Politics / Re: Another 100 Bodies In Nigeria ‘mass Grave’ In Town Taken From Boko Haram by pendy79: 10:14pm On Mar 20, 2015
I hope these bastards have not DECAPACITED the CHIBOK GIRLS while the president is still waiting for them to SHOW HIM THE DEAD BODIES before he knows what to do.
Politics / Another 100 Bodies In Nigeria ‘mass Grave’ In Town Taken From Boko Haram by pendy79: 10:10pm On Mar 20, 2015
Around 100 bodies were found Friday in a mass grave on the outskirts of the town of Damasak after it was liberated from Boko Haram Islamists, a Chadian army spokesman told AFP.

Soldiers discovered the bodies — some decapitated — under a bridge just outside the town, which was retaken from Boko Haram on March 9 by troops from Chad and Niger.

“There are about 100 bodies spread around under the bridge just outside the town,” said Colonel Azem Bermandoa Agouna, adding that he had visited the scene himself close to the border with Niger.

He claimed the massacre probably happened about two months ago and said: “This is the work of Boko Haram.”

It was, however, impossible to verify the claim independently.

Colonel Bermandoa Agouna said several of the victims had been decapitated while other had been shot. “There are heads here and bodies there, the mass grave has become like a termite mound,” he added.

Chad and Niger launched a vast air and ground offensive against Boko Haram in the area on March 8, quickly taking Damasak from the Nigerian Islamist militants.

According to a Chadian army source, the militants suffered heavy losses in the push, with some 200 killed in fighting on Sunday for the loss of 10 Chadian soldiers with 20 wounded.

“Operation Mai Dounama”, named after a 13th-century emperor of Borno province in northern Nigeria, aims to destroy Boko Haram bases close to Niger, a Nigerien army spokesman said Thursday.

Boko Haram took Damasak on November 24, killing around 50 people and forcing another 3,000 to flee, according to the UN’s High Commissioner for Refugees.

Politics / Re: Gunmen Attack And Disrupt APC Rally In Wike's Hometown. by pendy79: 9:56pm On Mar 20, 2015
the most silly and dangerous trend in this year's election is the compromise and blindness of the Nigerian Police Force to the excesses and blatant crimes of the PDP from Lagos to Abia to Kaduna and Rivers State. A policeman was killed in Okrika and the police have not arrest any suspects in the matter but rather they have been going out to lock-up innocent supporters of the APC under framed up charges.

How most police commissioners and AIGs will remain in service after the defeat of GEJ I don't know. I only hope the dollars GEJ and PDP gave them will be enough to last them till their death

Politics / Gunmen Attack And Disrupt APC Rally In Wike's Hometown. by pendy79: 9:45pm On Mar 20, 2015
At least two chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC) were today shot by unknown gunmen and many others injured at Eleparawon, Obio-Akpor local Government area of Rivers state, the home of Nyesom Wike, PDP, governorship candidate disrupting the ward-to-ward campaign APC.

It is was gathered that the APC ward chairman, Mr Tasie Wike, was among those injured and rushed to hospital.

Confirming the incident Solomon Ikeguru, the APC chairman in Obio-Akpor said that Dakuku Peterside, the APC Governorship candidate was suppose to in the area in continuation of his ward-to-ward campaign at Eleparawon when suddenly they saw gunmen shooting sporadically and other attackers armed with machetes, guns and other lethal weapons suspected to be party thugs advancing menacingly towards APC members they had to run for their dear lives.

On the number of those injured, Ikeguru said: “We cannot ascertain because when gunmen started shooting sporadically and they were advancing we started running to different directions and was pandemonium.”

Ahmad Muhammad PPRO to the Rivers Police command could not confirm the incident.

It is significant to note that the alleged shooting and disruption of APC rally today is happening less than 24 hours after thousands of APC members and their Caretaker Committee chairmen from the 23 local government staged peaceful protest to the Police headquarters and Department of Security Services over insecurity of the lives of APC members to freely associate in the state.

Meanwhile, the Dr. Sampson Parker, Commissioner for Health has raised alarm at the rising number of patients with gunshot and machete wounds being reported at the various government hospitals in the state arising from politically motivated attacks the state.

