PoliticsLG Poll: LASIEC Dealing With Salvador Illegal - Adewale, Lagos PDP Chairman by Penaldo(op): 8:39pm On May 08, 2017
Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos State, Otunba Segun Adewale has alleged a grand plan involving Mr. Moshood Salvador, leader of the Markafi’s illegal faction in Lagos to frustrate the Party’s victory at the forthcoming Local Government polls in Lagos. He also insisted that any dealing between LASIEC and Salvador group is illegal and a total disregard of the Party's constitution.

In a statement today in Lagos, Adewale said Salvador and his group have made over 12 million Naira from the sale of illegal nomination forms to unsuspecting aspirants buying into their lies of being the Party representatives in Lagos. "Salvador is only acting the script of Chief Bode George who singularly proclaimed him Chairman without the authority of the National organs of the Party nor the endorsement of majority of our members in Lagos".

Adewale challenged Salvador to show the world a letter or certificate from the National working committee of the PDP authorizing him to function in the office of the Party Chairman in Lagos. "We can no longer allow this illegality to continue unchallenged. We have therefore petitioned the Police, DSS and all relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone impersonating the PDP and those dealing with the impostors in Lagos State." He stated.

The Chairman lamented that every attempt made by his executives to reconcile with members of the Markafi’s group towards the Local Government election was frustrated by Salvador. "Salvador is simply seeking personal agenda at the detriment of the Party. They are covertly working to ensure the victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Local Government polls, while defrauding our members of funds needed to prosecute a successful election".

In citing the Party's constitution, the chairman advised aspirants who had fallen into Salvador’s schemes to retrieve their money from him by employing all legal means. "Salvador has no authority whatsoever to present any candidate to LASIEC at the polls. According to section 50. (1) of the PDP constitution, the National  Executive Committee of the Party is the only organ saddled with the authority of nominating candidates to INEC or any other authority  to  whom it may concern for election into any public office in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the electoral acts."

Adewale wondered why some staff members of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission ( LASIEC) have continued dealing with Salvador in total disregard of the PDP constitution and a letter from the National Executive Committee disowning Salvador's illegal committee. "Any further dealings with Salvador by LASIEC staff will be viewed as an attempt to rig the polls in favour of the APC.

"We are fully aware of a grand plan by the ruling APC to distract us using Salvador and a few greedy elements while they again impose their stooge at the grassroots. We will resist every such collaborations using all available legal means at our disposal."

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal siting in Port Harcourt had ruled in favour of Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic National Chairman of the party under whose authority Otunba Segun Adewale and his executives operate in Lagos State.

PoliticsWhy We Are Working For Segun Adewale (areoland) To Become Ekiti Gov - Lawyer by Penaldo(op): 5:45pm On May 04, 2017
-Says Fayose’s Govt Has Left The Business Of The State Unattended-To

Adigun Bankole Collins is a Lagos-based legal practitioner and a passionate indigene of Ekti State. He is a key member of Otunba Segun Adewale Foundation, the group working for the realisation of the Governorship ambition of Lagos-based businessman, Segun Adewale (Areoland). In this interview with TOPE AILERU, the vibrant lawyer reveals the reason behind his choice to support Aeroland’s ambition to succeed Mr. Ayodele Fayose as the next Governor of Ekiti State.

Tell us briefly about yourself, at least for those who don’t you..

I am Adigun Bankole Collins, a native of Ado Ekiti, in Ekiti state. I am a legal Practitioner and an activist. I had both my Primary and secondary education in Ekiti, while I obtain my Law degree from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma. I am practicing with offices in Ekiti and Lagos with over 10 years at the bar. I am over 40 years. I am the National Legal Adviser of the Renaissance Progressive Initiative, and a member of different socio-political groups bothering on Ekiti progress.

What is your own reading of the current political situation in Ekiti State?

