One would assume all is well in PDP states concerning salary payment when one know the latest protest especially in Osun was engineered and sponsored by PDP and it assumption that painting those governors in bad light will sway votes for them.

Workers are protesting in Osun and you have just 50people on the street as if only those few are the ones in the State civil service. Those are PDP members not Osun Workers. Workers won't protest without their union flags and uniforms.

How many months is Gabriel Suswan owing his Workers in Benue? Which month did Idris wada last paid civil servants in Kogi? akwa ibom with its huge allocation had civil servants going on 3weeks strike for non payment of their salary, Jonah jang is owing workers in.Plateau, JonaTAN is owing some Federal Agencies almost 3months salary, mimiko is owing salary since October 2014 for some ministries in ondo, martin elechi is owing in Ebonyi and many others govs in PDP controlled states but they will keep quiet and say Aregbesola is owing like he is diverting the monies to his private account.

The PDP using bribes and settlement to force some its members parading as civil servants to try embarrass the govs in the SW to swerve public opinion, sorry its not working, the PDP and JonaTAN won't win one SW state on the 28th of March except INEC does not use PVCs. In the SW it is anything but JonaTAN, he can continue his dollar rain of foolishness thinking money buyeth all things.

Ogun is not owing salaries, they could not find excuse, they say he is holding deductions that isn't going to the workers salary, let him pay the deduction then and stop their salaries since the deduction is paramount to them.

Which state isn't feeling the impact of the huge reduction in allocation aside Lagos State.

Do you know the mega watts of electricity generated by Rivers state at Omoku, Trans Amadi and at Eleme. You need to travel out of your birth place and see what others are doing. It is people like you that are singing praises on Fashola for commissioning expensive generators.

Some smart governors will use the deregulation of electricity generation and distribution to wean their states from reliance on the national grid, many of you will be caught offguard
Is Omoku not owned by AGIP and was it the deregulation that engineers it? Eleme and Trans Amadi new IPP generate for the DISCO who are licensed by the federal government. Owned by most of the states in the south south with Ibom power plants. I know those terrains

Lagos state was rejected because it was an ACN state then while all PDP states who applied were given the concessions

I think you probably need education and enlightenment of the Law governing Power generation in Nigeria.

It is solely within the purview of the Federal Government of republic of Nigeria and no single state government can generate more than a certain amount without sending it to the National Grid.

Fashola is saying Allow me handle it, I will perform what you think is impossible.

Tinubu did same with ENRON but NEPA said he cannot go ahead without following their guidelines.

PoliticsWe’ve Not Received Court Papers On New Party –INEC by pendy79(op): 9:19pm On Mar 10, 2015
Days after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered that the Independent National Commission, INEC register a new political party, the electoral body yesterday said it was yet to receive the judgment papers.

The court had last week directed the commission to register the Young Democratic Party, YDP. Consequently, the YDP asked INEC to include its name, logo and candidates on the ballot paper for the general elections slated for March 28 and April 11.

The party was not listed among parties contesting the 2015 general elections until the court ordered INEC to issue it a certificate of registration.

Following the judgement, the leadership of the party is insisting that INEC must print new ballot papers, to include its name and candidacy or shift the election dates.

However, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Kayode Idowu, said the commission is yet to take a decision on the matter as it was yet to receive the court papers.

He also described as ignorance insinuation in some quarters that INEC has created additional polling units through the back door.

“There are 119,973 polling units in the country; and just as we did in 2011, we broke down large polling units into voting points.

That is what we wanted to avoid in 2015 when we wanted to create additional polling units, because the problem with voting units is that when a polling unit is large and you break it down in to voting units, it will still be at the same location where as if you created new polling units the location will differ.

“The voting units will ensure you do not find about 2,000 people queuing (at a unit) so we break them down to a maximum of 700 for the voting units. But you will still have all the 2,000 people there be cause it is the same polling unit.

“But if we had created new polling units, many people who may have moved away to maybe new settlements that did not exist before the creation of the polling unit could be going to different location for voting,” Idowu said.

He further explained that with the splitting of polling units, there are nearly 155,000 polling units and voting points, adding that the voting guideline stipulates that no polling unit should have more than 700 persons.

…11 others under investigation

Twelve senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, have been suspended for extorting $13, 000 (N2.73m) from passengers as well as releasing seized consignments

Also being disciplined are 11 other senior officers, who are currently being investigated by disciplinary panels set up by the Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko, bringing to 23, the number of erring officers.