In a press briefing, Dr Parker said that available records showed that cases of patients with gunshot wounds, and other related injuries were on the rise at Kelsey Harrison and Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, all in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He stated that at the local government areas, there were also reports of similar cases, but did not disclose the figures.

The statement read: “It behoves me at this time to announce to the people of Rivers State the emergence of a new epidemic. There is an epidemic of political violence going on in Rivers state. At the Ministry of Health, my colleagues and I toil daily to ensure that we provide services, given available resources, in health care delivery.

“We have built some of the best health centres, hospitals and other medical institutions. However, daily, our people are confronted with danger as they go about their normal and lawful businesses.”

According to him, “an orgy of political violence have been unleashed on the people of Rivers State and we are seeing an abnormal increase in deaths and injuries as elections approach.”

He disclosed that statistics from Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMSH) and Kelsey Harrison Hospital from January to 12 March 2015 showed that cases of gunshot injuries were 41 while those from assaults, including machete injuries were 26.

Parker stated that these facts do not include the figures for deaths arising from this new epidemic, adding that, the reason is that the dead were not brought to the hospitals.

“However, as reported in the news recently, there have been killings at Oroworukwo, Okrika, Omoku and numerous others around the state. There is no doubt in my mind that there are cases which were neither reported to the police nor government health facilities.

“Therefore the figures given to you here do not reflect the true index of political violence in our State. Indeed, they may just be the tip of the iceberg,” he said.

“Let us note here that the Ebola scourge for which the country and our state rose up as one to combat only accounted for 10 deaths in Nigeria, out of which 2 were in Rivers state. Today, the number of deaths arising from political violence has greatly surpassed Ebola accounting by 31 deaths. Yet, we go about our lives as if we have accepted this ominous situation.

“We at the Rivers State Ministry of Health have decided to raise this alarm because it is our duty to save lives. We are also using this opportunity to warn our people and make them aware of this danger to our way of life.

“Election period should be a time for debates, exchange of ideas, mobilization of the people not killing

I just got this information that the presidency is planning to initiate a police strike that will further allow the president to shift the coming elections till a time when Jega tenure will expire.

I don't know how reliable this ccould be but it's worth analysing given the desperation of the president to win the election. Anybody within the police can either authenticate or refute the credibility of this strike.

That is their PLan D and seems like their last resort now. Every other plot and plan have failed so far but do not worry, A lawyer onagoruwa have initiated a COURT PROCESS to stop any STRIKE ACTION.

The plot is real and A FACELESS GROUP OF PEOPLE claiming to be policemen have given a notice of the strike to both print and electronic media.

The daft man will tell you he is not desperate but he is doing everything possible to scuttle the election since he knows he is gonna lose.

I have seen purchase of smoked plantain, corn and gala but this one goes above the normal gimmick. He got the script all wrong.

Buy vegetable, is he a goat ni? The script is to buy and eat instantly to show humility and bringing yourself to the level of ordinary people but when you go buy veggie, then you must buy pot, buy pepper, buy stove, buy onions, buy fish then enter a road side bukka and do the cooking there.

The rigging plans in Osun State failed because the electorates waited and protected their votes after voting. The electoral act is clear, you must not loiter or move aimlessly around during voting.

There is no way PDP can win the Presidential Election on the 28th of March. With JEGA as INEC chair Nigerians will experience a repeat of the June 12 experience again.

With Card Readers they WILL NEVER BE GHOST VOTERS.

if JonaTAN is happy using IPPIS to catch GHOST WORKERS, he should be happy about CARD READERS catching GHOST VOTERS too.

Politics / Knocks For Jonathan Over 50% Electricty Tariff Reduction by pendy79: 12:01am On Mar 20, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan’s announcement of 50 per cent reduction of electricity tariff has elicited knocks and negative criticism for him, rather than kudos, with the Organized Private Sector (OPS) and Civil society organizations in Edo state describing it as politically motivated and geared towards winning the forthcoming elections.

Those who reacted to the tariff reduction said it will not have economic benefits on the lives of the Nigeria masses. They contended that the major challenge of electricity consumers besides inadequate power supply, was the contentious issue of N750 monthly fixed charges imposed on consumers by the electricity distribution companies.

President of Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA), Andy Edobor, while commenting on the issue, said the federal government came up with the 50 per cent reduction of tariff on electricity when it was obvious that they will lose the presidential elections.