Well, the present political situation in Ekiti is a very unfortunate one to be sincere. Why I said it is unfortunate is because the rate of hunger in the land is so alarming and unbecoming of a state known for agriculture. The present Government led by Fayose seems to be clueless in governing the state, thus he prefers to politicise the welfare of d people of Ekiti by sharing bowls of rice with N200 under the camouflage of stomach infrastructure program.

While the civil servants are languishing in hunger due to non payment of their salaries and arrears over months, the present administration is busy doing jamboree up and down; attending to activities outside the state, leaving serious businesses of the state unattended to, and causing the state monumental disgrace .

This takes us to what becomes of Ekiti politically after this Government. Looking at the situation painstakingly, I can tell you everywhere is charged up political in Ekiti. This is the first time in history politically, in Ekiti whereby we shall be witnessing such a robust number of candidates showing interest in the number one position of the state.

It has however become significant that, Ekiti is aware of mistakes made in the past and willing to correct it at this very next election. Let me inform you that a lot of credible candidates are showing interest and it is a laudable development for it is a national disgrace for a fountain of knowledge to be led by someone of no befitting CV. Ekiti needs someone who is very successful in his own private life and businesses, an entrepreneur, someone who befits the status of Ekiti as people of high quality of Education as well as lover of people. Someone who knows how to created wealth and transform ekiti by using the knowledge advantage to productivity.

I do not support recycling of OLD LEADER. If you have once done it and yet you do not see anything good in all your followers to support for the said Governor position, then such person is not a good leader. The same way I was vehemently against zoning. In short, it should be given a befitting burial; for it may cause division and bitterness if encouraged. However, I am not opposing to a good candidate emanating from Ekiti South, but it should not be given such celebration as it is being done presently under the canopy of South South Agenda.

It is on this note that I strongly align my position with Otunba Segun Adewale whose CV remain outstandingly and his records of philanthropism has got no rival among the political class in Ekiti of today.

You were part of a strong political group in the state that stood against the immediate past governor, Kayode Fayemi. You waged a big war against him because as you argued then, he was bringing outsiders to come and run the affairs of the state. Right now, you seem to have changed your mind about with the bringing on of Segun Adewale (Aeroland) into the contest. What informed your change of mind and what chances does he have?

Thanks. It is true that I was the PRO of Ekitikoya. It was then the group that librated people of Ekiti under the government of Fayemi. Yes, I was one of those that propagated the gospel of home-grown personalities in government, when majority of those in the cabinet of Fayemi were his allies from abroad. I still remain very unblinking about my position on home-grown talents. Maybe I need to define who is a home-grown person. The home-grown is not that person who reside is in Ekiti permanently, but that person who has the interest of his people at heart. That person whose effects has been felt one way or the other, even before the intention to contest is made.

PoliticsLagos PDP: Aeroland Extends Olive Branch To Salvador by Penaldo(op): 7:01am On Apr 27, 2017
http://nationaldailyng.com/lagos-pdp-adewale-extends-olive-branch-to-salvador/?utm_source=WhatsApp&utm_medium=IM&utm_campaign=share A factional leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State Mr. Segun Adewale (Aeroland) has express desire to reconcile with Hon. Adegoke Salvador with the sole aim of delivering victory to the PDP at the coming council poll, describing the crisis was responsible for the dwindling political fortune recorded by the party in time past.

Adewale who made this disclosure at a supposed reconciliatory parley, held at the PDP secretariat in Lagos, unequivocally stated that, “we have fought since and have not move forward and time is going, we are not ready to fight anybody again, tell the Makarfi group, there is no need for them to run away, they should come back, let us sit down together and deliver victory to PDP.

“From our own end we are here to work with Salvador, I plead to all of you gathered here please we will need to reconvene this meeting, we can’t have a meeting properly without the Makarfi group, we have to carry them along and do it together.

“There is no Sheriff or Makarfi group, we are one in Lagos, we shall do the election together, let’s stop the internal wrangling, I already spoke with Salvador about this but I am surprised that between yesterday to this morning the meeting arrangement changed. They said they are not yet ready to meet with us, what happened?

