Business › Re: Why I Broke My WEMA Alat ATM Card And Stopped Going Cashless by Peachbloom(f): 11:36am On Jun 05, 2020 |
Shoodboi: I am so pissed off right now.
I wasn’t angry when I broke the card. I just wanted to make sure that:
i. I will not be able to use the card or account anymore.
ii. I will be forced to open a new regular bank account.
The Story (in brief)
I suffered a failed POS transaction yesterday.
I sent Wema ALAT a mail and they are yet to reply as of now (almost 24 hours later).
I called them this morning and listened to a recorded message about how my call may be delayed because of COVID-19. I quickly cut the call. Their customer wasn’t effective before the virus came along, so I wonder what to expect now.
I later visited their bank and the customer care rep told me the transaction will be reversed within 14 days, if they were sure that I was really unable to withdraw the money.
14 days? Why is this so?
The money doesn’t even belong to me and the owner is very angry with me right now. Someone sent it to her and she wanted to use someone else's account to receive it, but I convinced her to use me—and then this happened.
Worse, she needs it for feeding and I don't have any money to give her. (She wasn’t paying me for the service in case you’re wondering.)
I suffered the same thing in the hands of GTB. (Their regular customer service email complaints@gtbank.com isn't even working anymore.)
In fact, I opened a WEMA Alat account because of GTB’s failures. I thought Alat will be better since they marketed themselves as a “Digital Bank”, but it appears that I was wrong. They are “digital” in name only.
This should be the third or fourth time WEMA Alat is doing this sort of nonsense to me. And that is without counting the failed mobile and POS transfers.
I am actually not concerned about GTB’s and Wema’s failures. I just hate their terrible customer service. Failed transactions are one thing. I actually consider them normal. However, poor customer service and unwillingness to quickly solve failed online transactions aren’t. And this is unfortunately common with most banks and businesses in this country.
Now, I’ve have made the decision to stop going cashless. I will start moving around with cash henceforth. I’m sick and tired of all these failed POS transactions and sluggish customer service reps.
I know I will still do some online transactions but that will be occasionally (online shopping, international payments, etc.)
That said, I want you all to answer these two questions:
1. Which bank is reliable for online transactions?
2. Which bank has the most effective customer care service in this country?
I’m thinking of opening a Union bank account since I can see they have revamped their business, but I don't want to jump into conclusions as I did with Alat.
Could you all help me out?
P.S. Please UBA and Skye (if this one still exists) are out of the equation. I used them in the past and can confidently say they are terrible. They steal money.
I don’t want Access bank too. I’ve never read anything good about them. They and fraud are relatives. I don’t want Diamond bank either since they are the new owners of Access bank.
So, any suggestions? LOL. You seem to have a high level of temper issues from all your write ups. Now, for failed online transactions especially without proofs of the transaction, it takes 14 days for resolve to come by. This is not because of customer service issues, it has more to do with interswitch, and this is the minimal number of days for resolve. This really is more of an agreement between banks and interswitch and has nothing to do with the personnel. If you actually want respect, you have to show respect too. That's the first tip to interactions with people. My guess is, you neither have expressed patience or the right words in interacting with this personnel. Now to breaking your card?? Because you are angry... It tells alot. |

Emzenoz: yes thats what I mean. Some people were asked to wait behind today that they had issues and the rest of us can go home that we will hear from them. From what others said today at the test hall about when you are asked to wait behind means you were successful is getting me confused. If you were asked to wait behind, you were successful. |

CharlessO: Please can someone post their invitation mail or text message to write the Zenith bank recruitment exam? Hi. Don't think you can gate crash even with a mail or test invite o. Zenith has a data base/attendance sheet of each candidate invited. You wouldn't even be invited without your name correlating to your number. |

BS!
So on Sunday 10th November, I started feeling less fetal activities. I jumped round the house, picked my belly, but baby wasn't responding properly. I decided to put worries out of my chest and prepare adequately for my ICAN Exams.
However, Monday, I couldn't take it any longer, I out exams aside, and carried my bumbum to the hospital with my PA(DH) in tow. Quick quick, like play like joke, my consultant admitted me for fetal activities monitoring. He outrightly told me by evening, he will run a biophysical profile, non stress test, and an abdominal uss to monitor baby, and I should prepare my mind that no exams.
DH and I just yimu, then the scariness began, low AFI at 38 weeks, so baby cannot move well, non stress test showed baby stressed, bio physical and USS of fetus showed early placental insufficiency, and the emergency started.
I went ahead, wrote my exams, and on Thursday, went in for my surgery. My father who is a dokita too, went rambunctious, "she can deliver with induction, so why CS.?" me that I knew what I was going to do in my mind.
Immediately after my exams on Thursday, I turned off my cell phones, checked into the hospital, and got booked for elective CS. 4.38pm on the 14th of November, 2019, my son was born weighing 2.5kg!
After then, I called everyone that we have born o. My dad is still amazed as I speak.
I'm still in some bits of pain here and there, but our family is overjoyed at the arrival of this bundle, and the energy can be felt in the four walls of this hospital.
Thank you November Mamas and other mamas here too.
November Cappo take note, BS submitted.
I wish everyone safe delivery. |