“The federal government’s action is political and it now dawned on the government that they will lose the general elections that is why they are now doing everything possible to woo Nigerians.

“For businessmen, it is a welcome development and for the masses it is of no use without regular power supply as well as not extended to the fixed charges.

“Private charges for investors cost between N100, 000 to N200, 000 and their electricity consumption monthly is not more than N20,000. And I want to ask what is the rationale for the exorbitant payment for electricity when they did not consume up to that amount?,” Edobor asked.

The BENCCIMA President however added that after due consultation, the body will come for a press conference to let the federal government know that the electricity rate and lack of power supply is really crippling industries in the country.

Also commenting on the tariff reduction, the state chairman of the National Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASS), Noma Iguisi, said the association was at loss as to what categories of the charges the 50 per cent reduction of the electricity tariff affected.

He said the national leadership of the body has been discussing with the federal government on the need to reduce the N14 per unit of electricity tariff and scrap the N31 per unit that is also charged.

Iguisi said the body would not make any commendation statement not until the federal government make full clarification of the tariff rate of between N14 and N31.

Also reacting, Tony Abolo, a Media Consultant said both the N87 per litre of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) announced recently by the Government and the 50 percent reduction of tariff of electricity were all gimmicks by President Jonathan to woo electorate to their favour.

According to him, the Greek offers to Nigerians were tactics of the 60s and 80s, adding “that Nigerians are today more enlightened and informed to make their own independent decisions.”

The historic Parliament Building in Ibadan was over-filled today as prominent Yoruba in all professions, princes and monarchs, governors and former governors, gathered to articulate their aspirations and minimum demands from the Federal Government.

The high point of the summit, convened by the illustrious Yoruba retired army general, Alani Akinrinade was the total support given the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari.

The summiteers declared unanimously, “It is Buhari or nobody else”.

A major proponent of this declaration, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade who was represented by High Chief Eddy Oyewole said, “On 28 March, 2015, let us vote for Buhari”.

He condemned the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for wasting the meager resources of the country by lavishly bribing various individuals and groups to secure their supports.

While Senator Anthony Adefuye strongly stated, “Only a bastard Yoruba will vote for Jonathan, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye said, ‘We will vote en masse for Buhari”.

Shortly after delivering the message sent by the governorship candidate of Accord Party in the state, Senator Rasheed Ladoja that he would go the way of Yoruba people.

Senator Ayo Fasanmi declared, “At this point, we Yorubas should know where we are going. PDP is distributing money to earn wrong votes. Come May 29, we will be happy when Buhari becomes the president of the nation.

“Why would Jonathan appoint ministers two months to the end of his term if not that they want to use all means to steal what is left in the coffer; that is if anything is left? By God’s grace, I, Senator Ayo Fasanmi will vote for Buhari. May 29, Buhari will be sworn in as our president.”

National Chairman, Afenifere Renewal Group, ARG, Honourable Olawale Oshun said that considering the fact that Yoruba people have been suffering marginalisation within the Nigerian state for the past 16 years, Yorubas should vote for leaders who have its interests at heart in order to bring an end to this unacceptable state of affairs.

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who decried the high level of maginalisation of Yoruba in the Jonathan led administration said, “We have been subject of brazen marginalization and deliberate attempt to whittle down our historical contributions to the development of Nigeria. It will interest you to note that in the wheel of power at the centre, there are only two Yoruba people. Indeed, out of the 50 most powerful men and women in the executive, legislative, judicial and even security components of power in Nigeria, there are only two Yoruba people. These are the Chief of Staff to the President, whose choice was almost an afterthought and the Accountant General of the Federation.”

Following suit, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola of State of Osun joined others in condemning Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, for derailing from the principle of ‘omoluabi” that Yoruba is known for by collecting bribe from a desperate aspirant.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President Candidate of APC, in his short remarks, urged Nigerians to be patient at this trying moment assuring that things would soon change for the better when APC takes over government at the centre.

