Dotar: I have bsc in psychology,.. please is it possible I do msc in nursing in the UK, get registered and work in the medical line?
Will be getting married to a Nigerian Brit this year and I'm relocating next year.. It is very possible to do Msc Pre-registration Adult or Mental Nurse in the UK from any field of study. What you will need to do before applying is either work as a Health care Assistant or Volunteer as one, doing this will increase your chances of getting admission. Congratulations on your Marriage. Please do note that Marriage in the West is different from what we have in Africa. Na Partnership west dey do nor be African i be head (male), you be tail(woman) |

This is not true. Normal IELTS Academic is used for both NMC UK Registeration and Visa. The UKVI IELTS for visa has been changed long ago. Nhimah1: Write IELTS UKVI So u would use a stone to kill two birds If u write normal IELTS for NMC application,u would eventually write UKVI own because it’s used for visa applications So just write UKVI own |

Going to Ireland as a midwife may be Better. Let her try Ireland route as getting sponsorship from NHS or UK Hospitals for Midwife is harder than getting for Registered General Nurse. Arhmiee: Hello everyone,
Please, does anyone know if NMC is actively recruiting midwives the way they are recruiting nurses from overseas.
A lady said she has writing the CBT and is now on the NMC register but when she applied for jobs, recruiters said they are not employing overseas midwives. I just want to be certain because a family member who is a midwife wants to apply but it is held back b because of what the lady said.
Please anyone with info about this should help me out. Thank you |

GMB is the best example of Tribal/Ethinic Bigot. In 1983/84, He voted for a Niger Republic Fulani man against an Igbo man for Ecowas abi AU secretary job. Do you remember GMB saying that an attack on Bokoharam is an attack on the North. How many Bandits/Fulani Herdsmen or Bokoharam has been Killed. Can we have the number?. Yes Fulani Herdsmen are causing all the havock across the country. Few weeks back they were arrested by our community Vigilantee and handed over to the police who released them immediately too. Basher8583: I have noticed one thing about you tribal bigots. You pick narratives that sooths you and hammer on it. Do you have any idea how many boko haram and bandits have been killed by NA. If they deploy half of what they deployed in the North to the SE you will start crying again that NA wants to wipe SE of the map.
No body is pamparing anyone.
And I have asked several times if truly fulani herdsmen are causing all these atrocities why is it so difficult to finish off a fulani herdsmen who are very slow due to thier cattle herding. But you can catch a fleeing robber and burn him to death.
Every intercommunial clash automatically becomes Fulani herdsmen crisis.
Every kidnap becomes fulani herdsmen kidnaps
Every death becomes fulani herdsmen kills.
Why are you all so desparate to tag everything evil to fulani herdsmen. Is it because IPOB was proscribed?
You guys are too weak and too emotional |

You are either evil or tending towards becoming one. Captured Bokoharam fighters were Reiintegrated in to the society, Nigerian Army and NPF, Bandits abi Gunmi boys are all well known yet no arrest or anything like that, Killer Herdsmen are on killing, raping and farm destruction rampage a cross the country yet GMB's Regime according to Garba Shehu has not arrested any of them, even Pastor Osibande said we should pray for them and kill IPOB members who has been asking for a Peaceful Referendum. The evil you do will continue to abide with you. thebosstrevor1: How are jihadists pampered.
The first leader of Bokoharam Mohammed yusuf, was killed by the police for his radicalism, till today the government are still killing boko haram members...no terrorists are pampered |

Let me also add my voice on this clarification something. Most of those restaurants owners that put something that one baba from Nigeria gave them are probably CHRISTIANS like the attend church service and read the BIBLE. Those fraudsters pays tithe and offering in CHURCH and receive Titles in Church too. The point is those Babalawos(Whatever it means are created and Patronize by Christians). (we can argue that the are not genuine Christians) But na different line of Argument be that. I am a Traditionalist i believe everything done whether good or bad have repercussions. But the Christian faith believes that what you call evil is evil and good good. This is why you see a lot of evil going on in Africa and by Africans today Because they were told that His Grace don clear every evil. It is wrong to talk down on people's beliefs system when you don't know the difference Peace Ilekokonit: Ok let me clarify my thinking.
There are Nigerian restaurants in London whose owners put stuff from one "baba" in Nigeria in the food they sell to innocent Nigerians as an acquaintance once walked in on a woman who owns a restaurant we used to go to when the woman was on the phone to the "baba" in Nigeria asking how much of the stuff "baba" gave her she should put into the soup she is selling to the public.
I heard of a woman who took her huge British telecom phone bill to a White Garment pastor for consultations and prayers so that BT will reduce or forget about the bill and there are White Garment pastors in London who pray for fraudsters so that they will not be caught and i know a Bros in London who before he got married sent the prospective babes photographs to his brother in Nigeria asking him to consult 5 Babalawo's, 5 Imams and 5 pastors for "prayers" to see which of the babes is his future wife and the same bros said he once went onto London bridge in the dead of the night to take a "recommended" spiritual bath washing himself from head to toe with water and the old Nigerian 5 kobo (called sisi) on top of London bridge in the dead of the night.
Some of the Naija women in Manchester when they fall out and start recording slander videos against one another also expose what some of them get up to in Manchester and there is one who accused her erstwhile friend who is a caterer of putting the food she is selling to order into her bath, stripping off all her clothes, stand in the bath over the food and washing her privates over the food before then cooking it and delivering the order to the Nigerian who ordered the food for his or her party. I don't know if this one is true but this is from a beef video they recorded when the fell out and the video is most likely still on Youtube but i can't remember which one it is now.
So, these are just some of the things I've seen and heard in London in my time here and you just never know if that so called friend (old ones or new ones) is putting stuff into your food or drink when you go visiting them and the best thing to do in such instances is to make such friends know that you don't subscribe to fetishness or consulting sooth sayers and in any case such friendships can not stand the test of time unless you also believe in consulting sooth sayers.
So, its the fetishness some Nigerians abroad indulge in that i am calling out. If you visit a lot of barber shops and Naija restaurants / beer parlours in areas of London densely populated with Nigerians, sit down and just spend some time listening to people, you will marvel at what some Nigerians in London get up to and all indications are that Nigerians in manchester and Ireland are probably worse than the ones in london.
I hear and see a lot of things as Nigerian restaurants and Beer Parlors used to be like a second home to me (and probably still is) as I've not cooked since I came back from Naija in 2008 and because I work very long hours and don't have my first meal until after work, I spend quite a lot of time in Nigerian Restaurants over the past 13 years and some of the things I've seen and heard about Nigerians in London is better left imagined and being that London never really used to be like this 20 something years ago, I'm always comparing and contrasting the Nigerians in London then versus some of the ones I meet now. |

