rj45plug: I was thinking we have builders here that can always provide all the answers needed. It seems I have to search elsewhere since no one is willing to succour with my requests. Your specification is very vague. No builder worth his onions will give you a quote based on what you wrote....only people like Brabus and Eghosajohnny. What are the dimensions of the rooms kitchen etc. The first thing you should do is get somebody to draw a plan for you with dimensions before you start looking for quotes unless you want people to start conjuring figures from the air. This has been said so many times on NL. |

From the view you posted, it doesn't look too neat....either the workmen or the material which is new to me. Did Brag3's brother self not run a mile when the whole thing turn nasty and you colluded with his sister to defraud him ??
Paid you money to deliver materials, you absconded and started giving story. In the end I am glad the matter got resolved.
My questions still not answered.
WERE RODS AND CEMENT NOT TAKEN FROM MY SITE BY YOU/NEXTHOME ? DID YOU OR NOT PLAN TO COLLUDE WITH MY SECURITY AND ASK HIM TO LIE TO ME ON QUANTITY OF STUFF ON SITE ??
ANSWER THE QUESTIONS AND CUT THE CRAP !! So you are saying apart from being a fraudster, Brabus is also a thief? Na wa o. Wonders shall never end. A new thing everyday.......and to think I rated him so highly. |

century106: Greetings! To the glory of God, what was once a hobby and an occupation in my former life time has become a new venture for my small coy. I shared a design of a four bedroom bungalow (drawn by me) in the thread for the progress of the building of my own country home. Today (30/07/2015), my newly formed but well experienced building team assembled, broke ground and started the building of the aforementioned bungalow. I will share the progress of the project here while I will also welcome advice and critics from the ogas in the house. While I may not claim to know it all, but I have learned a lot (from a distance) from the likes of Chief Spyder880 and other ogas. I also have the backing of experienced/seasoned on-site builders. I hope this addition to my hustle scope will take me to another height and in the long run help me make others happy. Stay tuned Well done Bros. Do all you can to avoid ending up like Brabus and Eghosajohnny and you will go very far. |

dayomide70: I am a very straightforward person who believes in the Satisfaction of my customers who has given me the chance to prove my honesty and I will not want to fail them.
To me I don't think there is any reason for me to use a quarry without a computerised weigh bill which cannot be manipulated because I love doing clean jobs.
@all the ones using handwritten weigh bill you mentioned above, I will never go there because they are not the only one in Abeokuta.
For INTEGRITY Sake, I use quarry with computerised weigh bills because that's the only best way I can use to convince my customers of their supplies without having to talk too much.
There are lot of suppliers who supplies 12-15tonnes in place of 20tonnes and provides handwritten receipt of which some quarry even give them an empty receipt to fill whatever they want in it.
Thanks and God bless. Even if the correct quantity is loaded from the quarry, is it possible the drivers can discharge some before getting to site? How do you guard against this? |

battleaxe: So you are charging 1,000 per sqm just for labour?
I know I will need sand as well to bed the interlocking stones but providing sand, granite/gravel and cement as well as 1,000/sqm labour is outrageous. It would work out to be more expensive than Interlocking.
Also, you haven't mentioned that the patterns or impressions you stamp on the concrete usually wear away with time. Colors usually fade away as well, at least for the ones I've seen.
I also don't agree with your choice of using gravel over granite. This might be the only reason why your costs may be at par. Granite is cleaner and I believe binds better. You may even have to use a greater amount of cement in your mixing ratio to achieve some semblance of a cement:sand:granite mix. Please respond. I am interested in your response. Is the N1,000 with or without materials? |

Travel › Re: The Disadvantages Of Obodo Oyibo Aka Abroad by PeoplesArmy: 8:29pm On Jul 10, 2015 |
tai2: 3. Racism
Lol. Being a black man or woman is tough in this world. Oyibo that bathes twice or three times a week to save water, will hold their nose when they see you. Some people will openly refuse to serve you, some will refuse to even answer you or give you a job.
Racism is everywhere, the level of racism depends on the country i.e are you in a country as hard as Poland or in one where they have a lot of people of different races such as the United States? If you live in a city with people from different countries, it tends to be much less.
Its not all bad, some people will actually like you for being black others will detest you. The point is you don’t know who is going to hiss at you in the morning or smile, which can be depressing.
Also the poorer you are and the poorer the society you live in, the more racism you are likely to suffer. Rich people are welcome anywhere. A rich black man will think he is the most loved person in the world in some of these places but still some people will not care and look at you like you were coated in dawadawa and smell of the substance. You need a strong mind for this one.
4. Loneliness
In Nigeria, its never hard to make friends. Even with Iya that owns the provision store near your house, where you can sit down and discuss everything from the thieves that are stealing Nigeria’s money to that single woman in your compound who is always entertaining men with different cars at all hours of the day.
In Obodo Oyibo, nobody has time to sit around and discuss. Your neighbour will see you in the morning and walk past without saying hello. The person smiling for you in the store is only trying to separate you from your money. You cannot call people to gist with them on the phone and spend one or two hours. Calling Nigeria however might be easier because of Internet calls, however when you have to work for food you have little time to socialize.
Over time you might learn to make friends with co-workers, other Nigerians and other people, but it will take a lot of time. People you spend time gisting with today might not even acknowledge you tomorrow. That is the way it is. I feel you bro... |