hunniesuzie: PCV at every appointment?
Blood no go finish?
Didn't experience this in either pregnancy sha, maybe because there was no cause for concern LOL maybe. My first appointment I was 27%. Next 31% 30% 31% 33% 34% Im currently on 34% and this was as at 2 weeks ago. Although my clinic days are now weekly, I've only been checked just as at 2 weeks ago and not at my last ante clinic. I'm seriously fatigued, and I called my doctor again. I'll possibly be checked at my next appointment.. Again. Fatigue is my main problem. |

hunniesuzie: At your booking appointment it's one of the tests done along with HIV, Hepatitis and blood group. I strongly doubt it wasn't done except you didn't register at a proper hospital for antenatal. They probably didn't mention it cos your results were in normal range. PCV is packed cell volume and basically is an indication of red blood cell volume. As a mother to be, because you're supporting a foetus it's important your pcv is within healthy range Let me add to this. At every appointment, a Urinalysis, and pcv should /would have been done for you too. To check your urine for Glucose and protein, and also your blood level. |

But my doctor prescribed an amazing drug, and it's not an antacid. Omeprazole or something. Just complain to him, he will sort you out properly. The drug stopped the heartburn altogether. I mean I can eat anything from mild to spicy to pineapple sef. Just complain to him/her first. |

Honeysweetest: No one mocked anyone, plus am not faceless, nothing to hide about me. and there is nothing to scare me. Honeysweetest, you really need to calm down, and stop all these. I know you are a highly opinionated person, and I don't need anyone to tell me how you will be as an individual in person. It's not everyone, or every thing one replies to, and you seem to be on a binge of attack to everyone who asks you to take it easy. Truth be told, this forum is for preggies to support each other while we wait to birth our little ones, and support can come in several ways especially in advices. However if you feel a strong need to reprimand (which I really think is out of your line, and not in anyway anyone's business) anyone, then do it privately. Sometimes reprimanding/advising when you are not asked publicly asked really is not only absolutely rude, but also uncouth. Do you know how strong her mental health can take this? You could simply ask "Sis can I pm you?" and pick up a beautiful and rewarding and maybe loyal friendship from there. Contrary to what you think, you never can tell what doors speaking in love and not attacking persons with aggressive words can open. You need to please calm down. I beg you darling. I see what you do on this thread, you have a kind soul, please don't ruin it. |

jazzyjazz: Ehen it's called Obstetric Cholestisis (I dont know if this is what you have, but the symptoms you mentioned points to this sha. Again, I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE) My advice would be to seek a second opinion HI. The symptoms are not necessarily Obstetric cholestasis. Some reactions of pregnancy can also be itchy skin with absolutely nothing to worry about. Piriton does a very good job here. However, is your palm itchy? And the soles of your feet? |

https://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/heartburn-during-pregnancy.aspxThought to share this for mamas going through heartburn/acid reflux like me. God led me to a solution more in ripe pawpaw. I bought it cause I was craving pawpaw anyway I discovered I had a very good night sleep devoid of heartburn (except frequent urination ) after taking pawpaw as a dessert!.. Since then, pawpaw it is for my heartburn solution. I finally dumped gascol, gestid, gelusil (which absolutely never worked for me till I discovered pawpaw ). Any mama willing to try can do so too, if you would not mind. Happy Bumping. |

musabayokanu: Becareful the advice you take from people. From all these you have posted, and from your replies to me, I see that you are a man who will like to eat your cake and have it! Roles reversed, can you take half of what I stated happened to the lady? No, you can't. I don't subscribe to staying when things are abusive. Many women have lost their lives. I also don't subscribe to divorces either, which is why I tell the people involved, what is your heart telling you to do? Whatever it is, you will be fine. Marriages aren't rosy agreed. However, some are from the deeper pits of hell, so why stay when you can't go on. In this lady's case, the following were quite obtainable (kindly note that this is with medical proofs) : Physical torture and abuse. Emotional bullying. His family also started bullying her family (which I am a part of) She was made to quit 2 jobs in the space of one and a half years all in the name of "why is your wife richer than you." by his family. Who doesn't pray that his or her child be successful whether male or female?. He turned her into a shadow of herself. Through all these, she was loyal. Now things have got better you want to ruin it again?. Her new mother in law has been so so supportive and prayerful, and the backing is beyond what I expected. I am happy for her, but your comments are quite disturbing. |