“Please we only have this opportunity to showcase our party choice, for the councillorship and chairmanship position in the Local Government. The suffering is too much in Lagos.

“All you supporters of Makarfi in Lagos, please we are begging you let’s come together to deliver Lagos from the captors and slave drivers, if Salvador so wish for the purpose of the election, I am ready to shift the ground for him to be the chairman while I take the vice chairman position, I am ready to allow him, for three months I don’t mind.”Aeroland asserts.

Adewale noted that liberating Lagosians from the shackles of the marauders fleecing the state is paramount to him.

ALSO SEE: Group blasts Bello over anti-poor policies

He added that he would gladly relinquish that for Bode George, “we can’t fight him, but please let them come so that we can work together, for we are the winning side, all those who won at the last polls were with Sheriff, aside Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu, who is with the Makarfi group, all those that have defected, we shall have to replace them and continue with our winning streak.

“Never, never, never again, would PDP fight PDP,now let’s move forward, also regarding this secretariat we shall not forcefully take possession, we however need to prayerfully break the jinx bedeviling victory here as we have not for once produced a Governor from here unlike elsewhere in Nigeria”. Adewale said.

Towards the tail end of the meeting, Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu, joined and gave his poise to work with the group as well as influence the Makarfi group to see reasons why reconciliatory move is germane for the political wellbeing and fortune of the PDP in Lagos.

“The PDP took me this far having afforded me a platform remain one, all enemies against the positive future of PDP will be roasted by holy ghost fire, for the PDP in the South West was assisted by him, yes because if you don’t know where you are going, you should know where you are coming from, regardless of the faction, distraction, extraction and defection.

“ As far as I am concerned this great man standing here was a measure to my talk and do, we are aware that devil tries to disrupt good things but we are no able to see clearly and identify the devils and that main course is what made me remain a PDP member.

“:I am aware there are bad eggs amongst us, keep doing that but be sure God will remove you soon, this is a great man, and I chose to stand by great men,I am standing and saying confidently that we are one.

“ We would all come back and where we need to make amend we would do just that, if we have offended you, even as an Honourable member of the Lagos Assembly, I can still say sorry, for this man we are ready to team up and take over for the purpose of the local government election. Dipo affirms.

PoliticsI Can Never Denigrate My People, Says Adewale, Ekiti PDP Guber Aspirant by Penaldo(op):
A leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Otunba Segun Adewale has disclaimed a disparaging comment made against the people of the state on Twitter.

Mr. Adewale, who disowned the Twitter handle through which the comments were made, alerted the people of the state that “some frustrated and disgruntled politicians who are intimidated” by his joining the governorship race, were behind the plot to clash him with the people.

The PDP chieftain made the rebuttal in a statement signed by the Director General of his foundation, ‘Otunba Segun Adewale Foundation (OSAF)’, Prince ‘Tosin Jegede, on Saturday.

Mr. Jegede, who maintained that the Twitter handle used in passing the denigrating remarks didn’t belong to Mr. Adewale, went further to release details of the social medias profile of the PDP’s stalwart to establish his points.

“We wish to state categorically that the said handle is not Otunba Segun Adewale’s personal Twitter handle. For the avoidance of doubt, Otunba Segun Adewale’s personal Twitter handle is @segunaeroland and Facebook account is “Segun Adewale”, accounts he has operated for over 5 years,” the statement noted.

He portrayed the governorship hopeful of holding the people of Ekiti in high regards and “As a cultured thorough bread Ekiti himself, he would not have spoken or written in any manner that may undermine or denigrate his own people.”

“His records as a young lad at Ipoti High School clearly shows his level headedness and an ‘omoluabi’ at its best,” he added.

Mr. Jegede recalled how respected “Nigerians like former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President Goodluck Jonathan and several others have accounts created with their names on the social media by individuals not known to them.

“In fact, Baba Obasanjo once said he doesn’t operate a single personal account on Facebook or Twitter, yet many are there bearing his name.”

