Merry Christmas Everybody!!!! |
spyder880:Nice and the lighter brown wardrobe would have contrasted perfectly with the wall color. |
spyder880:Nice wardrobes. I like that shade of green. What is it called? |
Okay. I think my questions are answered. |
spyder880:Nice colors! Which is going on which wall? Do you plan to use all in this building or you are still selecting? |
segcymoor:OK. But ultimately, are there implications for quality differences depending on the type used? |
My advise is for you to have a frank and open discussion with him about each others plans for next few years. I had such a conversation a few years ago with an only gf who had suitors coming her way....I wasn't ready for marriage, didn't know when I would be and couldn't guarantee it would be her when I become ready. She left for one of the suitors and from what I hear they are happy....and so am I having found and marriednsomebody I was sure from day one that this is the one. |
spyder880:Interesting. Please remember to post pictures when this is mounted. Abeg, I go like to see am. |
They are spot on about BTDJ. He can't be from any where else with those looks, mien and energy. |
NL1960:This is possible but not prevalent in Anambra State because of scarcity. Trading in land occurs on a daily basis in south east but in most areas in Anambra State, a plot of land is 450sqm (100ft x 50ft) as against these ones that are 600sqm. |
mufutau55: spyder880:Thanks guys for the education. The size to be covered is the size of a full plot in some cities. I look forward to seein the pictures and work progress when the actual laying starts. |
spyder880:Kerbs are the longer ones? What's the size of the area to be covered by the interlocking stones and what's the estimate to get the job done? |
kopell:Interesting viewpoint but you have to let other people also air their ideas about what they want. Eventually the promoter will decide on final details and those not in agreement will opt out. In other words, say yours, let others say theirs. |
Also interesting to me. |
This is coming out beautifully. When do you guys plan to start etting this out. |
spyder880:My candid opinion is that L/L should forget the screeding as that will be including a feature that most people will not be willing to pay for. Let him instead get top quality craftsmen to do the painting. The tiling and other features are already very elaborate for a tenanted building. L/L major challenge is that rents in different areas are determined by the market and no matter the nature of your building, variation from the market rate will be very marginal if any at all. |
......and this house has no provision for lintel? |
Mehn....i just love those kitchen tiles and the skirting. Such a pity that most parts of it will be covered by kitchen cabinets. That wall looks old, perhaps thats why portions of it keep falling. Dear Spyder, do you plan to fortify it at some stage? Maybe the landlord and his neighbour should contribute money and do this. I don't want to imagine what may happen when people start living in this house and another portion collapses when there is heavy human traffic. |
Empiree:I think that there are different ways to do tiling now. Not everybody uses conventional cement these days. There is what is called a cement gum; a fluid substance that can be used irrespective of whether wall was plastered or not. This is also widely used for floor tiles and apart from being cost effective also enhances tiling finishes. |
spyder880: Tiles in some more flats. .....I am curious. What is the essence of rubbing cement on the tiles after laying them? Are you not planning to use skirtings in this house? Me thinks it will make it more biuriful.... |
Whatever the case, it will be good to investigate the cause of the cracks before a remedy is attempted. @Spyder, have you determined the cause of the cracks? Is it something you want to engage an engineer to do? This should be instructive for readers though it may turnout to be an expensive lesson for the landlord. |
I love this thread. I have two commissions and will be contacting a few of the absolutely wonderful guys here. But no be big job o....more details for those I reach out to. |
Na so so run babes I dey run into these days. Dem no mind any age difference as long as you are dropping ![]() |

Nice |
Looks like there will be no vehicle parking space in this compound. Is that the norm in Ogun state? This is not tenant or environmental friendly. ![]() |
Empiree: why do people use metal doors these day?. I dont think it was like that before. Recent Nigerian movies i have been watching for close to 10yrs now, the houses use metal doors the way they sound. But it seems only for the main entrance though. Is it for added security or what?I believe it is primarily for security because most of the internal doors are wooden. My brother God protects o. Otherwise, those wooden doors, it takes a carpenter less than two minutes to dismantle them.....talk less of robbers. I don't know about the metal doors though and hope I never find out. |
KAYCEEJUNIOR: I have a selfcon room in a virgin flat, situated beside first bank, GTbank, access bank and directly opposite Mr Biggs by Ikotun police station, a stone throw to BRT PARK and Ikotun main market.Na wa o...this looks like a UK or USA room mate search posting. Why should I always not be at home if I don pay for the flat? E consan you? |
justjeff: Location is obinzeCan you post pictures? What is the size of a plot and what is the available title on the land? |
