Properties › Re: Nigerchin, Kabelmetal And Coleman Cables, by PeoplesArmy: 9:55pm On May 30, 2015 |
topsy23: Recently the price of cables in nigeria over shoot-up in the market. According to the manufacturers, they said the increase in price was due to dollar to naira value. Not everybody can afford this price and many people want to do their electrical installations of their various projects.
This week Nigerchin cable gave us another price list again with 7.5% increase from the original price. This would be the 4th times Nigerchin cable will increase their price this year.
Now the Questions: why increase in price again when there is stability in the dollar to naira value? Can't government regulate the price of cables? Is there any regulatory body assigned to the company producing cables in Nigeria? Are they importing raw materials to Nigeria?
Not everybody can afford the recent of market price of cables.
The worst part of it now is that there a lot of fake cables in the market which our igbo brothers import to the country and they are not pure copper. Its also labelled Nigerchin. They sell it cheaper and many people don't know. The cable is a mixture of alloy and aluminium.
Recently, Nairand user called me to come and rectify/solve a problem in a newly completed project that they just moved in. During the troubleshooting to know the causes of breakers tripping-off, we discovered that fake cables were used. Most of the insulation have peeled-off and neutral cables is having contact with live cable. Thank God they use original breakers inside the distribution board that can trip-off when there is surge or bridging the cables if not all the cables would have got burnt. The clients confirmed to me that all the cables were all labelled NIGERCHIN not knowing that they are fake cables.
Kabelmetal and coleman yet to bring out their new rate. We don't know what tomorrow will.
I pray our incoming government to do something on this.

Thanks This is a very useless post for the following reasons 1. Why single out an ethnic group as importers of substandard cables. Are Igbo people the only importers of cables in the country. You are obviously a prejudice d individual. 2. In a free market economy, there are many things that drive pricing of products including cost of production, demand and supply. If you take your focus away from Igbo people and do some research about forex availability in the interbank and parallel market, perhaps you may understand. 3. Have you ever heard of competitive market? If you are not satisfied with one seller, you go to another one and buy. 4. What has your "Igbo brothers" like you call them have to do with a prospective landlord, electrician or contractor who deliberately buys substandard cables or who cannot tell a substandard cable from a standard one. 5. Are you not aware that your "Igbo brothers" also manufacture Cutix Cables, amongst others, which are preferred cables of acclai!ed quality. Dude, think through your "thoughts" before you air them on public forum. Better that people suspect you to be a fo*l than that you speak and confirm their suspicion. |

spygadgets: Oga Spyder Am happy that at the end we all will scale through this stage together ... But pls in order to erase any last minute confusion I suggest that immediate documentation and pasting on this platform for already paid plots (each bearing the initial of the owner) will be very very important... Cos I have witnessed this kind of last minutes rush hour that might create confusion whereby if mr A paid for plot 3 and at the end the plot was also allocated to mr D.... Its very important I must re emphasis.... Mine is plot 55.... Hoping its still same on your record Such as this pattern Plot 1----obi Plot 2 ----chief Plot 4 &12 ---- queen... It musnt be their full name for privacy but some sort of identification... The people paying already indicate the plot numbers they are paying for, which is also confirmed on this thread so I don't envisage this type of confusion. |

spyder880: I love this question, and has been expecting someone to ask it for a long time now. We are mere mortals, and so anything can happen to me anytime. My business is a registered concern, and this means that I am not the only director in Tigerkenn Homes Ltd. My wife is a top director in this company and has the requisite knowledge to handle the affairs of this fast growing company if I am no more. She is an astute manager of resources and is involved in this venture from the beginning.
In the event of my death, everything remains the same, this estate will go on, only that I might not be the face you see, there will probably be hired managers who will take over to achieve our aim.
Even as I am alive, at a point I will hire people to run the affairs of the estate, I will only be directing from the top when the estate takes full swing. Okay. That's fine and gives some comfort. |

eaglechild: Please do well to make inquiries, cause i happen to know that large portions of land have been acquired in that area by some estate managers.
As i speak to you now, the value of land in that area is already appreciating so you need to move fast.
I still feel that you maybe able to still secure some land.
Estate development in Enugu right now is undergoing an unprecedented boom as you already know.
Goodluck. Fair enough but classical leading indicators of a bubble.... |