He, however, described as mischievous and desperate attempts by some people to hold Mr. Adewale responsible for comments he didn’t make, reiterating the vision of him (Adewale) to fight poverty in Ekiti.

“Efforts attempting to hold Otunba Segun Adewale responsible for comments made by some individuals exchanging banter with sponsored agents of Governor Ayodele Fayose on Twitter is not only mischievous but a clear demonstration of desperation by those uncomfortable with Adewale’s vision to fight poverty in Ekiti,” he said.

“Their interest is to enrich a few while the larger majority depend on handouts from the rich few.

“The time to eradicate poverty in Ekiti is now. The wealth belongs to all. Support Otunba Segun Adewale in his aspiration to turn our knowledge into wealth,” Mr. Jegede charged.

Romance28 Years Old Indonesian Man Marries 82years Old Woman by Penaldo(op): 6:26pm On Apr 22, 2017
They say love knows no boundaries, and the touching story of how a 28-year-old man in Indonesia fell in love with a woman 54 years his senior over the phone and ended up marrying her despite objections from both their families seems to confirm the old saying.

About a year ago, Sofian Loho Dandel, a 28-year-old warehouse worker from the Indonesian island of Mantehage, received a call from an unknown number. Upon answering, he learned that the women on the other end of the line had dialed his number by mistake, while trying to call someone else. Only instead of hanging up and moving on with their lives, the two started making conversation and getting to know each other. Little did either of them know that they were talking to their future spouse.

“A year ago, I received a phone call from an unknown caller, I answered and we came to know each other,” Sofian recently told Indonesian reporters. “Since then, we have constantly kept in contact without knowing her age. I had never dated before, I felt in love.”

RomanceChinese Man Proposes To His GF With 33-tonne Meteorite by Penaldo(op): 6:15pm On Apr 22, 2017
Proposing with a diamond ring is nice, but it’s been done millions of times, so, in a n effort to be more original, a Chinese man decided to pop the big question to his sweetheart with a different kind of rock – a 33-tonne “meteorite”.

Liu Fei, a young man from Urumqi, China, recently made national headlines after proposing to his girlfriend with a large boulder that he claimed was a “33-tonne meteorite”. On March 14, Liu took his beloved to a public square, where he got down on one knee in a heart made of rose petals and asked her to marry him. As soon as she answered “yes”, a couple of the man’s friends unveiled a strange boulder strategically placed in the middle of the square. Apparently, this wasn’t just any rock, but a meteorite that Liu had bought for 1 million yuan ($145,000), money he had originally saved for a new apartment.

Segun Adewale has declared his intention to contest the 2018 Ekiti governorship election on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adewale is the factional chairman of the Lagos state chapter of PDP.

The chairman of Aeroland said his aversion of poverty motivated his decision to join the Ekiti governorship race.

“I hate poverty with a passion and by the grace of God if I am given the privilege to lead my people, together we shall defeat the hold of poverty on our people and state,” he said while speaking with journalists.

“It is an aberration that a State known as the fountain of knowledge is also among the poorest states in the country. My mission in Ekiti is to defeat poverty in the land by converting our God given knowledge to wealth.

“Our manifesto is geared towards building a strong financial capacity for the state and her citizens such that Ekiti can be a lender to other states of the federation.”

Adewale said he has informed the party’s state working committee and other stakeholders of his intention.

He added that Ekiti needs someone with integrity at the helm of its affairs.

“I have come here today with my supporters to inform our party leaders of my intention to vie for the governorship seat next year. This visit puts to rest the rumors on whether I will contest or not,” he said.

“Ekiti state needs a man of integrity, values and decorum as the governor. Under our watch, Ekiti state will experience clear developmental and infrastructure gains. Our policies shall be centered on empowering Ekiti people financially.

“Our vision is to make Ekiti State a reference point in Nigeria in the areas of Agriculture, Technology, Education, Healthcare delivery, social amenities, industrialization and to ensure financial independence from the Federal Government.”

