaccines have been developed.. But isn’t this an admission that Trump knew, as far back as mid January, that COVID-19 was deadlier than the flu, which needed a special vaccine? |
As it’s looking increasingly like both the APC and the PDP will zone their respective presidential tickets to the south, who do you think will clinch the tickets and why? |
It took Lo Celso only 35 seconds to score |
BlueAngel444:Wow What a stat! |
ono:Assuming the reporting is wholly accurate, law enforcement should thoroughly investigate the threats against her |
If Spurs win, a Mourinho side will top the table for the first time since...2015 when he coached CFC to the league title |
LordReed:The clock is against her cos December 8 (deadline for states to certify the votes) and December 14 (meeting day for the Electoral college across the states and DC) are fast approaching. However, in whatever suits she is bringing, she could also make a “good faith” argument that the statutory laws which set the December deadlines may deny her client either equal protection or due process of law. |
basilico:As for the bolded portion, the election authorities in Pennsylvania were ALREADY segregating the ballots that arrived after 8pm on Election Day. And those ballots were NOT added to the current vote totals in the state. Even if they were added, those ballots won’t dent Biden’s lead in the state. With regard to your other point on the certification of Georgia’s votes coming with a “caveat”, you couldn’t be more factually wrong. As long as the votes are certified, any extemporaneous speech by the Governor or some other state official is basically meaningless. Yes, Governor Kemp, being a supporter of Trump, has the right to express his sadness on Trump’s loss; but so long as the results are certified, NO court will create a “expressed doubt” exception to the existing election rules. |
Congrats to the couple! Their union goes to show that most women on social media, who say “I can’t marry a younger man”, would change their tune once a man with influence and/or money is involved ![]() |
PrideofLincoln1:Man, it will be a breathe of fresh air to not have DJT at the White House from that day. |
As you’re speculating on who will contest in 2023, remember to register to vote as from January next year (if you are not already registered voter) |
Timiofak:Haha The most-delusional ones are on GatewayPunditv ![]() Those ones basically kiss Trump’s ass 24/7 |