This is a smart analysis. Thanks to all the ancestors here directing us on what/how to go about this our UK journey. Una doo. Please Sir/MA help a brother with a similar Analysis on Scotland. Na that side wifey mind dey. sgtponzihater1: First of all I would avoid London. Staying 2yrs in London and paying nearly half of my salary for rent and another fraction for bills, with no assistance, largely kept me out of this group for months. I lived from shift to shift and nearly got my back broken, only to get home to be reminded that food stuffs is running out, and cable was giving a resuscription warning. I couldn't cope for long. Despite sticking to Amazon prime, and using only charity shop, the permutations did not balance.
I got a job up North without discussing this prior and informed my family that they could stay back if they wanted. Obviously they ran along. I still pay these things but its a fraction of what I earn, so I don't mind at all. All my expenses is not up to the rent I paid in London despite increased wages
The Midlands would be a place to look at, places like Stoke on Trent, Sherwood forest, Black country, Lincoln etc are all cheap but run down areas compared to the big 4, there is also a flux of Nigerians there, with Nigerian pastors opening ministries too. Pay 10% of your income to these dudes is at your discretion, I guess most are hustlers on suits. On the borders of Manchester but still in the Midland is chesterfield a very nice place too.
If you move toward Manchester avoid the city centre. Areas like Boston, Preston, the Pennines etc, is like living in Mowe but claiming Lagos. These would probably be cheaper than living in Manchester.
The north of England have some very affordable places too. Ranging from places like Scunthorpe a near shot hole, to Bradford that is filled with Muslims and blacks, but are both affordable places to the very deprived Hull where Doctors are paid to train. Leeds, wakefield, Sheffield are all big cities from the Yorkshire point of view but are quite affordable. I would avoid York itself if it you want to save money. While it's beautiful, and heavenly to live in, its cost of living is close to London in some ways. There are other largely rural areas in Yorkshire, people own 2-3 horses here, and a lot of farm lands, things are pretty cheap and organic.
You can live in Newcastle, Sunderland, middlesborough and it's surrounding areas with a fraction of your income. Those areas though cheap are quite cold and you cold end up being impregnated by your husband every year in a bid to cure cold, and end up with more child care bills.
I could write about Essex, but I found Chelmsford expensive but beautiful to stay in.
Lastly let the one true guide lead you to were you will find comfort and peace
But I would avoid London, Cambridge, oxford or the other big 4 as a rule of thumb |

Tinyemeka: Na porting tins.
Most Nigerian nurses I know personally who've recently moved to practice in the UK are just marking time to port over to the US. Or are waiting to accumulate sufficient CRS scores to move to Canada.
A fresh BSN graduate in the UK NHS starts on Band 5 (usually). £25,900 - 30,600.
Meanwhile see what Glassdoor says a Registered nurse in Alberta Health services earns...
P.S. I stand to be corrected o and would welcome any comment with factual counter opinion. Na browse I browse am. I'm not even a nurse. Make we use T2 enter UK fes fes. Collect ILR/Citizenship na 7yrs plan be that, then port to Canada and also collect their Citizenship. But make we just commot legally fes. Efri other thing will sort itself out. I come in peace. BTW the information here is top notch. You are all doing well Oooin. |

I am a registered Nurse Midwife in Nigeria. I have a few questions
1. I'd love to know if your facility assist foreign trained basic midwives who have passed IELTS exam and CBT test to secure jobs as pre-registered midwives in the UK?
2. If it doesn't, do you know of any agency that supports and recruits pre-registered midwives pending OSCE?
3. Most agencies seem to sponsor and recruit general nurses. Any idea on how to link with basic midwives' sponsors?
4. Where basic midwives find it difficult to be sponsored, can I apply for sponsorship as a general nurse using my 18months qualification in general nursing?
5. Will I be considered as a pre-registered nurse (having only 18months post basic nursing)?
6. Finally, kind drop your email address or send me mail using goch4sweet@gmail.com
Thanks. You should try IRELAND. The have opportunity for midwives. |

The exams are written in Nigeria and cost less than 500k. You can join her or you go together. You should read the thread of the UK nurse migrants on NL. As for the exams, she has registered OET which is useful for UK and Ireland Nursing Board Registration, we are currently on UK process But I have heard so many good things about Ireland and my enquiry was to know if Ireland is better for us interms of Training Children and over all life things.