Williams Ajayi, Ekiti state PDP chairman, said while no aspirant had been endorsed by the secretariat, Adewale was the first to officially express his interest in contesting the next governorship election.

Adewale was the candidate of the PDP for the Lagos west senatorial election in 2015.

PoliticsBode George Trying To Swindle LG Aspirants – Adewale, Lagos State PDP Chairman by Penaldo(op):
Segun Adewale, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Lagos chapter, has accused Bode George, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees, of selling nomination forms illegally to members aspiring to contest the forthcoming local government poll in the state. Adewale, who belongs to the court-recognised Ali Modu Sheriff’s group, alleged the illegal form sale was being done by George and his protégé, Moshood Salvador. More so, he alleged George and his group had frustrated reconciliation effort among party members in the state.

“Whoever that is selling nomination forms to aspirants other than my Exco is doing so illegally. They are out to defraud members that are ignorant of their grand plan to help the APC rig the LG elections in advance. Once we lay hold of any receipt for such sale of form, whoever that has authorized such sale will answer the law”, Adewale stated.

Moreover, Adewale said rather than the Lagos PDP going into the election “as a united team”, “George and his team of desperate followers are consistently frustrating all attempts for reconciliation towards any elections”.

“They are always quick to sell nomination forms just to defraud aspirants of their hard earn monies despite being aware that they do not have the legal backing to represent the party in Lagos State. The position of the court is clear on this. Bode George and his stooge, Moshood Salvador are scammers and men of low integrity that any serious aspirant should avoid like a virus.

“The Appeal Court judgment in Port Harcourt had laid to rest the argument as to who the National Chairman of the PDP is, until the Supreme Court says otherwise, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff remains the National Chairman of the PDP. The National Chairman had also written to INEC to recognize my Exco as the representatives of the Party in Lagos State. Every other individuals parading as the party representatives are impostors seeking to defraud ignorant aspirants”.

He stated aspirants could purchase the party’s nomination forms at the designated PDP’s state secretariat at 233 Abeokuta Expressway, Iyana Ipaja,.

Adewale warned that he will not hesitate to seek appropriately legal redress, including contempt of court, against impostors seeking to undermine court decisions. “We can no longer seat back and watch impostors deprive the PDP of its deserved victory at the polls especially at the grassroots. We have made available relevant documents to LASIEC and relevant agencies; we will now deal decisively with impostors using all legal means”.

The cabal should leave Saraki alone
PoliticsSaraki: Victim Or Villain? by Penaldo(op):
Senator Bukola Saraki, former Governor of Kwara State and former Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) and the current Senate President trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal was fueled by those who see him as a threat in 2019.

Senator Saraki’s problem is being engineered, fanned, propelled, sponsored and sustained by forces that see him as a threat to them in 2019.

It is of course in the open that Saraki’s persecutors were all in the APC. It is just a matter of time the identity of those who are interested in Saraki’s case will become open. Right now, they are in the back shooting missiles, but it is just a question of time, light will cast on their faces and their activities will come to the open.

The Saraki threat is not for this government, it is for what is coming ahead. So Saraki is a victim of a conflict of ambition whereby if he was not a Senate President, he could not have been in this spotlight. And if he is not a threat in the future, he would not be passing through what he is passing through now.

In other advanced counties people like Senator Saraki are honoured for the excellent work done so far at the 8th Assembly but the reverse is the case with us in Nigeria.

It is on record that the 8th National Assembly under the leadership of Senator Saraki has achieved the under listed:

1. 33 Senate Bills Passed
2. 68 Bills Due for Second Reading
3. 56 Bills Introduced Since September
4. 227 Bills at First Reading Stage
5. 145 Bills Due for Second Reading

7. 411 Bills Introduced
8. 9 Priority Bills at Committee Stage
9. 54 House Bills Waiting for Concurrence
10. 35 Concurrence bills passed
11. 32 Constitution amendment Bills

The Senate Bills That Have Been Passed
(ORIGINATED IN THE SENATE)