Public Relations Officer of the Service, Wale Adeniyi, a Deputy Comptroller, who made the disclosure yesterday, said three of the suspended officers are of the rank of Assistant Superintendent, serving at the Currency Declaration desk of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

They were implicated in a case of extorting $13, 000 from a passenger during the outward clearance of an Emirates Airline flight.

Five of the affected officers, who are of the rank of Assistant Comptrollers at the Tin Can Island Port command, were suspended from office pending the outcome of the panel set up to investigate allegation of improper release of seized consignments leveled against them.

Adeniyi said further that two other officers, who are also of the rank of Assistant Superintendent, serving at the Seme Border Command were suspended for alleged rape, an offence said to have been committed in Badagry area of Lagos State recently.

The disciplinary measures were also meted on middle level management officers serving in the various ports formations for one form of offence or the other.

Investigations also showed that another set of five officers, including a Deputy Comptroller posted to Apapa Port Command have appeared before an investigative panel for offences ranging from negligence to improper examination of containers, among others

The remaining six officers were also made to appear before the disciplinary panel for offences ranging from hacking of passwords, falsification of academic certificates, negligence and general indiscipline.

The Comptroller General, who reacted to the increasing cases of indiscipline, warned that the Service will stop at nothing in checkmating officers and men from operating illegal check points.

While admitting that his office has been awash with complaints over the setting of illegal checkpoints on some routes, particularly around Kogi, Ondo and Edo states, the Comptroller General however assured that special unit would be set up to conduct surveillance operations to apprehend culprits.

He also warned that officers operating such illegal check points will be severely punished.

The Customs boss expressed regrets over the involvement of young officers recently recruited into the Service in various illegal acts, which he said is worrisome.

He further warned that the Service will not tolerate such officers, disclosing that the required machinery were being strengthened, designed to arrest and punish the erring officers and men

Power generation is on the Exclusive List of the Federal Government just like Security, Military and INEC.

No state can constitutionally generate more than a certain amount of MWs except THEY WILL SEND IT TO THE NATIONAL GRID FOR OTHERS TO SHARE, so Fashola knows what he is talking about.

PoliticsI Can Provide Stable Power In Eight Months - Fashola by pendy79(op):
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday evening boasted that he could provide uninterrupted power supply to Lagos residents between six and eight months.

Fashola spoke at the commissioning of 8.5 megawatts Lekki Independent Power Project (IPP), the fifth of such power projects in the last five years in the state.

The governor said the addition of the Lekki IPP was a testament to the fact that stable power does not require rocket science to achieve in the country.

While challenging power distribution companies in the state, Fashola said, “Let the Eko DISCOs sign a contract with me, giving part of their concessioning to the state government, in about six to eight months, there will be power in all homes in Lagos State,” Fashola said.

He added, “So, let no one say that he has no money to deliver power for the entire country. This is the limit to which the law allows us to do, but we have done this to make a statement that power can be generated. So, when they come with lies that power is impossible, you can tell them that we have power here; we make it possible”.

The project, courtesy of the state government, in partnership with Heritage Bank, is to serve Lagos State Water Corporations in Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Victoria Island and Ikoyi, as well as over 25km of public lightening in the Lekki axis.

Commissioning the project, Fashola said he felt fulfilled with the conduct of youths that delivered the project, despite the difficulties in getting to the finishing point.

He said it also showed that the money to improve the Nigerian economy is here, “since we don’t need the World Bank to come and do this for us.”

Also, General Manager, Lagos State Electricity Board, Damilola Ogunbiyi, said the state had shown that reliable and sustainable power projects are possible through the youths.

Ogunbiyi said though it had been a successful story, the state was just scratching the surface in its “aggressive development plan” in the area of power.

Promoter of the project, Faruk Agoro noted that the new IPP was an innovative idea of world-class natural gas-fired power generating facility, sold to the government by youths and it was bought into, to support government institutions, especially in the area of water supply and security.

The Lekki IPP is 8.5 megawatts, with the capacity for 30 megawatts.

This brings the Lagos IPPS to a total of 47 megawatts of electricity in total, powering several public institutions around the state.

The generated megawatts is however still a far cry from the over 10, 000 megawatts power deficit in the state.

On his part, the State Commissioner in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Taofeek Tijani, said the new addition was about continuity in public infrastructure programme of the state government
