Atiku made the biggest blunder of his political career by not supporting Ekwueme for President in 2003.. At the time, Ekwueme promised to make Atiku his running mate and hand over to Atiku in 2007. But after initially ‘threatening’ to run against OBJ, Atiku decided at the last minute to back OBJ (after OBJ had to beg and beg for his support).
Not knowing that a retired General really never forgets any humiliating encounter, Atiku naively thought that OBJ would let bygones be bygones. But OBJ ended up basically ending Atiku’s career by 2006/2007.
If Atiku had backed Ekwueme to the end, he would have been president from 2007-2015. |

Obrigardo: The supreme court will issue it's Immunity decision this month and IMO it's certainly going to be bad for criminal trump in any way.
I've followed every bit of the crimes he committed since he started raising voting conspiracies in 2017 and one thing is clear that there are a handful of non official acts he did that is in the criminal indictment.
And Scotus are going to allow those parts to go back to Judge Chutkan.
They may somehow eke out an Immunity shit storm like criminal trump trying to make now-indicted Jeff Clark AG is protected by Immunity but that doesn't even matter in DOJ's case.
I doubt this Scotus will go rogue.
So I'm hopeful of the downfall of this criminal traitor criminal trump and his little loudy cult diminished in the coming months and years. Amen.
Great analysis that shows three certainties possibly in this Universe of ours. https://www.justsecurity.org/95568/what-happens-after-supreme-court-rejects-trumps-absolute-immunity-mapping-3-scenarios/ I predict the Court will hold that sitting Presidents aren’t immune from criminal liability for actions that fall outside the official purview of their office. |

Marjoribanks: All our relay teams qualified yesterday except the female 4by400 who did not participate cos they are 12th placed in the World. The 12th position placed them in a comfortable position to qualify except something out of the ordinary happens. lol We broke the 4by400 mixed relay African Record! I’m confident that our women’s 4x400m relay team would clinch Olympic qualification at the African Athletics Championships in June |

Nigeria’s 4x100m (men and women), men’s 4x400m, and the mixed 4x400 relay teams qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics, by virtue of their performances at the just concluded Bahamas World Athletic Relays.

raumdeuter: Pdpguy what do you think about pro Palestinian protests all over US campuses for the past 3weeks including blocking of roads
Iran China Russia that some of these students weave fantasy about won't even allow such. In Russia many of the protesters would be shipped to warfront, in China it will be another Tienamem square
But you have in America students following police to drag physically I agree that the students have a limited right to protest (because the 1st amendment does not apply to private institutions such as Columbia, Stanford etc). But obviously, those students do not have the effrontery and right to be dragging campus police officers or unnecessarily disrupting the general business of their schools. Thats where I am with the school authorities in their efforts to quash the violent protests |

oliverano: Two farmers league getting the 5th spot while the real league getting 4. Interesting! We have to blame Mbappe and Dembele for hitting the post, yesterday, vs Dortmund. That Dortmund win propelled Germany to the 5th slot. Moreover, Newcastle and Man Utd’s exits at the UCL group stage, coupled with the progress of Italian teams in the other UEFA club competitions, may have also contributed to Serie A gaining a 5th UCL spot. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by PDPGuy: 10:56pm On May 01, 2024 |
Meanwhile, the 5th UCL spot will go to both the Bundesliga and Serie A.
The EPL loses out and will have its present allocation of 4 teams at next season’s UCL. |

Deltamani: BREAKING: U.S. Soccer and the Mexican Football Federation have withdrawn their joint bid for the 2027 Women's World Cup and will bid for the 2031 edition. That means 2027 will go to either Brazil or Belgium/Germany/Netherlands joint bid. From an economic/footballing culture standpoint , I think FIFA would go with the joint European bid. The fact that many stadia, used by Brazil for the 2014 men’s World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, are now white elephants and in various states of disrepair would likely cause FIFA’s Congress to deem the Euro bid as the “safer” option |

raumdeuter: Someone said with the AI intrusion into every sector we might need to revisit the idea of Universal Basic income
We thought its the physical labor that AI will first hit with robots but its looking like its the knowledge economy that is getting hit first. Cos all the jobs based on knowledge can be done by chatgpt with minimal human input
Thinking about it, the only people who wont be affected are owners of land based resources and real estate since thats what AI cannot create yet (New land) You’d be shocked when robots would be developed to construct homes and other buildings. The allure of the robots would chiefly be that they work much quicker and are more efficient than humans. Then once that happens, the construction industry would be hit with a recession |