Inside the Parliament Building: some of the crowd at the summit

In the communique issued at the end of the summit, the main grievances of the region include: maginalisation which has attained the status of deliberate policy of the central government of Nigeria, calculated attempts to invade and subjugate Yoruba land through covert, disguised and even official policies of the Central Government, misguiding some elements in the region for their selfish reasons, decimation of entrepreneurial ambitions of Yoruba people through Federal Institutions and agencies that are supposed to be enablers and facilitators of economic development, near virtual absence of reliable and critical infrastructure of electricity, energy, and transportation which has led to the collapse of economic activities in Yoruba land, absence of proactive, concerted, and visionary leadership in Nigeria, insecurity at the level of state of emergency, and failure of the resolutions of the National Conference to resolve fundamental issues that are prerequisite to a sustainable federalism

As a result, in the communique, they demanded for regionalism, diversification of economy, holding free, fair, credible and transparent elections as scheduled to commence on Saturday, March 28, 2015, resistance to any form of unelected government, be it Government of National Unity, Interim National Government or howsoever described, repealing of laws and policies that stifle the creativity of the people, dismantling of all pseudo-security agencies that impede peace, harass and terrorise her citizens in order to enforce pre-determined agenda that are not consistent with the wishes of the region, and removal of all bottlenecks in the way of provision of effective and efficient transportation system, electrical power, and petroleum refining infrastructure.

According to the communique, “That the effectiveness of the Federal Government of Nigeria lies on focusing on the critical issues of governance that are common to all components, like defence, national security, foreign affairs, currency and exchange rate, etc, while all other socio-economic responsibilities, especially that of resource control, devolve to the federating units. Yoruba must pursue their destiny in line with the development priorities and ambitions of her people. The creation of a structural environment for effective devolution of powers to the country’s constituent units as a strategic development is imperative. Yoruba people will not hesitate to take our destiny in our own hands in the event of any attempt to compromise our democratic existence.”

Dignitaries at the occasion include: Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, and his deputy, Chief Moses Adeyemo, former governors including: Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Otunba Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola of State of Osun, former Military Governor of the Mid-West State, Samuel Ogbemudia, former Deputy Governor of Ekiti, Modupe Adelabu, Professor Albert Olawale, former Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Professor Wale Omole, and his Ekiti State University counterpart, Professor Akin Oyebode, Professor John Ayoade, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, Senator Bayo Salami, Senator James Kolawole, , The Managing Director of The News Magazine, Bayo Onanuga, President of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Ambassador Olu Sanu, Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, prominent monarchs in the region including: Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, Oba Adeniyi Sonariwo, Akarigbo Remo, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo of Owode-Egba, Asheyin of Iseyin, Oba Ganiyu Adekunle Ologunebi, and Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola.

Ask them what the present administration can show as it flagship achievement for 5years plus, they will.tell.you Rails and Railway. But they stupidly didn't realize the 18th century rail renovation we are doing is WITH A LOAN FROM CHINA THAT WE WILL STILL PAY BACK not as if NIGERIA is financing it solely yet the CHINESE ensured the renovation will be exclusive to CHINESE FIRMS, thus making them engage THEIR SONS AND DAUGTHERS while young civil and mechanical engineers in Nigeria are roaming the streets. Since the bulk of the money comes from them do we have a choice.

Check the $40million Rail transformation in Ehiopia and compare with our own $12billion rails that Lord Lugard commissioned same type in 1914 then you begin to weep for Nigeria and its RAPED, Bastardized and maltreat people who celebrate their tormentors all because they have tribal and religious familiarity with him.

They assume it is normal to go without lights for days yet pay outrageous bills month end, they believe good roads is a luxury exclusive to high brew areas, they believe good qualitative and free health care system is a myth, they believe a job of 50k a month is the peak for a young graduate.

The psyche of an average Nigeria living in penury is so bastardized that he believes his life is a worthless hopeless one because he feels the Government does not owe him a responsibility. The weekly welfare package for an unemployed citizen in the UK is more than the salary of most young graduates in Nigeria yet you will them suffering and smiling while celebrAting those who perpetually put them in servitude under the cover of he is our son, he is our brother, he comes from the south south so he is close to us, he is a Christian amd other stupid daft and crazy thoughts that one ponder if most Nigerians are cursed never to demand quality and responsive governance from.those who lead them.

Thank God there is massive re-awakening and with what I saw today at the APC meet the women town hall meeting I realize the South West have decided to take its destiny into its own hands. If there are tribes amd people who feel they are okay with the mediocrity of what is happening in Nigeria presently, then thats their own cup of tea.
