One of the reasons why Abraham was asked to put away the mother of Ishmael was because Abraham didn't legally marry the lady before putting her in a family way, but when a man marries women ritefully, he's is their husband. And been born again doesn't change it. He needs to live a life of Christ by avoiding sin and living for Christ and not thinking of divorcing those women at the expense of his first wife. Cos doing that will confine those women to hardships and other negativities.

for ur ifo, Jesus was addressing the issue of devorce and not polygamy in ur so called bible reference.

The bible has never explicitly mentioned that God is against Polygamy, after all in ancient times many great men of God had multiple wives and God still acknowledged them as righteous.

Also quoting Matthew 19 vs 9 is a misnomer because for starters the MAN did not put away any of his wives, he remained married to them.

What we do know is that God is explicitly against Adultery, i.e sleeping with another man's wife or vice versa and general sexual immorality.

So here is my take, if a man is married to 4 wives and has children with all of them, even when he comes to a knowledge of Christ, there is no biblical verse or command which suggests he should chase 3 wives away and remain with one wife . He should remain with his 4 wives and take care of his children while bringing them to a knowledge of truth.

Check out his past givings to the poor, not that the poor will always be among you. let him extend to those that people thinks they are rich because of the rich role they play but indeed below average.

My sister has been married to him for about 2years now and they have a beautiful baby.

According to my sister " He came back home this morning (1am) drenched in alcohol. His first complain was that my sister didn't come out to open the gate for him quick enough. She apologised and said she slept off waiting for him to come back. On entering the room she discovered as he was pulling off, that his boxers were "inside out". She asked him why that was as she saw him dress before he left him the previous day and that he was dressed correctly. She then told him that if he is playing any games outside he should always use protection so as not to infect her with STI. That was when he started beating and slapping her. She was crying as she was telling me this morning.

I calmed her down and told her to read her bible as she was already talking about having her own pound of flesh back. I also told her that whenever he comes home drunk she should do everything he asks to avoid further confrontations and wait till his head is "correct" before talking with him.

My problem now is that, how do I confront the man as I intend going to their house later on today. My major problem is that he should not lay his hands on my sister again coz that's what gonna make be go ballistic and nuclear simultaneously.

The Church requires only witnesses who are married in the church and are receiving the holy communion. The registry requires only witnesses who are of sound mind and of age.

Nigeria's religious system says God dictates everything including the day and way a man dies. The government is following that belief religiously so it's useless to fix the roads since God will still kill when He wants.

That's the general idea among religious Africans all over the world. That's why we are at the dregs of development.
